Ooh lucysmam I saw that too - it was your 'think like a man' post Grin

Jemima both of those dresses look lovely. I think the first dress teamed with a denim jacket would be perfect for a meal and some drinks. Very pretty :) Your outfit today sounds very co-ordinated

Still feeling really rough here, so going to bed shattered around 9pm without giving a thought to the next day's clothes. Today I have to go out on a course for a couple of hours so have opted for indigo jeggings and my burnt orange fox t-shirt. Need to crawl into the shower at some point before 1pm but all I really want to do is go back to bed.

Thanks Control

I accidentally bought some shoes to go with tonight's dress this morning. I was supposed to be Christmas shopping, but Clarks had a 20% off everything event and these fell into my bag Grin The colour matches the colour of the hummingbirds on the Fat Face dress.

Not sure I can manage to hide them from DH, he'll probably notice that I didn't have teal shoes before!

Control I hope you feel better soon. As you can tell from the time of my last post I didn't get much sleep last night (trapped nerve still playing up), I think I am going to need a little siesta if I am going to stay awake long enough to go out tonight.

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 01/12/2013 08:20

jemima your post has made me roar with laughter! It reminds me of the BBT episode where Penny falls in love with shoes worth several hundred dollars and takes them home so she can lie on her back on the sofa staring at them Grin The shoes in your link a really fab though! I wish I could wear suede style shoes but I'm so clumsy I rub scratches and bald spots into them in no time. I could do with more shoes, might get myself down to M&S and see what they've got in their foot glove range. So sorry to hear your trapped nerve is still bad. Have you tried a TENS machine? It's the only thing that gets me through my sciatic episodes - I even managed to go to work through my last (albeit quite mild) one thanks to that little gadget.

Lucysmam how's your back now, too? Hope the school run wasn't too bad and you're able to get some rest now it's the weekend.

helga I am 50/50 Shock and Envy of you putting your tree up already! I love christmas decs, but get fed up of them so quickly I end up putting them up really late and taking them down practically on boxing day.

vvv what are your Christmas celebrations like in NZ? Is it as hot as Australia?

Feeling like death here, my cold's come back with a vengeance and brought a migraine with it. Just sitting here waiting for the codeine to kick in. Only managed to get 10 items for DP's advent box before I ran out of money last month. Will see if I can sneak in a few top ups as the days go by. Still got some secret santa present buying to do but I've got all of DP's presents sorted, they just need wrapping.

Ladies, please help! DP keeps asking me what I want for christmas and I really don't know. I know he's always strapped for cash so I don't want to ask for anything expensive (ie over £50) but can't think of anything I want anyway. I've suggested he use whatever he planned to spend on me to pay a bit off his credit card because I worry about his debts so much. He says that's not a real present for me, so we're back to square one.

CallingAllEngels · 01/12/2013 09:59

jemima love the shoes (I love Clarks and have ot rein myself in because they have a store here in my Dutch town which is $$$$$ compared to if I buy things i the UK but I can't resist - their shoes and bootds are just too comfy!). Great outfit for yesterday as well. Hope you had agood meal.

Could you ask DH for credit on a fave shoes/clothing website? Or let him loose on a wishlist? My new dress/earrings/necklace are courtesy of DH Grin

Lazy Sunday at home but am channelling casual Audrey after spending a bit too much time on pinterest last night with skinny jeans, dark brown belt, breton stripey top, hair in side parting and still rather voluminous after blowdrying for the first time in 6 months yesterday, Chanel perfume and new fake pearl earrings.

This is the dress I just got delivered Control

topvintage.nl/nl/vintage-retro/retrolicious-bridget-bombshell-dress-polka-bow

I tried it on properly last night with necklace/earrings/heels/red lippie and fancy hair and it looks awesome!

helga I have to wait until Sinterklaas has left the Netherlands before getting Christmassy so the tree will be going up next weekend on Friday night.

vvv supremely jealous of anyone who loves in NZ. We came for a month this year (in July) to see my best friend (long time Aucklander) and youngest DSis (working holiday in South Island atm). I love it and cannot wait for the next time we go back which will be a while because of $$$ and the thought of another 24 hour+ journey with toddler DS

Hi everyone, checking in after a while as I've been preoccupied with a non sleeping baby, the terrible twos and a close family member going into a hospice and then passing away this week Sad onwards and upwards from now on.

control is it worth asking for a gift card to go shopping in the sales?

I'm managing the basics (although in Sunday scruffs today) and making the effort to look my best when I leave the house, not so much when I'm on my own at home though.

control what about gloves or a scarf. BIL was asking me what I wanted and I didn't want to ask for anything expensive so I'll tell him what gloves I want and he'll get them for me.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" [tchgrin]

Morning ladies Smile

Quick post & will load up laptop to read back properly later on because there's loads to read!

Just finished the majority of my Christmas shopping just a couple of token gifts to buy now and I'm done! I actually went to town for moisturiser (face & body), foot cream, and intensive conditioner Blush and to have a look at diy hair colours so not as good a trip as I first thought! Have to go back with an actual written list in the morning.

My eyebrows are dreadful....I'm trying my very very best to leave them alone until the end of the week before Christmas but they are just Shock ! Sorely tempted to root out my tweezers and go at them.

lucysmam · 02/12/2013 10:39

oh bum, my christmas smiley didn't work Xmas Sad maybe?

lucysmam · 02/12/2013 10:39

aha! Xmas Grin just because my first attempt was broken

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 02/12/2013 13:49

Thank you ladies, I've now asked dp for a replacement pair of leather gloves as mine are many years old and have massive holes in at least three fingers. I'd not thought of that before as I'm a prolofic knitter so pretty well catered for in that department.

Am on the phone so will do a proper post later. Have just managed to pick up another 11 little bits to add to dp's advent box. He was surprisingly chuffed to get a sachet of man-moisturisr this morning! I got some nail embellishments so will see what damage I can do with them when I get home :)

lucysmam · 02/12/2013 14:20

Xmas Grin Control mine looked like Xmas Hmm at the suggestion of an advent calendar so left him to it! I have some little samples of Douwe Egberts coffee today...saving them for later when the kids are in the bath and I can get two minutes peace!

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 02/12/2013 16:41

Ahh lucysmam I didn't give mind a choice, just said 'rather than getting an advent calendar that we forget to open each day, this is what I've decided to do...' He was a bit Xmas Hmm at first, until it came to the first day of him getting to unwrap something Xmas Grin

Ok, so I'm going to post a tada list, since today's the first proper day that I have a tada list since I went down with the flu four weeks ago!

Today I have:
-had a shower
-defuzzed
-shampooed and intensively conditioned my hair
-whole body moisturised
-lacura wrinkle stop on forehead, smile creases and under eyes
-full Anew facial skin care range
-hand lotioned
-hair dried
-hair straightened
-smart casual clothes picked out for tonight's christmas get-together
-old nail varnish removed
-sparkly nail varnish applied
-made use of the nail embellishments I picked out of my advent box
-brushed teeth (again)
-flossed

Still to do:
-makeup on
-earrings
-necklace

vvviola · 03/12/2013 09:47

Wow Remote, that's some tada list. Nice going Grin

I had great plasma of pulling everything out of my wardrobe and looking at putting together a few outfits that are ok for the heat, but I had a friend call over to chat as she's having relationship problems, so that went out the window. But for a good cause so I don't mind.

I'm all moisturised and tucked up in bed hoping for a good nights sleep if DD2 obliges. My hair is still a total disaster though, and getting worse by the day. I must rummage in my basket of tricks to see if I have anything that might help.

Please say you haven't all abandoned me!!

Bought hair dye yesterday. I've given up hope that DD will stay off the boob long enough to let me get it done in the hairdressers. Chilli chocolate semi-permanent. I don't have much grey (my dad and one aunt never really went grey) but have some I want to cover.

I reacted really badly to my soap & glory exfoliator. My skin is just too sensitive for chemical exfoliation - I need to get the origins one I used before which was great.

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 05/12/2013 14:21

Still here, lovely, just not done much in the way of renovating since Wednesday more in the way of needing serious scaffolding! Flu has caught up with me after all my gallivanting so have done minimal work from home today and slept quite a lot.

lucysmam · 05/12/2013 16:04

Quick post while I do tea for the girls, I'm still here!! Just mooching about 'Christmas' a lot lately Grin Shopping all done barring dp now & two things to pick up tomorrow. Looks loads crammed into the airing cupboard because the pram boxes and bargainous bean bags are HUGE Grin

It was me on your necklace thread last night helga...I think it's lovely that he was going to surprise you with it! Don't let a misplaced click make you Sad

Christmas hair cut booked for the 19th, was the only one I could get. Going to grow my colour out for another 6months or so I think and see what it looks like then. Might have a chat with hairdresser about going a reddish brownish colour though. Fancy a drastic change Shock

HelgatheHairy · 05/12/2013 16:24

I thought it was you!

OP posts:
vvviola · 05/12/2013 22:47

I'm still here, but the renovating is proving a bit difficult.

Despite deep conditioner and serum my hair still looks like I'm a mad professor. I've taken to wearing folded up bandanas and soft hairbands which is probably totally inappropriate for a woman in her 30s!

The bio oil appears to be doing something for my stretch marks which is great and my finger nails are filed, shaped and have clear nail polish on.

My toes are another matter, I kicked the door frame by accident yesterday (ow!!!) and have broken 3 nails quite badly, so I'll be lucky if I get them back in shape and have a pedicure before Christmas.
