Here. I'm a HOC winter with dark hair if that's relevant to anyone ;)

Yes, agree it's old fashioned/vintage style, that's what I'm after. Still not sure about colour, will have to see it in the flesh.

It might not be so bright in the flesh. If it's more muted it would be lovely (do let us know).

2cats2many · 12/08/2013 17:26

Hate it. It looks like its from Peacocks. Sorry.

cafenoir · 12/08/2013 17:49

I really like it. Could see it with a white shirt underneath and some tan skinnies and ankle boots for autumn. I like the slightly old-fashionedness of it. Like something from a 70's knitting pattern in a good way imo.

SunnyUpNorth · 12/08/2013 18:16

I'm really surprised at the negative response, I think it's a really nice jumper. I think it would look great styled as cafenoir described.

Octopus37 · 12/08/2013 18:23

iI love torquoise, it is probably may favourite colour. I don't know what my colouring is technicall (think it might be colour me beautiful soft autumn, blonde hair and hazely/green eyes. Find that it also works with my recently died bright pink hair. Have a fab torquoise lacy sleevless dress and also a jumper dress and a mini skirt that colour (mini skirt is maybe more teale. Also think it looks great with black, navy, brown or even grey.

Octopus37 · 12/08/2013 18:24

Sorry meant to type dyed

SunnyUpNorth · 13/08/2013 14:29

Bad news kestrel, I was checking a few things with my HoC consultant so checked this too and she said it is a spring colour.

OliviaMMumsnet · 13/08/2013 14:30

I love turquoise but that is a lot of turquoise.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 15:57

Sunny I checked my swatch booklet when I got home and there are two colours in it that look turquoise to me! Chinese blue and some other blue beginning with L. I think it would be vvv useful if they gave us the swatches for all four seasons so we could compare them all and learn the differences. Also, Kettlewell lists turquoise as a winter colour, which adds to my confusion. Anyway, if the turquoise jumper suits me, I'll keep it :) But OliviaMN is right, it's a hell of a lot of turquoise, especially for someone whose never really worn turquoise before.

A Keztrel and a Kezztrel on the same thread!

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:00

(Just received a despatch note for it so will report back when it arrives on it's hideousness or lack thereof. I may include photos if it's particuarly awesome/gross...)

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:00

I'm the same person dexter, promise!

dexter73 · 13/08/2013 16:02

I thought it might be someone else who liked the same thing! Is it a World of Warcraft name? (I just googled it)

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:05

It might be, but I chose it because I was partaking in a kestrel survey when I needed a new MN name, and Kestrel was already taken.

So, almost as geeky as being a world of warcraft player, but not quite.

And I added the extra Z because I quit MN this morning in a fit of trying to sort my life out. World record rejoining time??

dexter73 · 13/08/2013 16:14

I'm glad you decided to stay!

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:16

Thanks dexter :)

Varya · 13/08/2013 16:18

Lovely colour! One of my favourite shades.

Turquoiseblue · 13/08/2013 16:38

couldnt resist this tread Wink
Love turquoise, but not really in full colour, more as an accessory. Couldnt do that jumper personally, but it looks to me like it might be nice with a dark brown cord skirt or grey knit/tweed trousers,

snowlie · 13/08/2013 16:47

I'd wear it with white shirt underneath and a pair of well faded jeans - probably boyfriend style and light coloured ankle boots - that's in an alternative universe of course where I didn't live with a large pair of DD's stuck to my chest!

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:51

Like the idea of the white shirt underneath. And hadn't thought of the grey/tweed/woolly trousers idea Turquoiseblue, I have loads of those in my wardrobe, they're my winter work staple :)

SunnyUpNorth · 13/08/2013 21:06

I think you mean Lagoon Blue, that's what I thought it might be too. But she said it is a yellowy turquoise :(

My consultant said people get really hung up on trying to find the precise shade in their booklet and that there are many shades in between we can go for, but I can't work out if something is just a lighter/darker version of the correct shade or a different tone. I was just thinking today that it would be really handy to have a small booklet of all the other colours that we shouldn't wear for comparison.

Make sure to report back as I really like that jumper too!!

CoteDAzur · 13/08/2013 21:09

Love the color, hate the sweater.

What is a "HOC winter"?

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 21:43

House of Colour consultant said I was a winter Cote. Basically I suit cool tones and have high contrast in my colouring - pale skin, dark hair. Bright or deep rather than muted colours look best.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 21:45

Sunny that's exactly what we need! Maybe we can get some autumns, springs and summers to photograph their swatches for us...
