Well, I am defrumped to within an inch of my life. Creche agreed to take DD2 for a couple of hours this afternoon (DH's great idea) so I could get myself a bit sorted (the tweed skirt plan didn't work. Just looked totally wrong.

So my hair has been cut & blow dried, my eyebrows (and upper lip - ouch!) have been threaded. I have a lovely new skirt suit - black & grey ultra conservative, but just right for interviews I think.

I better get this job now because the credit card took a bit of a beating!

All I have to do before tomorrow is write a 2000 word essay (am over half way there), prepare for an interview, shave my legs, find some decent make up & remember how to apply it, oh, and get some sleep. ShockWink No problem.... Shock

lucysmam · 23/10/2013 09:07

Morning Smile

I'm having a very slow morning! Only just dressed....I have run the washer once though and have a second load in, stripped our bed & sorted clothes/costumes for tomorrow so not totally lazy Grin

Just about to make a cuppa then run straighteners over my hair and put make up on.

vvv I have everything crossed for you! Suit sounds perfect. It'll help that you feel good in something shiny and new Smile was having your upper lip threaded that bad? I was going to get mine done when I get my brows done next week Confused

ControlCreeeaaak · 23/10/2013 09:58

lucysmam it's good that you have a plan. I hope the LL is amenable, this time of year is stressful enough without have this added to it. Pic on fb of bead candy cane please Halloween Grin I used Perfect10 hair colour, the shade is light auburn but in some lights it looks lighter than others. At home it has a nice deep tone, at work it looks a bit washed out.

vvv oooooh! Exciting!! Your suit sounds fab, you will knock them dead. Best of luck with your assignment, too.

helga yay for no tears and a calm DD!

petals good to see you back again - sorry to hear about the d&v though. There seems to be so many nasties going around this year.

dili crikey, that's a bit organised - a princessing journal for 2014! I do like the idea of continuing this into the new year though. Your christmas cards sound fab, too. I can never think of anything to put in them without sounding really gushy or OTT.

I've decided my tin will be made up from all my old DHC samples that I have tucked away in a drawer, and maybe a few nice bits of makeup that I found when I was sorting through the other night.

Ooh lucysmam what costume did you decide on in the end?

petalsandstars · 23/10/2013 19:00

dili that's a good idea re the diary, I may steal it Grin as I'll have a new target of back to work date next year.

control one of my very close friends loves fancy dress so much she has a major section of her wardrobe for it and a dressing up box of accessories going back years

I had dark jeans and a green top on today, I tend to buy a lot of green thinking it will go well with the red/auburn hair.

The bug seems to have only affected DH (fingers crossed) so far and he is being rigorous with hand washing so hopefully we'll be ok.

Tomorrow I will shred before breakfast and try to get a meal plan written for the next week as I have a full fridge/freezer and no idea what to cook on each day. It has to be something fairly quick on days its just me and DD eating as I can only strap her in the booster seat for so long and inspiration does not strike with a background of whining Wink

lucysmam · 23/10/2013 20:30

Hmmmm wellllll...I don't think I will be mid week pampering tonight..
.only just finished braiding dd1's hair for tomorrow (so it crimps)!! Just about to get showered finally.

Control dd decided I ought to be a witch Confused I have no idea what to wear yet Hmm other than the hat hairband I have. Will pop a pic of the candy cane on fb when I get sat down....eventually.

I quite like the idea of carrying on in the new year too Dilidali, might follow suit and have a look for a nice cheap little diary.

lucysmam · 23/10/2013 20:53

quickest shower, defuzz and moisturise known to woman Grin

Control I'll put a pic up now but will re-post a better one in the morning because it's not very good Confused (you'll have to excuse the cushion....I thought it might show up better on there than the cluttered sides and sofa I'm about to clear Blush )

Dilidali · 23/10/2013 21:01

:) glad you like the idea. Mine is a £3 from TK Maxx, nothing fancy. But it is red!!! Lol
Vvv, suit sounds good :) good luck! X
I am off to a pampering bath now :) I shall be wearing a dress tomorrow :)

lucysmam · 23/10/2013 22:18

Good luck vvviola (not sure about time differences so hope I'm not too late to wish you well!) Smile

I am re-frumped again... sitting at home in my pyjamas Grin

I'm not sure how the interview went, I think I may get the irritating "sorry, you're over-qualified"Angry. But I did look very stylish & together. And my hair even behaved Shock I even managed to have a cup of coffee before I went in without spilling it down myself, which is a remarkable achievement!

Have to go wash my makeup off now though, it feels really heavy & sticky.

cjbk1 · 24/10/2013 12:47

is this like the February fabulisers? which disappeared or I certainly couldn't find it Wink

HelgatheHairy · 24/10/2013 13:30

vvv well done on not spilling coffee! I wouldn't even have risked having a drink!

I love the idea of continuing after Christmas, would like to look a bit together in New York. I need to step up my game a little bit. I've been doing very little besides showering and using my micro pedi occasionally.

I started tracking my calories on mfp on Monday. Weighed my self this morning and I'm 10.13.2. It's my first time breaking into the 10s since I got pregnant.

cjbk1 not sure what the February fabulisers was about but feel free to jump in here.

ControlCreeeaaak · 24/10/2013 14:27

petals wow at shredding before breakfast, that is dedication! I like to get mine done early ish on the weekend but it's normally around 11/12/1ish. On weekdays I have to wait until I'm home from work and already knackered

lucysmam the candy cane looks so pretty! How long did it take you?

vvv very well done on the interview, it's so confidence boosting when your hair and clothes feel good. Very impressed at your coffee control skills, I won't even allow myself water in that situation! Fingers crossed now for you to get the job.

cjbk I've not heard of the February Fabulisers, but it sounds similar to the aim of this thread. Feel free to jump on in!

helga whohoooo to breaking into the 10 stone that must be such a good feeling.

I took a friend shopping at lunchtime. We hit Superdrug. Hard. It's 3 for 2 on all makeup so I got 9 items, mostly nail varnish but two sets of eyeshadow pallettes thrown in there too. Also got another bottle of L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil, a top-up hair dye as this one is already starting to fade and I need to look good for meeting DP's son for the first time a new body scrub and some cotton wool pads and cleansing wipes. Last night I also got an email to say I'd won my ebay trouser suit auction for a shocking £0.99 plus £4.00 postage! I feel all pampered out...

HelgatheHairy · 24/10/2013 15:08

Managed an Eve Lom rescue mask and to file & buff my fingernails. Feeling good!

OP posts:
Blueandwhitelover · 24/10/2013 19:42

Nails have lasted until today when they chipped on about seven fingers. That is excellent so thank you to whoever it was who told me how to do them.
Today was stressful, very very stressful but because on the whole I LOVE my job I won't post details lol. Suffice to say, baker day tomorrow then a week off is a blissful thought.
Flying to Spain for a week in the early hours of Sunday too although I had to do a panic ebay shop for fat summer clothes. Last year's holiday in April I was two stones lighter and in the zone so I sold my fat holiday clothes.
After the holiday I MUST get back to it, I'm sure my horrendously painful back is to do with my weight.

lucysmam · 24/10/2013 21:22

good evening all Smile

Well, I've just sat down (later than usual again)....halloween party was a hit Grin I didn't end up staying after all the faff of trying to find a costume! went back to one of the other mums' for a cuppa. The bus we were on crashed on the way to pick up dd2 from nana's & I pulled my back trying to catch dd1 to stop her falling (some numpty fool tried to nip round the bus, down a side street, as it was pulling into the bus stop. Very broken car, slightly broken bus). Thankfully I think my pulled back was the worst injury there was so will be off to a&e if it's still sore in the morning.

Anyways.....evening routine done except hair straightening as it's so late and I still need to do my online shop before bed so will do that in the morning.

Control it took me about half an hour ish. I was using the pliers we have to bend the wire & think I could do with some smaller ones so am going to order some tomorrow I've spied on amazon. I could probably have done it quicker if I wasn't perving over Captain Hook watching Once Upon A Time at the same time. Might try some beaded snowflakes next year too. Will give me something to keep me busy on an evening.

Blue it was me! When did you paint them? I usually find mine last from a sunday to Thursday. No idea why they don't make it all the way back to Sunday Confused

I broke a thumb nail alllllllll the way down earlier - caught it on something. Bloody hurts Sad Will be painting my nails neutral ish this coming Sunday so it's not too obvious.

helga did your dd let you have some peace? Grin tbf you're managing more than I did when mine were teeny!

Right.....I can't remember any more but am sure there was....off to do my food shopping before we run out of food altogether Confused

thanks for the welcomes this morning I'm off out with the baby so wearing
what's clean an ok outfit and have straightened my frizzy bits, really must epilate legs tonight Shock

ControlCreeeaaak · 25/10/2013 10:33

well done on the clean outfit cjbk and ouchie to the epilation! My mum swears it doesn't hurt but I've tried it and she lied

blueandwhite that's pretty amazing staying power from you nail varnish Halloween Grin Odd how so many then chipped all at once! What is baker day? Enjoy Spain - what's the weather like there this time of year?

lucysmam yay for the party being a hit but that was some scary bus ride. Hope you are ok today, you could do without a trip to A&E on top of everything else. Beaded snowflakes sound pretty, it would be lovely to make some decorations that you could treat as heirlooms year after year.

Dressed today in whatever would go with my amazing nails - I have discovered crackle glaze nail varnish so my nails are currently leopard print Halloween GrinHalloween GrinHalloween Grin

I've decided to dye my hair medium brown this weekend, then midweek put another chestnut dye over the top of that so I don't look like I have a pink rinse over blonde for when I go down to meet DP's son. Since the purdy cats will be in the cattery for that trip, we've decided to extend their holiday and take a trip up to the Peak District for a couple of days too. It will be the first time I've left them in a cattery, I hope they won't be too scared

ControlCreeeaaak · 25/10/2013 12:03

aaaaarrrrghhh I've broken my really long thumb nail right down at the quick. I'm going to lose about a third of the length. I never used to care about anything like that. mind, I never used to have nails longer than half a millimetre

lucysmam · 25/10/2013 15:44

Afternoon Smile

Hi cbjk1 (sorry if I got that the wrong way round, am on app & can't scroll back to double check)

Control poundworld (the blue one) have opi crackle glaze polishes in atm. was going to try one or two myself.

Well, I am dressed reasonably smartly, full face of make up, hair donutted & we've ended up staying in all bloody day instead of going for Brew and Cake in town to start half term Hmm . Dp's mum has been up to see the girls & all they've done all day is scrap Confused

My back was sore in bed last night but seems ok for the mo....going to take it easy ish the next day or two & nip to either the walk in or a&e if it's still bad by Sunday evening. Dp reckons it'll be twisting to stop dd flying down the bus & grabbing the bar so I didn't go flying that'll have done it.

I plan to aspirin face mask tonight as I have two humongous spots brewing (one right in the middle of my forehead ffs Hmm ).

I really want to replace my holey jeans and coat this weekend but feel guilty doing it of we want to get out of here Sad Plus my boot needs sorting

This week just wasn't my week, obviously Grin

petalsandstars · 25/10/2013 20:59

control shredding has to be done either first thing in the morning or at kids bathtime depending on when DH is home - at least in the morning gets it out of the way

lucysmam ouch- very bad luck for the bus! !!!

I met up with friends for a catch up with toddlers today wearing rust coloured cardi from Next and dark jeans. Also managed to get some make up on whilst DD contained in her booster seat so she didn't want to wear it too 2 going on 20.

lucysmam · 25/10/2013 21:15

Grin my kids love when my makeup comes out! They're three and six. Every day's a dressing up day.

Actually, thinking about it, the oldest is very strict on a school/nursery day. Tells the youngest off for asking for sparkly cheeks (Benefit highbeam) and pretty eyes (pink or purple eyeshadow) because it's not allowed in school Grin

I slipped tonight, has not been a good day with the girls...I showered, exfoliated and did my face routine. That's it. This week just hasn't been good Sad Confused am hoping half term is a bit better tbh
