Dress bought..please help me not fuck up the accessories...

Following on from my previous thread (sorry have removed the photos) I purchased a dress for the wedding. Popped into local boutique with sale on and picked up this for a bargain £30 (reduced from £115).

So fushia, drapy, perfect length for my short physique....photo on profile....but then when I got it home I realised my normal panic moment....dress looks great (and could also deal with me not losing any weight) but I cannot go barefoot....I need shoes...bag? head stuff? necklace? or just a bracelet. Soooo many times I have fucked up the outfit with duff accessories....so please help. Dress a bit of a bargain so don't mind spending a bit (and fret not, new bra on order too)

How would you accessorise? I have
*Navy hobbs clutch
*Killer navy heels (a bit too high so think if to do the navy stuff would want to get new, less victoria beckham-esque height shoes)

Or
*nude/cream heels and a natural bag.

I have access to a navy fascinator or a pink fascinator. Am happy to go without anything on my head though

And jewellery...arghhh......

Please help..

I think navy would look fabulous with that dress - that particular colour combination would not need too much jewellery.

Nude heels would also look good - maybe with a chunkier necklace, you could definitely go more "out there" with the jewellery with paler shoes.

Fascinators are the work of the devil. Why do you want to look as if a bird flew into your head?

FishfingersAreOK · 12/08/2013 16:03

Lol at the fascinator thing....especially as I have curly hair which has resemblance to a (styled) birdsnest Grin. So ditch the head stuff then?

Bumping for any other thoughts and/or navy shoe suggestions please....

And if little jewellery - just a bracelet?

I would go for navy shoes and bag with a chunky necklace and maybe bracelet. What about a cover up if it is cold? Do you have something?

Vibbe · 12/08/2013 21:40

Navy clutch and nude shoes (not cream - it's too light, instead go for something that matches your skin colour and tone). Gold jewellery, maybe with stones.
Nail polish could be navy or nude (or both).

OK..so either nude or navyshoes are an option. Have just seen some fab pink sandals though

[[http://www.javari.co.uk/s/ref=topnav_sk__/280-0585697-7650554/?onsale=&showDesigner=&node=213373031&keywords=pink+sandals&x=0&y=0]] Or would this be too much.

And if navy shoes - again would these b too much? [http://www.javari.co.uk/s/ref=topnav_sk__s/280-0585697-7650554/?onsale=&showDesigner=&node=213373031&keywords=navy+sandals&x=0&y=0]] Just seen those come in pewter too.....mmm...there is a thought.

Oh fuck. Why am I so crap at this. This is where I always fuck an outfit up.

Or should I do these Grin [[http://www.javari.co.uk/Womens-Shoes/b/213376031/ref=topnav_sd_wm_s?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=0MPG13C2Z2KR4GA4FQ6Z&pf_rd_m=A9UMZ77PKDFNW&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=navy%20sandals&pf_rd_p=414671927&pf_rd_s=headernav]]

SHould I just do plain navy heels? Suede? Patent ...OMG - how frumy could these look if I get them wrong.

If I do nude - again plain heels? Open toe? Slingbacks? What kind of finish.

Oh please help. You lovely people must have an idea....you really could not believe how much I could now mess this up?

What's your budget OP, could you pull these off?

I think the dress needs navy vs. nude.

TSSDNCOP · 12/08/2013 23:04

Also very lovely

Twinklestein · 12/08/2013 23:16

I'd step away from the navy personally. I'd for nude plus quite plain gold jewellery.

I have done it!!!! Grin Wine Grin Wine Grin Wine

Thanks to the lovely MNetters pointing me back towards nude I had a sudden memory of some nude strappy sandals I had....bought them yyyeeeaarrrrs ago but never wore them for some reason. Was not sure if I still had them...dug around...and yes!

Pics on profile. They have pale pink and cream flowers on. I have a matching chunky pale pink bracelet and a moonstone ring (creamy).

Will grab myself a nude/suede bag at some point.

But for the princely sum of £30 plus some digging around in the cupboard I am done!

Hope the finished look is OK....am not doing necklace or headgear. Think that is where I often go wrong...adding too much.

And if it is chilly I have a cream and a pink pashmina - will try both before the day to see which looks better.

Thank you everyone Flowers
