So if linen trousers (especially cropped and white) are a no no

What the hell am I supposed to replace them with?
I am large of arse (and pretty much everything else, size 26 Blush ), although actually have decent, in proportion, proportions.

My beloved white cropped linen trousers have been pretty much one of the staples of my holiday wardrobe, so if I don't wear them, tell me what I can/should wear on my hot holiday next month???

You don't have to do what strangers says on the internet, it's not the law Grin.

I'm going to be wearing mine! And my black ones. And my cream ones.

It's much more practical than shorts - and far more forgiving on the leg (and everyone else's eyes!)

Who says you can't wear linen trousers? I have four pairs and pretty much live in them when it's hot, and you can pry them from my cold dead legs.

I am a similar size and linen trousers are my savour in the summer. I don't do shorts as my legs look awful in them, so crops it is...

Sod what anyone else thinks.! I have them in blue, purple, black and brown.

i have 3 pairs of linen trousers, i love them, i dont like my 'milk bottle' legs, so they are a must for me in the summer.Dont listen to people who say 'you shouldnt be wearing them!'

You could try grey/charcoal for a change? I got some from sainsburys, very flattering but more summer (and unusual) than black.

Phew I've bought a pair this year, and sorted out the best, most respectable pants to wear underneath.Don't care if they are unhip. they're going to be worn Grin

(Just not while I'm eating anything messy though)

You've all made me very happy! I shall keep putting my fat backside into my linen trousers with glee not the singing glee, that would just be wrong
I'm sure I read on Mn a while back that white linen trousers were fashion death- not that I'm the most fashionable person but you know what I mean!

I love linen pants! Haven't had any in years, now would like some. Why shouldn't they look great? I say just pair them with a shirt that looks good on you, as you would with any other pants. And enjoy your lovely vacation.

I hate all this shouldn't wear it nonsense. If you feel comfortable and happy then buggar what anyone else thinks.

Cannot for the life of me see what is wrong with linen trousers and why there are nasty threads about them. Odd really.

linen trousers are fab
they look smart and cool and comfortable

do you remember the episode of miranda where she decided that she should her own makeover show? she went up to people in the street and said ' do you like that top you're wearing?are you comfortable in it? Brilliant!' and that was it!
that is what i think-if you are comfy and you like what you're wering who gives two hoots what anyone else thinks?

I think they're a good alternative to shorts especially if you're not proud of your knees but you have to make sure your footwear isn't bulky

I've got white linen cropped trousers on today what's wrong with them???

I've been gloating as they are size 10 and huge on me (have lost a stone since last year) was going to buy size 8 linen trousers, I'm a 38 yo mum of four I am not fashionable
