Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish...you NEED this in your life

Have been battling hormonal, spotty, dry, oily patches skin for a year.

Starting dianette 4 months ago so no new 'active' spots, but a few crops of small pimples that never went anywhere, lots of dry patches and a really oily chin/nose.

Started Liz Earles stuff two weeks ago after I got collared by a shop girl on pay day Hmm and it is AMAZING.

I used it and waited for the usual itching/dry/burning bits...nothing. It removed all my makeup (even MAC liquid liner which is a bitch to remove). I've had 3 compliments...my ex rather charmingly asked if I was "knocked up" Hmm because I was all glowy...small crops of spots are GONE.

Buy it buy it buy it. I paid £15 ish for the big bottle and 2 muslin cloths. One pump is more than enough.

Yes I'm sure it is Avon. Think a lot of people who worked for LE on the Isle of Wight were made redundant after the buy out*

*happy to be corrected on this.

Quick google and Liz Earle is now owned by Avon, phew!!! I love hot cloth cleanse & polish. Use it every morning in the shower and some evenings when can be arsed. Might have to try the super drug one tho as its prob a lot to do with the muslins and not so much the cleanser

I love the skin oil as well.

Do you not find the smell of the oil overpowering? I had a sample of it and put it on before bed but it was so strong it put me off going to sleep! I had to wash it off!

DH sometimes has a moan about it, now you say it. I quite like the smell, it is quite relaxing . I love the smell of the hand cream as well.

I agree with those saying its the muslin- you could pretty much use any cream cleanser and get the same results- I use the Burts Bees Soapbark cream cleanser ,its lovely and a huge tube lasts ages . I always stock up when its on special offer in Waitrose.
I follow with the Bioderma Sebium water for oily skin - amazing and very gentle.
Its reduced the greasiness dramatically.

Liz Earle products are reasonable at best. They are ridiculously overpriced, especially for the quality.

Gordon Bennet people are touchy on here today, I like the products but am not going to row about it

To be fair Arisbottle its hardly the next new wonder product - being told we NEED it BUY it BUY it when we tried it and didn't like it 5 years ago is making me wonder whether OP is Liz herself Grin
Glad it worked for you OP .

Now ladies play nice or I'll make you clean your faces with carbolic soap!

OP I know that feeling when you find a wonder product, it's what keeps me buying new stuff.

Is the Liz Earle muslin any different from a, er, you know, baby muslin? Just wondering if I can recreate this effect with one of DDs muslins?

I bought a batch pack of Liz Earle Muslins but I have some spare ones from amazon that seem to work as well .

I have tried Eve Lom which is very good but much more money

Used to love it but now it brings me up in horrid red bumps/spots on my cheeks. I'm sure they've changed the formulation. Love Bioderma H2O for getting rid of make up.

I have some baby muslins and some Eve Lom ones - the baby ones are definitely scratchier (poor babies!) but seem to give the same results.

Didn't get on with Liz Earle at all though, it whipped my rosacea into a frenzy.

Thanks MadBus, I'll sneak into DDs room shortly and grab one. My skin is so grey and tired looking from lack of sleep I'll try any cheap quick fix to look more human.

Eve Lom all the way for me, love the smell and although I paid £50 for the medium sized pot over a year ago, I still have half left.

The thing about Eve Lom is that cheap old mineral oil is one of its main ingredients, I resent paying that kind of money for something made from mineral oil.

I really want to try Emma Hardie's Moringa Balm, supposed to be amazing.

Emma Hardie all the way here - it is flippin' amazing. St Liz of Earle went to the dogs when they changed the formula that they deny all knowledge of so fervently. I do not trust anything that shark-eyed woman says and her insistence on special honey lighting when on QVC really grates. Mind you my sis bought ne some skin tint and I really like that Blush.

I used to be devoted to it to, but prices have gone up massively and I don't think it's as good as it used to be.

Not found a good replacement yet though. Tried Soap and Glory but it was stingy.
