How many of your outfits from 30 years can you still fit into ?

How many of your mothers and 'mature' friends can still fit into (and look half decent in) what they wore 30 years ago?

Impossible to tell. Vanity sizing in the shops nowadays has reduced my dress size from a 12 (teens) to an 8 yet my weight is about the same as its always been. I have funnily enough not kept any 30year old clothes to test!!!! Grin

I haven't got any Confused Princess Anne probably has bigger cupboards than me, and moves house less often.

I was a size 14 in 1983, I think. Some of my current clothes are 14s, but I'm pretty sure they're twice as big Blush So - none, because I don't have them, and none because I think I'm fatter.

Meh. She is my favourite royal, though. I might save her and Andy when I mount my republican pogrom.

I'm early 40s and still wear a couple of evening and summer dresses from 20 years ago. I would hope I'll still be able to wear them in 10 years time.

My 20 year old wedding dress needs taking in a good six inches around the waist to fit me for my wedding anniversary.
My ribcage is larger than it was then, but less padded ....

I have a couple of really classic pairs of jeans that I got as a teenager that now fit again.
And a couple of formal dresses (LBD) that never went out of fashion and still fit.

Vanity sizing is a real problem : my old jeans say 12, but I'm a modern 8 ....

My mum can, easy. SHe's 65. SHe never, ever throws anything out. She has only just got rid of her fur coat from before I was born.

I can fit into all my clothes from when I was 16. So...clothes from half my lifetime ago.

Disagree about the ribcage. I did believe that after DC when my clothes did not fit, but after losing weight - the ribcage thing is just a myth.
I have several dresses I fit from 30 years ago, and mourning the dresses I binned believing the ribcage bs Sad

I have been up and down in weight over the years but currently could fit into outfits from about 25 years ago (when I was 25), but not 30 years ago (I was very small when I was 20).

Not quite 30 years ago, but I am wearing a pair of trousers I bought 25 years ago. And they were from Mark One, which was a bit like New Look, and they're from the teenage section. They are my favourite summer trousers and have stood the test of time and washing machines. Cost per wear is about 0.00005p

Quite a few. Yes, I'm bigger and I think things like jeans have long gone. But baggy T-shirts still fit, and a Katherine Hamnett coat is still going strong. And I still have some special occasion only shoes/boots. My first ever grown up work suit is a bit too small, but still in the wardrobe (one bout by my mother from a Good Make which will Last), as are several things by Droopy and Brown.

Nope, I was three. :)

The oldest item of clothing I have is a denim skirt from diesel, It's 12 years old.
I only fit into it when at my thinnest, which is 11-11.5 stones and a size 12.
Currently 13 stone and a 14-16.

Oooh 30 years ago I was 17 (I'm ancient)
So , no, I wouldn't fit my 17 yo self clothes and nor would I want to Blush

Except shoes. Socks. Gloves.
