Just had a quick look at project 333 dilidali and although I like the idea in theory, would feel a little restricted by it as the 33 items includes accessories (like you, I adore my scarves and costume jewellery and could easily end up with just a bra and knickers as my entire allocation would have gone on the accessories!!). As it does allow for sportswear/underwear and a few other things outside the basic number,
there is some room for manoeuvre. Might have a go at it after reading the start up more carefully as I only skimmed through it late last night. Notice someone else has posted an entire thread on it in S&B.

Deep breaths lucysmam, you are doing really well considering it is only day 1 or 2 in your new home. Brew, Cake. Only a couple of days to go and then stress of Christmas is over and you can get stuck in with sorting everything out properly and just how you like it.

Dilidali - it's due to rain here on Christmas Day, for the second year in a row. So I am deprived of my sunny Christmas, but still have to deal with the humidity, heat and frizzy hair (my Irish blood is designed for cooler weather I think)

I've always been reluctant to try waxes as I can't/don't wash my hair daily, so wondered if it would get too greasy. Might look into it after Christmas though.

DH now is refusing to have any serious conversations with me as he claims he can't take me seriously looking like a mad professor. I may have to kill him WinkWink

Tomorrow I shall attack my hair with the hair straighteners and hope for the best. Grin

vvv Irish people are not designed for heat! I neatly died last summer with the heat (yes in Ireland) - course I was massively pregnant at the time as well!

Sigh just ran my tongue around the inside of my mouth after eating lunch as you do and discovered a bit of enamel has come off a tooth. Unfortunately this happens quite a bit, my teeth are more fillings than teeth. Called my dentist but he's closed now till 30th December. At least there's no pain.

Vvv how about you attack your dh with hair straighteners? It sounds like he has it coming! Grin

made it 8ver a very choppy channel on the ferry before they closed Dover port.

have done some renovating in our hotel room - bath, hair mask, face mask, mois. Not very relaxing as was accompanied by ds who was 8vertired and rather wild.

my outfits have been hung up and for the first time ever I have not bought any trousers with me, but instead lovely dresses and a denim skirt. Means I have managed to only bring one apir of shoes with me (brown biker boots which look lush with dresses, though will be rocking slipper socks at my mum and dad's!). Have my wellies too but they don't count! Have also brought a selection of jewellery and makeup. Will be a fabulous ren8vating week.

though have broken out in spots around my cleavage area. Not sure why.

Wrapped my presents earlier (got most things sent straight o uk as cheaper) and unpacked my liz earle oarcel...grapefruit cloth cleanser, toner (I love it - can't use anything else now) and my free gifts of neck and bust firming cream and travel size cleanser.

popped into supermarket on way to hotel and picked up intensive hair mask and face mask, plus some herbal teas so dh and I don't end up swigging coffee, fizzy drinks or baileys!

Merry Christmas renovators!

@ engels' suggestion for vvv to attack DH with hair straighteners!

Sorry not to namecheck everyone, so much to catch up on in the last few days (I hadn't realised how long it was since my last post). Will have a proper read in a bit.

Currently sitting here feeling a bit sorry for myself - no heating til the engineer's been later today, and no hot water for two days. I desperately need a shower and to wash my hair.

I ordered Jillian Michaels' six week six pack and ultimate shed and shred yesterday. Amazon marked my order as dispatched within two hours of it being placed! Not due to arrive until after Christmas though. Been doing far too much eating and drinking over the last few days, so really need to get back into a proper exercise routine and get my 5:2 going again.

lucysmam eh? You've just moved house and now people are landing on you for Christmas?? Hope they're bringing a turkey, ready cooked and with all the trimmings for you!

Today I was woken by the dog getting sick on the bed. Lovely. Had to wait till DH came home before I could shower but at least I have now.

That's rubbish bout the boiler control. Fingers crossed its fixed soon!

Did you invite people lucysmam or did people just announce they were coming. I love the idea of a big family Christmas - I just don't want to be the one doing it!

Christmas is sorted....kind of (prams not built and I need to work out how long to cook the turkey for) but I have rennovated myself & the kitchen and living room look like we've been here for years cluttered Grin

Have a fab day tomorrow everyone...see you on the other side Xmas Smile Merry christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone Grin Hope you are all still tucked up in bed and that there have been no insanely early risers.

A brief note on my hair: I straightened it at the front last night and it seemed to work (although it hadn't the previous time), but this morning I didn't get a chance to do any more and the weather was so horrendous there was no point. So it's in a loose bun (thanks for the Gibson twist idea, Control, I'll be using that soon) and looks ok.

And boy am I glad that's all I did with it! DH had told me his family were casual at Christmas, but I didn't believe just how casual! I was nearly over dressed in navy and red bold floral dress with red flat shoes. Any hair style or obvious makeup and I would have been seriously overdressed. Hmm

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas (and still having a good one)

I'm not too sure what format the new year thread should take - any ideas?

Genius Control, pure genius, Easter Renovators would be perfect. Considering you are feeling :( and Envy, that was a pretty inspired thought! Hope things get better as the day goes on.

Helga, will you start us off again with the list of basic princessing and some links to the earlier threads again? Then we can post our own adapted list and away we go again. (Xmas Smile am excited - its like Christmas all over again!!)

Afternoon all Smile

Control I am a bit Envy of your hangover...dp is on earlies so we've been very restrained this week!

I'm stuck for somewhere to use my straighteners here Confused If I stick them in our bedroom window the travellers on trains can see through the window Hmm ....kitchen isn't big enough & living room doesn't have enough room atm!

Am off shopping for some bits and bobs for the bathroom shortly when dp gets home. I've given myself a £20 budget to get toothbrush mug, soap dish & something nice to go on the window ledge...not sure what Confused It doesn't need painting for now just prettyfying a bit & since it's the smallest room I'm starting there.

I'm feeling less than pretty myself today....I'm running out of clothes to wear so am now onto old stuff that I never wear (I seem to have more than everyone else so have been sending theirs to dp's mums to be washed while I wait for my washer glass and seal). Still have a full face of make up on & my hair's fairly neatly tied back because it's blowing a gale out there & I'll only end up windswept.

Are we using up this thread or starting a new one?

Style has anyone asked if you want to join our little fb group yet? Smile

Righteo. I'll kick off a new thread today or tomorrow. DD is having a difficult few days so need to wait till she's asleep or at least someone else holding her before I can organise myself with links etc

Any sales buys? I got a wine plaid shirt for wearing over my skinny jeans, a chunky knit (that has a full length zip on the back which I'm not crazy about but it's nice from the front ) and a black & white jumper that I thought would be loose fitting but isn't. I like it anyway though.

Hope you all came through the weather in one piece. We have 3 trees down. One is being held by the trees next to it which is lucky or it would have landed on the car!

Hope everyone is having a good Christmas break. Just back from the UK. Horrible weather out there.

Got lots of comliments from family and friends on how 'well' I was looking (I.e. actually wearing make up, jewellery and contact lenses) and lots of comments about cl I thes. Didn't get any pictures of me looking glam though!

I am definitely up for a renovating thread. I weighed myself on Christmas day and I have only been this heavy 2 months post ds's birth (2 years ago).

My skin is dry from hotel air, central heating and not enough water. I've eaten so much, not only this week but the last 2 months (misery induced post-mc).

For my own mental health I need to step away from obsessing over ttc, get my running shoes on and my shred out, watch my diet, clear out my wardrobe, continue planning beautiful outfits and use all the lovely face masks/body cream/conditioners etc that I have stashed in the cupboard.

I haven't bought any sales baragains but am 9lanning on hitting my fave website tomorrow for soem lovely bits. Also goign to sign up for my 10k in May.

Looking forward to the new thread Helga!

Due to the position a tree has fallen there's a chance I'm going to lose my internet within the next hour and not get it back for days. If that happens can someone else please start the Easter renovation thread?

Hopefully all will be ok but the tree didn't fall, it's stuck between the telephone pole and another tree. I currently have 4 men wandering round it going ...what if we do this....what if we do that.

Oh no helga how worrying! Hopefully sod's law will not come into play today, and the tree will be removed safely and without disruption to your internet.

My six week six pack and extreme shred dvds arrived yesterday and I was planning on using one of them today, but feeling like I'm going in for another cold so not sure if it's a good idea to push my body with exercise. Will see how I feel later on.

I just saw your post on FB Helga, I hope they sort the tree out quickly.

Hmmm, Easter renovation... sounds like a plan!

I made it through Christmas looking pretty good (even if I say so myself Grin ). I got my hair and nails done last weekend and worked out each day's outfits in advance. However I have spent too much time in the Quality Street box and I'm sure I've put half a stone on this week alone...

So, action is needed. In amongst my sale shopping yesterday I bought a new pair of running tights to replace the ones that are now too big. I also bought some Sistema containers: this lunch cube, this soup mug and this breakfast pot for taking healthy lunches to work when I start my new job. I have also been to Morrisons and stocked up on slightly healthier food rather than picking on all the Christmas leftovers in the fridge. I discovered New Covent Garden Skinny Soups, which I haven't seen before.

Looking forward to the Easter thread.
