A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Novice I have major kitchen Envy after looking at your pins. I can only imagine what the rest of the house is like. Hope you can organise everything in time to have a wonderful 1st Christmas in there.

On fashion news, damn whoever pointed me towards the All Worn Out blog. Since discovering it I have bought this sweater which looks far nicer IRL and is very good quality for the price. I am also awaiting this jacket which I have high hopes for. Wanted a biker jacket for years, but been waiting for just the right one to present itself.
Also pinned some shoes on our board. I don't need them but I can't stop thinking about them. If they were cheaper I'd have already done it by now, but I need enabling. Opinions please!

Sleepwhenidie · 01/10/2013 22:05

Maybe if Linus can't find a way to actually join us we could skype?! But have you not had just a teeny peek at flight costs Linus Hmm?

Drywhiteplease · 01/10/2013 22:06

Grumpy v tempted by that jumper. Jacket is good too. I saw the shoes, they're really lovely but a bit £££ .

Sleepwhenidie · 01/10/2013 22:07

Oh Grumpy I was sooo close to ordering that sweater last night! is it really nice?

santamarianovella · 01/10/2013 22:12

grumpy that sweater is so me!

Drywhiteplease · 01/10/2013 22:13

Is it v long Grumpy?......how tall are you?

Drywhiteplease · 01/10/2013 22:13

I feel a group purchase coming on!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 01/10/2013 22:15

Not long at all. I'm a shade under 5'2" and bought the xs thinking it would be all big and roomy and I didn't want it to tent me, but it's far neater in shape and length than it looks on Asos.

frankietwospots · 01/10/2013 22:15

It looks fab! Want one.

BrandyAlexander · 01/10/2013 22:19

Thanks Grumpy. Its a lovely house. The master suite has a large double bedroom that then leads on to an ensuite dressing room which is the same as the bedroom. My clothes will be very happy thereGrin

That jacket is divine. Hmmm......

Drywhiteplease · 01/10/2013 22:22

Have just bought jumper Grumpy!!!!!!!!! Switching off now.

Sleepwhenidie · 01/10/2013 22:27

Me too Dry! It looks much nicer on AWO pic, I would never have bought it based on Asos images. We better agree to let everyone else know if we decide to wear to MU Grin!

In other news, I have decided to keep the DVF leather skirt Blush

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 01/10/2013 22:31

My work here is done...Wink

G'night all

santamarianovella · 01/10/2013 23:26

ASOS should have used jasmine all worn out as the model for that sweater it looks amazing on her!

Drywhiteplease · 02/10/2013 07:43

Could it be the new MNV jumper? Sleep I won't be wearing it to MU

LinusDKD · 02/10/2013 08:32

Morning!

frankie such a pretty blouse. I Hope not too polytastic.

santa I don't have any relatives in the UK, why?

DH is English and he has a few cousins living in the UK but he comes from a very small family that has spread all over the world.

queenc that is a lovely bag in a gorgeous colour.

sleep I have not looked at flights on purpose, otherwise I would be too tempted. If I haven't spent any money in Rome (ha!) I might change my mind. Oh and Skype is a bad idea because I look hideous on Skype. Wink

grumpy I love that biker jacket!

Phew, DM went shopping and DF has gone for a walk so I have some time to myself to pack. Sadly, today is a fast day so I can't have a glass of Wine this evening to recover from spending the day with DP's. I love them, but they do my head in. Well, DM does.

MarshaBrady · 02/10/2013 08:40

Morning. On my way to work for an hour or so. This I can do Grin. Will get espresso on way. Favourite thing.

Great shopping Grumpy!

Linus I don't do Skype either. We're really not good with it in our family and find we just don't talk and sort of look at each other. Much easier on the phone. Plus we all care what we look like too much to not think do I look ok.

mignonette · 02/10/2013 09:17

Hi all. I have a few spare hours in Lincoln before returning to London so going to do a little shopping sight seeing. I must have some gaps in my wardrobe somewhere, requiring filling of.....

I decided not to buy that Burberry bag because of recurring images of Harry (un) Styles and Alexa Ubiquitous Chung sporting head to toe Burberry. I might be able to get away w/ carrying it outside of London but in the city I think it'd look too fashion victim IYKWIM? There can be such snottiness. It's annoying because the clothing 'styles' I have always gravitated towards are the same as Chung would wear (apart from skater skirts and dungarees) and now I just look like I am copying her!

Hoping UK Vogue will be out today. This weeks Grazia was rubbish and I am not inspired by S/S 14 fashion at all.

shopafrolic · 02/10/2013 09:24

Marsha real espresso or fake? Grin
Morning all - love how you all said what a spending lull you were on and then did a late night group buy - brilliant!

I better find my train tickets.....I put them in the always useful 'safe place' and now I can't remember where that was! I think my train home leaves around 8pm or maybe slightly before so I have plenty of time for a long lunch and then the shopping I have planned.

santamarianovella · 02/10/2013 10:07

morning!

linus i thought your inlaws lived in the uk,you might come for a short christmas shopping?
i have the same issues with my parents,i adore them ,but my mum just knows how to push all my buttons, you can find us arguing a minute in multiple languages and chatting and laughing the next and then back to arguing,my dad is the complete opposite, the most loving and caring person on earth...need to stop! getting all teary eyed now!

mig the only reason alexa is wearing that bag is cause its a freebie,i very much doubt its her style.

good luck marsha

mignonette · 02/10/2013 10:18

Santa I agree.Burberry might consider that product placement can backfire if you become too associated w/ a group of child like freeloaders.

MarshaBrady · 02/10/2013 10:40

Shop at this time of the morning, real Grin

Had a fab meeting, love the work we're doing very much. Really good. So, so pleased I left that miserable job!

Just need to get paid then can get something nice!

santamarianovella · 02/10/2013 10:47

Exactly, the entire front row of the SS14 ,which was awesome by the way, were sporting head to toe burberry prorsum, they looked like a walking Ad,it would have been more conving if it was a shirt here, and maybe a pair of shoes there, you know to give the impression that these people actully bought these products cause they like it ,and not cause it was a freebie, and the choice is just totally wrong, suki,Donna air,Palma ...etc

OneLittleLady · 02/10/2013 11:04

I don't like seeing freebies on celebs, I'd prefer if they actually bought things then you know they are wearing them because they like them not just because they've been given it free so they have to be seen in it IYKWIM?
