CUT IT OFF!

It give 90% of the population the creeps, it doesn't look nice, you can never have it loose anyway, it doesn't MATTER if you can sit on it, and it shows a serious lack of imagination, personality and maturity.

GO AND GET A DECENT HAIRCUT!

Oh agree.
Weirdy middle aged women with long hair is the worst...

noddyholder · 10/06/2006 20:48

My hair is about the same length as Kate Moss (I am nothing like her btw mores the pity!)I don't suit short and absolutely hate hair that looks done

beansprout · 10/06/2006 20:49

And they NEVER manicure their toes!

Miaou · 10/06/2006 20:49

I had long hair until about 2 years ago, I couldn't quite sit on it though. I now have it in a bob. It looks very boring though so I am thinking of dying it blueGrin

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 20:49

I'm sure somebody's going to be offended - I would be if my hair was that long.

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:49

We are talking past your waist with NO concept of "ooh, perhaps I should have those split ends trimmed". It's not big and it's not clever.

I used to work with a girl who had hair so long she could sit on it, she went to the hairdressers for the first time in forever and they told her it was in such bad condition she would have to cut several inches off Grin Grin She cried lots and I laughed lots when I found out.

Maybe that makes me cruel but she also wore skirts that were far far far too tight and had a little mirror on her desk that she looked in every 5 mins, wobbled around in stilletoes and probably had manicured toe nails too.

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 20:54

I think long hair can mean security to some people, especially if they've had it long for a long time (no pun intended). And let's face it, it's much less anti-social than smoking, which can be another security thing. Also, security blankets for middle-aged women? Hair is definitely less weird!

Miaou · 10/06/2006 20:56

hmmm yes it is perhaps a symptom of not growing up really. My ends were always trimmed though. Dh gently suggested that at the age of 32 I should think of having it shorter (but then if he had his way I would have it very short)

notanotter · 10/06/2006 20:57

i think a lot of not-very-pretty-or-stylish-or-witty women have very long hair!

Gingerbear · 10/06/2006 20:59

I have seen beautiful old Asian women with exceedingly long grey hair.

Gingerbear · 10/06/2006 21:00

Philippinas all have gorgeous long tresses.

sugarfree · 10/06/2006 21:02

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 21:02

Well done Gingerbear.

notanotter · 10/06/2006 21:04

yeah or great red hair or something is forgiven!

sugarfree · 10/06/2006 21:04

Except the ones who have short hair Gingerbeer.Like the girls I work with.

sugarfree · 10/06/2006 21:07

You are missing the point ladies,it isn't long hair we are objecting too,it is very long hair that has never seen scissors,is rarely washed and probably has a musty smell to it.
(I can't swear to that,i don't get close enough)

beansprout · 10/06/2006 21:08

At least long haired people are pretty harmless. What about those hard faced middle aged women with short hair styles that have too much gel that look like they would beat you in a fight? No thanks. Then again, I could always make a grab for their gold hoop earrings Grin

TooTicky · 10/06/2006 21:09

Still a personal choice thing, makes me feel uncomfortable when people are criticised for their looks.

notanotter · 10/06/2006 21:11

i actually STARED at a woman of around 75 today with a nice t-shirt - knee length shorty linen things, flip flops and a half decent haircut and thought 'right...thats how i am going to look!'
(her hair was short and not permed!)

Tortington · 10/06/2006 21:14

i will do exactly that when you learn not to be so fucking rude PPH!
