OP posts:
Tommy · 10/06/2006 19:06

noticed that my hairdresser had that done today (I was sitting with my head up side down while she was drying my hair so I had a good luck Grin)
Doesn't really bother me I have to say although i wouldn't do it.

foxinsocks · 10/06/2006 19:14

I don't like toes either

I'm amazed any of you have toes fit to be seen - don't your kids trample all over them? I have 2 bleeding toe nails today because ds is such a crab walker and I was wearing sandals.

The thought of long toe nails (long enough to french manicure) makes me shudder.

Tommy · 10/06/2006 19:25

I had a good look Blush

foxinsocks · 10/06/2006 19:31

yuk - they just scream 'stamp on me'

Verso · 10/06/2006 19:45

ewwwwww! Long toe nails! Why on earth would anyone do that? Had a look at some of the other pictures on that site and it also made me wonder (yet again) how women manage with those ultra-long fingernails.

I'm obviously a peasant Grin.

Lilliput · 10/06/2006 19:51

They would snag the sheets in bed surely!! Not nice.

Dior · 10/06/2006 19:51

I use the pale pinky/peachy colour on my toes, and it looks lovely, but I don't use the white bit for the end. My toe-nails are not over-long either. All that happens is that they look natural, without any white flecks or imperfections.

TwinsetandPearls · 10/06/2006 20:31

tomasinatank mine look nothing like that, they just look neat, rather than my normal ridged yucky nails

flutterbee · 10/06/2006 20:35

All I can say is yuck!!

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:35

french manicures are HORRIBLE on ANY nail, toe or finger.

and the french wouldn't be seen dead in a french manicure.

frenchgirl, back me up!

there is an article in the telegraph today that says "red for toes, nude for fingernails, no deviations" and I think she has a point (although I think you can be a BIT more exciting on the toes but never bright pink)

Cod · 10/06/2006 20:36

oh i am a bright pink toe gal
ds3 has opinions yo know

beansprout · 10/06/2006 20:36

Yuck. It's just part of an ever increasing trend to move away from what are bodies are supposed to look like and thinking that paint and plastic are where it's at instead.

Have just passed someone in the street with frenchie feet and, shocker, she had a leedle too much gold jewellery on too.

Too footballers' wives for my liking Grin

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:37

really? I think bright pink is a bit 60-yr-old-american-on-a-beach-in-a-kaftan-and-gold-jewellery-in-Barbados-ish

beansprout · 10/06/2006 20:39

Totally agree with you PPH and it SO clashes with orange skin...

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:39
Grin
sugarfree · 10/06/2006 20:40

Long nails on hands(like the runner that died had) and feet and really long hair make me shudder.
You know the hair I mean, usually someone in their thirties/forties,not had it cut since Primary two,not blunt at the end,all ratty and split. They can sit on it,its never shiny.Yuk yuk yuk.

noddyholder · 10/06/2006 20:41

m&s do a nail base perfecter thingy which looks really nice on its own without a topcoat just really smooth and polished looking Don't like bright colours really apart from a deep orange on someone with a great tan

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:42

god sugarfree, don't get me started on people with really long hair. And don't you agree that their entire PERSONALITY is bound up in their hair? I mean they just don't bother having one, they are just people-with-long-hair. Eugh

beansprout · 10/06/2006 20:43

Totally agree about old people long hair. Yeesh!

PrincessPeaHead · 10/06/2006 20:44

I'm going to start a thread about long hair

beansprout · 10/06/2006 20:45

And people with long hair who just constantly move it out of their face or rake it from side to side. JUST GET IT CUT FOR FU*KS SAKE!!!

noddyholder · 10/06/2006 20:45

I have long hair and I'm 41 and I don't think it defines me at all

sugarfree · 10/06/2006 20:46

They don't ever wear make up for a start and they wear sensible sandals with American tan tights.
The hair itself always has a very slight kink to it because they wear it in a big long chunky plait at night with their flanellette full length nighty.
And it is always mid brown +/- grey(s)

Writing that has actually made me retch.
