Clothes that you LOVE but others HATE

Do you rock a purple trouser with an orange lip but old ladies on the bus give you funny looks?
Do you shuffle to the corner shop in trackies and uggs and get giggled at by teenagers?
Like me did you receive a new pair of DMs today and get told by the other lady in your office that they're 'too clunky and not sexy'? Hmm
Come defend your style choices-what do you love to wear that others hate?

Crocs. Comfy and stylish. :o

(I do actually love them)

OneLittleLady · 27/09/2013 12:22

My leopard print tights. My sister can't stand them. Oh, and my black velvet DMs. I'm told they make me look like a stinky goth

charitygirl · 27/09/2013 12:22

Jersey harems - always right.

Buttercup4 · 27/09/2013 12:26

Uggs! I heart them a lot!

UnicornsPooGlitter · 27/09/2013 12:34

All of my clothes Grin. Probably.

Cord skinnies. Every day, like a uniform.

Converses.

noisytoys · 27/09/2013 12:41

I have UGGs, Crocs and DMs and love them all Grin

50ShadesOfMaybe · 27/09/2013 13:20

I was a fan of DMs but am now developing a love of Brothel Creepers. Possibly even more clumpy and ugly according to some.

Uggs.

DMs.

Occasional leopard print.

I also love the alternative modern pinup look - you know, fire engine red hair, victory rolls, false lashes everyday, one arm smothered in vibrant tattoos... if I was ten years younger and had the balls I would totally rock that look.

SnoopySnoopyDoggDogg · 27/09/2013 13:37

Animal print. My absoloute favourite work shirt is a loud satin leopard print Blush DH calls it my Bet Lynch shirt and I do try and avoid wearing it on days where I might be meeting clients.

Oh and yes to the alternative pin up look, if I wasn't a boring dull tedious accountant I would have a much more interesting wardrobe!

happydutchmummy · 27/09/2013 13:44

My dressing gown. It is old and worn and should have been thrown out about a decade ago but I am very very attached to it, almost treat it like a comfort blanket. My oh has given up trying to tempt me with newer, fluffier dressing gowns, my friends all comment on its pathetically threadbare state when they see it, but I love it and will not replace it!

Ujjayi · 27/09/2013 13:48

Most of my clothing! It's a mixture of Vivienne Westwood, 70's Celia Birtwell, All Saints, charity shop stuff and authentic vintage. Lots of colour, print, texture & beading. When forced to give an opinion, DH will state I look "artistic" :o

I do have "normal" cosy clothes for schlepping around with the DCs etc but I always feel a bit "meh" in them, TBH.

I dress as though I live somewhere far more cosmopolitan and accepting than the small village I actually reside in. But life is too short to give a tuppence what people think of my style.

Ujjayi · 27/09/2013 13:52

Oh and I am also a huge fan of messy white-blonde hair (highlighted rather than solid colour) with the roots visible to give it an edge. Some people undoubtedly think "scrubber".....I just think Debbie Harry :o

Mintyy · 27/09/2013 13:53

Linen trousers.

MrsMongoose · 27/09/2013 14:00

Uggs. Like wearing shoes made of cloud. Perfect for the day after a night out in crippling heels.

TallulahBetty · 27/09/2013 18:00

Crocs and Ugg boots (from Sainos). I care not what others think Wine

Bexicles · 27/09/2013 19:48

I love TOMS, they are so comfortable and easy to wear.

Gingerandcocoa · 27/09/2013 19:52

I went shopping with my friend the other day, tried on a few outfits, and she helped me pick one. I then changed into a dress and came out of the fitting room, and friend said: "NO NO NO definitely NOT that one!"

It was my own dress. Grin I couldn't stop laughing, though was a tiny bit hurt that she felt so strongly against it!

MissBetseyTrotwood · 27/09/2013 20:49

My old fleece. DH keeps trying to throw it out but I had both of my labours in it and I can't quite say goodbye.

It is truly horrible though. Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/09/2013 20:53

southeastastra · 27/09/2013 20:55

MyNameIsSuz · 27/09/2013 20:59

Flares!!! I'm bigger up top and feel so much better with a great big massive flare, seventies style. Sadly I can't buy them anywhere any more so am stuck with dresses. Cannot WAIT til they're back in!

mewkins · 27/09/2013 21:00

Flares. I had a few years of skinnies only.. and then I spotted some lovely flared leg jeans this summer, and it was like reuniting with an old friend!
