Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish...you NEED this in your life

Have been battling hormonal, spotty, dry, oily patches skin for a year.

Starting dianette 4 months ago so no new 'active' spots, but a few crops of small pimples that never went anywhere, lots of dry patches and a really oily chin/nose.

Started Liz Earles stuff two weeks ago after I got collared by a shop girl on pay day and it is AMAZING.

I used it and waited for the usual itching/dry/burning bits...nothing. It removed all my makeup (even MAC liquid liner which is a bitch to remove). I've had 3 compliments...my ex rather charmingly asked if I was "knocked up" because I was all glowy...small crops of spots are GONE.

Buy it buy it buy it. I paid £15 ish for the big bottle and 2 muslin cloths. One pump is more than enough.

Do you not find it absolutely rubbish at removing eye makeup? I used to use it a few years ago and then they changed the formula, and since then it just seems a bit useless on my eyes (admittedly great everywhere else)

I hated it- received a sample and would never buy it. It's really thick, takes ages to spread on your face and you pull your skin every time you try to remove it- I'm sure it must make the skin sag eventually with all that pulling to remove it. And I hated the smell.

No. It removes my MAC liquid liner which I was still cleaning off for days beforehand. And I usually use Mac studio finish powder over Chanel foundation (bad skin) and it all comes clean off with one wipe. I make sure the water is quite hot though.

I used to use it and now use this which was recommended on MN. I much prefer it to Liz Earle.

But it FIXED my skin (stamps feet)

I am not a fan of any LE product. The all smell bad and do nothing for my skin. I have started using the micellar water to clean my skin after it was recommended on here and my skin is looking very clear and bright. It is also very good at getting make-up off.

Don't you find that you just end up with mascara smeared all over your face and a load of black stained muslins? I couldn't work it out. Not for me.

I feel neutral about it. Friend bought me a big tube of it for my birthday. It's ok but I'm not mad about the smell and my skin doesn't look better/worse.

I hate it. It dried my skin out and left lots of weird bumps on my cheeks. I'm glad it's working for you though!

I really like it too. I do find it hard to get mascara off so use a bit of cheap eye makeup remover on a cotton pad first, and then use it.

Superdrug do a rip off version that is just as good if not better IME, (although the muslim cloth you get with it is a bit dodgy.)

So keep your two good liz earle muslim cloths and when the product runs out try the superdrug one, (normally £6, £2.99 at the moment). Problem solved linky

I love it, I love the smell, it feels like a little bit of luxury in my otherwise frugal life. Since I started using it four years ago I've worn less and less make up and I now feel confident to leave the house with bare skin because it's no longer blotchy and spotty.

My other favourite product is a spray on body oil by the sanctuary, I never used moisturiser until I realised I could do it in seconds.

I'd go as far as saying it's not the actual product that makes your skin better but the regime- using an exfoliating cloth to remove dead skin and all the gunge.

I reckon if you smeared your face with pure lard and removed with a hot muslin cloth you'd still be happy with the result

I love it too. It is fab. Lovely smell and much improved skin. A must have for me.

You are not comparing like with like though.

If you change the way you cleanse then you have no proof that it's the product or the cleansing with the cloth that works wonders.

I've read so many beauty eds etc say it's nothing to do with the cream, it's the rubbing and scrubbing with muslin- which you can do with any old cleanser.

I really used to think it was fab, and it totally sorted my skin out as well. But agree with others upthread, the formula has changed and it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. There are other balm cleansers out there that I love though and agree it's as much about the process of using the cloth etc. as it is about the product.

The body wash is to die for, I keep saying I'm not gonna buy it (£12) but I can't help myself

I'm with Armadale - the Superdrug ones are fab. I use the Vitamin E one. My skin is fantastic since starting using it,which is probably more due to the muslin than the product.

I don't like muslins I find them too scratchy, I use flannels.

Oil Cleansing Method

I used cleanse and polish for years. I can't afford it anymore, but I bought the super drug radiance version for £2.99 (On offer) and it works just as well.

I loved it. But now on maternity leave so using the superdrug vitamin e version. Can't say I will ever change back! It's a fiver and often on two for three!

I thought LE was part of AVON? not Loreal?
