I've never bought anything from Cos but looking at the website, I like that grim aesthetic. Any views?

Not really cutformy shape either but have had topsfrom there and usually find things that i like tops wise and knitwear.
Rely on internet store though aslive in north and no stand alone shops here just concession in Selfridges i Manchester

kikidee · 25/08/2013 21:08

noddyholder I have that top in navy. It's lovely. I love Cos but its hard to tell what anything will be like in real life from the website. You need to devote an hour of your time to trying on armfuls of clothes and end up buying one top.

Parmarella · 25/08/2013 21:25

No, not convinced yet

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2013 21:27

I think its nice but the sizing is just so crazy that you really need to try it on.

Tis very marni'esque I think which isn't really my thing as too short to carry it off convincingly.

TheChocolateTeapot · 25/08/2013 22:20

Doesn't seem to work on my curvy, monster chested, short waisted frame but my flat chested friend swears by it. I always want it to work - it doesn't :(

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2013 22:31

Teapot - I am also curvy, monster chested and short waisted. Like others have said, you have to be willing to try on a load of frogs in order to find one sartorial prince in there. :)

moondog · 25/08/2013 22:53

Hehe at coma models. At least they don't do that irritating stand on a slant with one arm dangling in front of torso in manner of chimp thing.
Lovley necklace Noddy and great price.

It's like les revenants!

NoelHeadbands · 25/08/2013 23:30

Love Cos, but it don't love me. I'm curvy and short.

The stuff I've tried makes me look like I'm wearing a sandwich board

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 25/08/2013 23:43

I'm size 12 with 30g boobs - I need definition in the middle to avoid looking like I've got puppies under my top.
Never found anything I can wear in Cos the few times I've looked, which disappoints me as I'd love to.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 25/08/2013 23:44

Yes sandwich board describes the look well - so many clothes made like that these days. < sigh >

lurkingaround · 26/08/2013 09:57

I am also curvy. Agree with the other posters, you just have to suck it up and try on loads. I generally need clothes that go in in the middle (a waist) but you'll be surprised what suits. So far I have been lucky with quality. But it does take time. Online is a flipping nightmare. And delivery and returns are very slow and expensive.

FaddyPeony · 26/08/2013 10:09

I like it but I'd definitely stay away from the super directional stuff as am not tall enough. I got a smashing forest green dress there in the sales which I looove, and I'm mad about their T-shirts. I just love the shape of those pocket Ts with the scoop neck: they hang really nicely and I basically just feel all cool and insouciante in them Grin

The other day I got this top in the maroon - it's pretty cute with skinny jeans and downright great with this pink Topshop skirt of mine. Happy me!

That said, I agree with Amber about the quality and with others about sizes. I find their sizing really small and I'm small myself. The first T-shirt I got there had tiny holes in it after not very long...weird as it sounds though I didn't mind too much, I rather like the lived-in look!

Kezztrel · 26/08/2013 10:15

Faddy that top is gorgeous. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for my bank balance), it would look terrible on me.

Kezztrel · 26/08/2013 10:20

Faddy can I just ask about the tshirt sizing? Will the XS still be slouchy on a size 8 or do I need to get a S?

FaddyPeony · 26/08/2013 10:21

Haha Kezztrel it was definitely one of those 'approach with caution' tops on the hanger but it bizarrely suited me on! It's a lot less structural looking without the buttoned up shirt underneath.

FaddyPeony · 26/08/2013 10:24

Mine are S Kezztrel. I'm size 8 too and I'm not sure that XS would have been slouchy enough on me. I take size XS in every other shop but Cos.

Kezztrel · 26/08/2013 10:27

Right, will go for the S in that case, too slouchy will be better than too tight. Thanks :)

Kezztrel · 26/08/2013 10:39

Sorry for the minor thread hijack OP. I do like Cos, have never shopped online with them (until just now!) because the stuff's so variable but got some great black cropped trousers from them a few months ago. I love all the deep, dark colours they do too. Faddy I was desperately in need of a nice navy tshirt so thanks for that :)

lurkingaround · 26/08/2013 10:49

Have been having a quick look at Cos. Quite like this skirt. Anyone? V handy for work etc.

Kezztrel · 26/08/2013 10:53

I like it a lot. Free postage with code ESSENTIALS atm :)

AndTwoBits · 26/08/2013 11:01

I only discovered cos recently and bought two tops online in the sale. Their sale was fantastic, the tops I got were hugely reduced and cotton and silk fabrics. I have had many compliments on both tops since. I am really tall and small of nork so I think their straight cut suits my build.

KristinaM · 26/08/2013 11:05

I love cos, but I only buy in store, never from the website. As others have said, you really do have to try it on, for style as well as fit.

Agree sizes are small, their XS is a 6-8 and their S an 8-10 IME

My friend describes their website as " zombies in lab coats " but I'm not put off Grin

noddyholder · 26/08/2013 11:09

I agree its virtually impossible to tell what something will look like til its on. I am quite busty and not skinny and I am small in there

Somethingyesterday · 26/08/2013 11:16

I was wrong!
