£150 to achieve this look??

No bleedin ta!

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/09/2013 13:40

lol

Crutchlow35 · 25/09/2013 13:44

Uggs don't achieve that look. Those are fake, cheap replicas probably costing about £10 from primark.

bishboschone · 25/09/2013 13:45

Every year someone starts a ugg bashing thread. These are not real uggs. Proper uggs dot do this.

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 25/09/2013 13:45

Proper Uggs dont do that. I've had mine for 2 year and they don't do that

LeslieKnope · 25/09/2013 13:49

Apologies. Proper Uggs don't do that.

But whether knock offs or the real deal they still don't look stylish or even remotely nice.

A socially acceptable version of wearing your onesie on the school run. They're slippers. Ugly ugly ass slippers at that.

BitchyRestingFace · 25/09/2013 13:49

Nope, my Kiwis don't do that. They're almost three years old.

I do think Uggs are overpriced, but I love a good sheepskin boot and evangelise about Kiwis and Celts all the time. My Kiwi Ultimates were about £90 and worth every single penny Smile

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 25/09/2013 13:50

My Uggs are that style either. No fur to be seen

elastamum · 25/09/2013 13:54

It depends on what you do with them. I've got the more weatherproof outdoor UGGs and I wear them all day everyday whilst working fom home from Septemeber to March. I do the school run in them and nip to the shops etc. They keep my feet warm and stop me feeling I need to put the heating on. I wear them 10 hours a day so I reckon they are pretty good value for me.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/09/2013 14:06

Wearing my duvet all day would probably stop my need for putting on the heating, or buying a coat even.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't look ridiculous. Imagine if I then told everyone the duvet I was 'sporting' cost £150?

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 25/09/2013 14:09

Mine only cost £65. 2 years old and worn autumn til spring. Waterproof and I dont think they look ridiculous.

Now crocs, they are ridiculous

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 25/09/2013 14:11

Uggs look awful and skinny BUT what is even worse is the ones (yes, genuine) I've seen this year that are absolutely plastered in gold sequins.Seriously, just WHY?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 25/09/2013 14:14

SLOBBY not skinny!

Thumbwitch · 25/09/2013 14:18

Uggs are ugh, and slippers. I really don't like them at all and have no desire to buy any, not even as slippers.

If I lived somewhere that snowed, I might consider it but I don't.

Crocs, OTOH, are excellent for DS1. I wouldn't wear them either if you paid me, but he loves his - perfect for the beach, going swimming, mucking around at the edge of the lake etc etc.

noisytoys · 25/09/2013 14:19

UGGs are brilliant. I have UGG boots and UGG gloves the hands and feet are the bits that get the coldest now they will be snuggle and warm Smile

TheGirlFromIpanema · 25/09/2013 14:22

I've been considering these ones
Has anyone got them? I'd like a pair that will peform exactly as elastamum described above. They seem as if they would be easy to wear with skinnies or even under bootcuts, anyone agree/disagree?

I've never had ugg style before but dd has and they do seem comfy and warm Grin

moondog · 25/09/2013 14:23

Ugly and expensive.
They look like something you have to wear after surgery on hammer toes (whatever those are)

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 25/09/2013 14:24

i have these ones, £65 and best boots I've had

sedgieloo · 25/09/2013 14:25

Leslie love the pic hahaha. Fancy some for in the house as slippers, feet are always freezing. And loved crocs this summer for my two yr old.

marthastew · 25/09/2013 14:32

At 40+2, Crocs are the only shoes I can put on by myself Blush

missmartha · 25/09/2013 14:53

No real Uggs don't do that.

I resisted them for years but succumbed a few years ago and have worn little else on my feet between October and April since.

(small voice) I have four pairs, all different.

They are warm and snug when the rest of the world is freezing and icy.

I do know they are not stylish btw., That's not why I wear them.

carrie74 · 25/09/2013 14:56

I'm afraid I couldn't bring myself to wear Uggs outside, but they're fair game as slippers. However, I'm not mental or rich enough to pay those kind of prices for slippers, so have pretend-y £15 ones from M&S. But that's just me - I don't really care what anyone else wears on their feet.

Crocs are perfect for the children, mine have been wearing them for years. Unfortunately my DH also had a pair, although he's now consigned the worst pair to the back of the cupboard (and has a presentable pair that he bought in the US which are leather and don't look like Crocs).

CambridgeBlue · 25/09/2013 15:00

I was looking at those too TheGirlfrom Ipanema, thought they looked a bit more stylish than the classic style and not a bad price for leather boots that will probably last a few years. I find nothing else keeps my feet as warm and toasty as sheepskin and I don't mind paying for it if they will last. The only thing I was unsure about was the way the back dips down with the strap going round, thought it looked a bit odd - Google pics of them and you'll see what I mean (and whether I am just being picky or not!)

NoComet · 25/09/2013 15:07

DD2 had some £8 ugg type Boots from Primark, they did sterling service. I shan't be parting with £100 plus for the real thing anytime soon.

OP you will love the 'bling' version.....

I don't like them I always think women trudge about in them like slippers but each to their own.
