DS is year 5, and has this jacket in blue. It has detachable arms, and he can wear it out of school as well.

ggirl · 10/10/2013 22:45

oh that's really nice , will show it to him thanks

I buy Trespass for my DD and DS.
Waterproof, good quality, much cheaper on their website.

They do a 3-in-1 but my DS doesn't like a padded coat.

He never wears the blessed thing though. He's in Yr9 and trundles home in his blazer.
No jumper either.

YDdraigGoch · 11/10/2013 11:42

Do you give a 6 year old a choice in what coat he wears? Surely he should just wear whatever you buy for him.

Kemmo · 11/10/2013 11:47

YDdraigGoch - If you're going to be rude then it is best to read the OP carefully :)

her DS is in YEAR 6.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 11/10/2013 12:51

Grin at a yr 6 boy wearing what hes told. Although maybe I do pander to my children for clothing as I remember being forced to wear hideous clothing and hating it as a child.

ds2 who is yr7 is wearing a Hollister one, he had superdry last year but that was a hand me down from his 16yr old brother. this one

he also has this one from next to ear over his blazer on rainy days when biking. anorak

ggirl · 11/10/2013 17:51

thanks , completley forgot about trespass and they have loads on their site
the hollister one he would love but far too £££ I'm afraid

Viking kids have some of last years Didricksons coats, bought a Devon for ds2 and would thoroughly recommend. Lovely coat. Would have bought one for Ds1 in yr 5 but now he has a Boden yellow puffa sigh. My youngest ds is 5 and has his say about clothes - they're the ones have to wear them!

BiscuitMillionaire · 12/10/2013 00:08

My DS has this one, from M & S. Warm as it's lined, but also rainproof and not too bulky.

scarlet76 · 12/10/2013 00:36

Another Tresspass vote for Y6 though it seems to spend most of its time screwed up in his bag.

ggirl · 12/10/2013 07:07

accessorizequeen -love the viking site, the devon one is great , need to check with ds as it may be a bit too young looking for him difficult to say but in black may be ok. Like the fact it has reflective srtipes on it as he walks to and from school. The norba one is perfect but not sure about warmth as ds would prob not bother to layer as he's rushing out the door.

M&S -will show him that one thanks

It's definitely a good idea to read the op properly before attacking.

PervCat · 12/10/2013 07:21

Next for us at that age. My eldest two wear costs ggirl

S1 has a cool parka from topman. S 2 has one from next.
Their teacher eye rollingly laughed at them and how sharp they look. "You and your brother !" Lol

Oh fgs. Link www.next.co.uk/X52786s6#852072X52

filee777 · 12/10/2013 07:26

Why is it the last year of him wearing a coat?

PervCat · 12/10/2013 07:31

Some schools have a vulture where coats aren't worn. Not any school my boys have been to. Or I've worked at

PervCat · 12/10/2013 07:31

Lol. Culture

ggirl · 12/10/2013 07:32

thnks for links ot parkas , will show him , don't think he's considered the furry hood look yet

filee-was slightly tongue in cheek as all the seniors walk to school in their blazers round here freezing their balls off

Uniqlo down parka £20

HereComesHoneyBooBooDragon · 12/10/2013 08:03

I got Ds This voi one when it was on offer.

I tried it on its warm and very light. He likes it.

PervCat · 12/10/2013 08:39

well S1 fancies himself SOMETHING ELSE in it Wink

Meglet · 12/10/2013 08:42

I'm justifying the fortune I spend on my young DC's coats (trespass / peter storm etc) on the fact that they won't bother with them when they're teenagers. In fact 5yo DD doesn't bother with hers now Hmm.
