Can anyone diagnose my 'colours'?
I thought I was a winter but I tried on a couple of 'winter colours' today and looked hideous.
My eyes are a greeny-grey colour, lips very pink, not sure about my skin tone. V dark hair with white highlights

I need a new wardrobe for starting back at work but am just getting fed up with looking as the colours I think will suit me don't!

(Excuse the photo - I don't have any clear ones of my face so it's a post shower/wet hair/not quite finished doing my make up picture.)

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 15/10/2013 21:31

SteppedOnaFrog love the name btw,I've put pics in a thread now but apparently it isn't much help :(

ygritte · 15/10/2013 21:35

If you read deep winter soft v soft summer deep on modal corpus and follow the links to find celeb examples it will be enlightening or deeply confusingGrin.

Yes, stepped, I posted before i thought about it and think you're right about the one I meant.

SteppedOnaFrog · 15/10/2013 21:37

Badhoc- dark/deep winter. Google dark winter pinterest and see if that seems about right- and you don't look bad AT ALL. I think the little bit of warmth added to this winter palette will help counter he sallowness you say you have.

ViviDeBOOvoir · 15/10/2013 21:39

Where is your thread, triptrap? I can't see it. (Not that I'm any help, just nosey!)

ygritte- yes quite confusing indeed once you get to 16 seasons Grin

SteppedOnaFrog · 15/10/2013 21:59

More- can't open to see your pics.

Badvoc · 15/10/2013 21:59

That's really interesting...love lots of those colours!
Have just bought a navy, plum and black tops. And a navy jumper too.
So glad I can wear black and white. I have always thought it suited me.
Phew!
I have just bought a green/turquoise skirt too!
Thanks!
Will have to experiment with make up I think...will try grey eyeshadow and pink (ish) lips.

MoreThanWords · 15/10/2013 22:04

Grrrr - right, I've uploaded them again, there should be a profile pic and one other.

SteppedOnaFrog · 15/10/2013 22:12

Try wine shades Badvoc- sheer at first and see if you like them. Burt's Bees Rhubarb is a good starting point as it gives a nice bit of colour but is sheer-ish. Taupe eyeshadow is worth a try.

MUA (Superdrug) have brought out a matte eyeshadow palette and it is brilliant- lots of taupes and dusty pinks to experiment with and only about £4 from memory.

HTH
