Operation Renovation - aka The Christmas Countdown

HelgatheHairy · 01/09/2013 07:31

It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

OP posts:

Jemima that sounds like a day for Biscuit and Brew to dunk them in followed by a night under the duvet if that's what you feel like Thanks

lucysmam · 01/09/2013 19:14

Lonely, I'm a sahm too. Tend to do bb cream, benefit highlighter on cheeks (only £££ bit of kit I own), bronzer, eyebrow pencil, bit of eye make up, mascara and liner.

Acutally come to think of it, I do the same for a glam night out (rare) but maybe darker eyes and more mascara.

I always forget lippy/gloss....no matter what I do! Confused

Am delurking and very ready for this challenge. Have done a similar one previously and have kept up alot of good habits but have really dropped off with others.
Will be back later with my list. Great work getting started, I am very excited to get glamourous for Christmas.
Can any-one recommend a good vitamin?

JemimaMuddledUp · 01/09/2013 19:34

Seven good luck with the weight loss. Fifteen months ago I weighed 15st, I now weigh 9st 10. So it can be done!

Haribojoe · 01/09/2013 19:40

Am on day 3 now. Going well so far, have done the shred twice (skipped it yesterday as was sleeping in between 2 night shifts).

Been managing all the other things too, even had homemade pasta tonight when the rest I the family were having Dominoes!!!

Someone at work last night asked me what I'd done to my skin as it looked so good ShockGrin

Think it may be working already, hope everyone else is doing well Smile

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 01/09/2013 19:51

Checks in.
Hot water lemon straw - tick
6 week 6 pack workout - tick (finished Shred last week)

Anti age serum - tick
Not done exfoliation, teeth flossing, or put makeup on but hey.

cristiane I answered you re Six pack on tail end of old thread ;)

Blueandwhitelover · 01/09/2013 20:07

Starting properly tomorrow as it's back to school in the Blue house (I am a TA).
Just off to look at the 30 thing now

NumTumDeDum · 01/09/2013 20:07

Right, am trying a home made face mask this evening when kids in bed. Gram (chickpea) flour, runny honey and water. Will report back later.

Apparently olive oil will also work wonders on feet - just massage in and put socks on overnight for it to soak in.

Paintyourbox · 01/09/2013 20:28

Hello hello,

Thanks for the shiny new thread Helga

Today I have:

Applied foot cream and body moisturiser
Applied cellulite cream
Defuzzed my legs
Filed my nails, topcoat on the polish on my toes, clear polish on fingers
Walked 6 miles
Stuck to me low carb diet- my body hates me for it
Taken my vitamins and fish oils

I am doing very very badly with the water thing. I don't know why but I just can't seem to get into it.

Went to zara and bought a nice boyfriend cardigan to replace my manky old cardigan which has been in my wardrobe for waaaay too long. Also saw a coat I liked (but think I only really like it because a very gorgeous, glamourous lady was trying it on and I want to look like her!)

I also have a really horrible patch of eczema on my arm, it's so itchy and unsightly and I can't seem to get rid of it. Anyone know of a miracle cure for eczema that's not steroid related?!

Karbea what sort of high protein foods do you have for snacks? I've been trying some protein bars but they are disgusting! Struggling to find hig protein breakfast at the moments (I can't eat eggs) so have been makin protein powder shakes (yum!)

Hoping to feel more energised as the week goes on, DP has been in hospital and can't do anything round the house for 2 weeks (including lift DD) so I feel knackered being the only one running after her all weeken!

Karbea · 01/09/2013 20:28

Trout and ratatouille was yum, looked better than what DH had!

I need to do a face mask and my night hair mask, although might do it tmr as I did a 20min one this am. Didn't order my extra vits but will do that tmr.

BJR · 01/09/2013 20:43

So far today:

Warm water with lemon
vitamins
Hour at the gym
8 Glasses of water
6 portion fruit and veg

Need to do nails, all the stuff is out ready looking at me.

Engelsemama · 01/09/2013 21:10

Marking my place. Will probably be reading rather than posting Blush

but I know this'll keep me motivated to "renovate" !

Love the title helga.

MrsFooty · 01/09/2013 21:26

Marking my place - I really need this we are at Centre Parcs first week in Dec and I've invited friend who will see me in my cossie for the first time NOOOooooooo!

caramelgirl · 01/09/2013 21:31

Checking in!
Managed clarisonic cleansing twice today, wore nice dress and cardi for bumming around and (inspired by pp) did my first day of the Squat Challenge.
Also ordered water kefir grains (also inspired by a pp).
And made up 30(!) party bags/party lunchboxes for DD's 4th birthday without sneaking any fun size bars etc!
DS woke every hour (at least) through the night sob so failed to swim - I stayed in bed instead. But had a nice family blackberrying walk.
Really enjoying reading about everyone else's achievements. And sorry to hear of some troubles too.

caramelgirl · 01/09/2013 21:36

squat challenge
And
kefir info
Realised links might be helpful!

Karbea · 01/09/2013 21:39

Sitting here with an ancient face mask on.

lucysmam · 01/09/2013 21:47

thanks for the links caramel, squats might be something to replace the push ups with maybe in the shred?

Anyone a bit more knowledgeable about these things care to comment? I really am clueless! So far have replaced them with planks but L2 had more push ups & they hurt my wrists Sad

caramelgirl · 01/09/2013 21:58

lucysmam my PT friends reckon squats are best exercise ever pretty much (I'm no expert tho').
Could you do explosive (plyometric) squats where you jump up after squatting? Speaking from experience they hurt ALOT so must be doing something. Meant to be how ballerinas get elongated slim muscles doing plyometrics apparently...< Deliberately doesn't mention own rugby player like thighs...>

thesaurusgirl · 01/09/2013 22:21

Well, I've finally managed to shower Blush.

Now to brush my teeth and I WILL FLOSS.

I changed the sheets too, so I'll have a fragrant night even if I've had a shockingly lazy woe-is-me day.

I did take a Perfectil tablet, though I needed it as supper was curry and a slice of chocolate fudge cake. I've had the same supper for two nights running (takeaway leftovers). I'm turning feral.

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 01/09/2013 22:25

Lucysmam If push ups hurt your wrists do plank on your elbows?

zoelvine · 01/09/2013 22:27

I am not ready for wellies yet! They don't go very well with all my lovely dresses from tatyanna.co.uk. I am wearing flip flops and wedges for as long as is possible.

Karbea · 01/09/2013 22:30

theasaurus don't put too much stress on yourself, just pick one thing to achieve tomorrow.

Have flossing as today's achievement, that way you've achieved everything you planned to do. :)

INeedSomeHelp · 01/09/2013 22:42

Today wasn't great. Did some grooming work this morning but then went out for lunch with friends and had roast chicken, chips, coleslaw and corn on the cob. No pudding though which is an achievement for me.
I have lost 16 pounds in the last 10 weeks doing boot camp but I was still horrified when I saw a photo taken at lunch today. Still a lot of work to do. Tomorrow is a no boot camp day so planning to do the Shred instead.
