So now I've raised the money do I buy the Ash boots?

I'm on maternity leave so cash is tight. I'm also on a really strict diet so any clothes I am buying are very cheap as they won't fit for long.

I've just sold all my maternity clothes on eBay and have raised some cash.

I could put it towards a month of diet food - boring

I could put it towards Christmas, already saving advantage points and on topcashback so sort that.

Or I could buy some Ash Spiral boots in camel.

Are they worth the money? I've seen them in the sale.

Will I wear them? I'm working on the theory that good shoes and good bag can make any primark or supermarket outfit look expensive.

Oh wise ladies help me, please.

I bought Ash Jalouse boots last year in the infamous Red Direct 40% off sale. Love them. Have worn to death and will do again this winter. They work well with skinnys and with opaque with dresses and skirts.

QueenQueenie · 19/08/2013 17:45

I have bought a pair of black jalousie a week or so ago and they're lovely. True to size IMO. Makes me look forward to Autumn and opaque tights!

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:31

Spiral have a wider rounder toe and a zip. Jalouse, slightly more pointed toe, no zip......
Both fab

kisamama · 20/08/2013 20:06

QueenQueenie I tried them both on in the Ash store yesterday. The spiral is slightly lower heel, rounder toe and has a zip on the inside. The jalouse was quite pointy and slightly higher but not too high for (my) day. I did not buy either. I could not decide which colour although for fit I preferred the spiral for comfort (and I think to most people they look the same). I have since seen the spiral is on sale on the Baukjen site in tan and black and on asos in tan and stone (grey/taupe). I have lurked on s&b for a long time, this is my first post, so I hope this helps!

kisamama · 20/08/2013 20:22

Sorry I've just realised I missed the second page of posts... Shall stick to lurking!!

Bobolbach · 20/08/2013 21:04

Rather pleased.

Have you seen that we are now a "Mumsnet swear by...." email Grin.

Reidly · 21/08/2013 23:56

I've just bought the spiral in camel from asos too.... Sooo naughty. And purely cos I had a rubbish day and happened to see the mumsnet swears by email. Clearly it was meant to be Smile

ravenousbugblatterbeast · 22/08/2013 02:51

Have a heart ladies and stop saying how great these are.. I've clicked through from the Swears by email, thinking mmm, not a bad price. Except they're $161 on the Oz site, about £120, and I assume shipping is extra. Bastards!

ravenousbugblatterbeast · 22/08/2013 04:36

Even more bastards. Looking on my laptop, I can change the currency to UK, so $89 and they ship worldwide for free.. So now I'm morally bound to buy the bloody things. They do look lovely, although with a SAH DH it's hard to hide purchases!

Sassee · 22/08/2013 07:50

In those circumstances there is only one thing you can do, get them delivered to work. $89 is a brilliant price, you can't leave them there!

Wish I had not seen this thread, as I have fallen in love with these, I want them in midnight as have been looking for navy boots but they are not on sale or cheaper anywhere. Don't think I can justify the price Sad

MakeTeaNotWar · 22/08/2013 15:15

primallass · 23/08/2013 09:37

MrsLS · 23/08/2013 11:20
