Can I wear either of these with skirts?

I am fairly clueless fashion-wise but am making more of an effort as I hurtle towards 40. I have some brown authentic wedge DM boots which I live in in the winter but an considering the new world of ankle boots to wear with skinny jeans and leggings / skirts. Can't link to option 1. Option 2 look nice but maybe too clumpy for skirts, but I hope someone with more fashion sense than me posts.

Prefer option one - I think I might have posted them on another thread earlier. I'd only wear them with short tight skirts and opaques though, and have got slim legs so would probably be a bit golf club-ish.

I was wondering about the golf club thing - I'm 5'9" and size 10.
