I love uggs (genuine) personally....didn't realise that they upset people this much...they have served me tremendously over the years & the real ones don't lose shape like that pic.

mogontheblock · 25/09/2013 16:12

Hmmmm a bit curious about what footwear choices you make if you're prepared to start a thread with the aim of knocking those who make a choice you wouldn't.....

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 25/09/2013 16:16

I have the grundle and they are fab. Really comfy. Better than traditional uggs which I wear as slippers

busyboysmum · 25/09/2013 18:50

I love my Kensington uggs, have had them 3 seasons now and lived in them so got my money's worth definitely. Do like the look of those Grandle ones, now where to get them cheapest?

blueamberuk · 18/12/2013 22:45

Fine if you dont mind being part of the horrid agony that goes into the production. To get the fine skin the poor sheep are actually skinned alive - can you imagine feeling that kind of agony just to ensure plenty of rich pampered people have warm hands and feet. Hope you can live with that?

HoFuckingHoFuckingHoneydragon · 18/12/2013 22:52

I would have thought that a positive for UGG then is that they won't use farms that practise mulesing?

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 18/12/2013 22:54

My Uggs are beautiful.

cloudskitchen · 18/12/2013 22:55

Fake sheepskin boots give uggs and other similar real sheepskin boots a bad name. The real deal do not go slouchy like that. I love my uggs and I think they look nice if you dress to suit (and no I don't mean a onesie) I have the short chocolate ones and no amount of slating on here will put me off them Grin

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 18/12/2013 22:58

As for the skinned alive thing, as far as I know that is 'faux' uggs.

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 18/12/2013 23:00

I have 6 pairs, dd too. They are aged from 1 to 5 yrs old and still look the same as the day they were bought.
Sooooo warm

starshaker · 18/12/2013 23:10

blueamberuk are you just copying and pasting your little ugg bash. I adore my uggs and have had them for 4 years now. Im looking for my next pair and these will be relegated to being just slippers since there is no grip left on them at all.

I also eat meat and wear leather :)

KatoPotatoHoHo · 18/12/2013 23:17

I have the bling ones posted upthread and I love them!

Did you mean to be so bloody pass remarkable?

Theonlyoneiknow · 19/12/2013 00:10

I have an unworn pair of UGGS I want to put on gumtree or ebay but I have no idea of how much, I don't have the box, any suggestions? I just would rather have a darker pair, not the light ones

KatoPotatoHoHo · 19/12/2013 00:15

What size are they? X

Theonlyoneiknow · 19/12/2013 08:43

4 (i think), or maybe a 3

jimjamspam · 19/12/2013 09:48

I have had my real uggs over 5 years and they still look perfect - a bargain i reckon for that much wear

i have reynauds and they really help me when it is very cold

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 19/12/2013 09:51

Yeah they don't look great but they don't look bad compared to some other winter boots.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/12/2013 10:29

I doubt the Ugg brand would have anything to do with the cruelty of animals, there would be outcry if they were like the recent angora saga.

Fake uggs dont use real animal fur though surely it would be synthetic?

I have uggs although 4 years old now and way past their prime so agree they need replacing..with more uggs Grin

I also have brown leather boots and brown heeled ankle boots so I have nicer options.

What do those people who hate uggs wear then? fugly m&s boots

LEMoncehadacatcalledSANTA · 19/12/2013 10:37

I had a pair of uggs for four years and i loved them - so comfy, they weren't the slipper type though and had a proper sole. I have seen a lovely pair this year but am gonig to forgo them in favour of some merrel snow boots - boots are my only indulgence in life Grin

5HundredUsernamesLater · 19/12/2013 10:37

I love Uggs but as yet haven't been able to afford a pair. Would love one of their bags too. Been reading this thread with envy and almost drooling at the links people have posted. I love them all, even the sequinned ones but they are maybe a bit 'young' for me. My daughter would love them though.

HelloBoys · 19/12/2013 10:57

I was snobbish about Uggs before I worked with a lady who wore them.

Now I have 2 woollen pairs (but 1 pair got a hole so donated to charity shop last year), a Mocassin pair (they don't look like Uggs), a chocolate brown short pair and thinking of getting some more.

I'm in an office which has gap under door going to courtyard where wind whistles through but Uggs have been a lifesaver in winter. and I didn't pay full price at least half price or a bit more for them.

aoife24 · 21/12/2013 01:53

In Australia they are worn as slippers and not outside, FWIW.
