Thinking about treating myself. Ideas gratefully received, equally ones to avoid too.
Was thinking about a shampoo bar but reviews are very mixed.

I love 'Olive Branch' shower gel and 'Angels on Bare Skin' face cleanser.

I had a shampoo bar once. I couldn't get my head around the idea of no lather though

EMUZ · 04/06/2013 20:50

Feeling younger highlighter. Not glittery just glowy, great to mix with moisturiser or foundation

Avobath does have v fine glimmer but doesn't stick and smells amazing
The comforter bubble bar, black currant scent and no glitter

Face masks are all lovely

Aqua mirablis body scrub

bigbuttons · 04/06/2013 20:50

some people love the shampoo bars and the are supposed to lather!

Flying Fox shower gel, pricey but the scent is just seductive. very heady and the gel leaves your skin baby soft

meglet · 04/06/2013 20:57

I used to work there and never liked the glitter products.

Blue Skies and Amandopondo bubble bars are nice.

Helping Hands cream. greasy but does the job on dry hands.

Shangrila face cream.

Shower gels are all good. Aqua mirabilis body scrub also effective.

BoyMeetsWorld · 04/06/2013 21:00

I second flying fox...or Lust perfume is the same scent, love it. American Cream solid perfume is yummy too

Loupee · 04/06/2013 21:02

I have a shampoo bar, it purple, called something Juniper I think. I love it, it definitely does lather, and that along with veganese conditioner means my hair is not a lanky, greasy mess by the end of the day!

bigbuttons · 04/06/2013 21:04

I am hankering after the 'lust' perfume. I think American cream perfume is no longer available, it sounds wonderful.Sad
i say 'no glitter' as there was a v. v. funny thread on here a while back by a poster who'd got glitter stuck in her fanjo from a glittery bath bomb and couldn't get it outGrin Not that I'm with anyone so I don't suppose it matters reallyWink

Great:

Helping Hands
Dream Cream
Angels on Bare Skin
Oatifix Mask
Ultrabland cleanser
Eau Roma toner
Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bath bubbles
The purple shampoo bar (which does lather up)
Rub Rub Rub salt scrub
Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze hair mask - brilliant this one
The various dusting powders are nice too

All of these are good with my sensitive skin. I love Lush.

Vegehamwidge · 04/06/2013 21:06

Haha LifeofPo - well I can't get close to the store without sneezing my head off and crying. Allergen station!

bigbuttons · 04/06/2013 21:09

whoknows I made myself the 'angels on bare skin" after looking t the ingredients, happened to have nearly all of them in the cupboard! It was easy to do and worked great. Must make some more!
I got some henna from lush the other day to do the greys on my fringe. i really liked the smell. I will get the hair mask then as I love the condition my hair was in after using it.
Do you know the name of the shampoo bar? was it the 'new' one or the 'juniper'?

I love the blue skies bubble bar, karma soap and buffy scrubbing bar which is quite abrasive so not for everyone but has lovely oils in it as well. I also like the deodorant bar but can't remember what it's called...smells of patchouli which I love!
I want to buy some lush stuff now Grin

Steffanoid · 04/06/2013 21:18

the shower jellys are nice, my fave is sweety pie, and my oh likes wooosh Smile you can put them in the fridge and it's lovely on a cold day

I like the glittery bath bombs but I am childish liking glitter the gold one is brill and the red one. they leave glitter on the bath for ages and ages though

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 04/06/2013 21:20

I love Dream Cream (if they stop making this I will cry), the fresh face masks, especially Cupcake and Butterball. Marilyn is also great if you are blonde.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/06/2013 21:22

Must have been the juniper, I have had it for several years as I only tend to use it on holiday.

I've never thought of re-creating the products - what a good idea!

I love the henna, use those quite reguiarly, forgot to mention that.

I only buy bath bombs for the DCs as I don't like baths, but avaoid anything with bits or glitter in.

Also, not impressed with a piece of hi-vis yellow soap I was given for Christmas, not sure what it's called, but it is truly day-glo, it makes such a mess of the sink and soapdish.

Save any black pots you get, wash them and take back 5 of them to get a free fresh face mask.

Oh and ask for samples, the staff are really helpful and give out decent samples very happily.

HazleNutt · 04/06/2013 21:27

I love Honey I washed the kids soap and It's raining men shower gel.
Lush retro Slammer shower gel is great, smells good enough to eat. And Bohemian soap is excellent for kitchen, to get rid of all the fish or onion smells on your hands.
Yuzu bubbleroon bubble bar.

I second the Olive Branch shower gel but my favourite product is Big shampoo. I've strayed from it over the years but always go back to it.

I also like the vanilla delight body lotion, smells gorgeous.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/06/2013 21:49

Has anyone tried the Rub Rub Rub as a shampoo? DH bought me a box of Lush stuff and there was a pot of it in it, I was reading the label in the shower this morning and it says you can use it on hair?

bowlingforsoup · 04/06/2013 21:54

Twilight bath bombs are amazing. I use them about 3 times a week and I honestly come out of my bathroom (spa Wink) feeling so much more relaxed and happy.

The Dorothy bubble bar is beautiful too.

I spend far too much money in that shop but those are my two favourite products

HenriettaPye · 04/06/2013 22:03

The purple bubble bar, it's black currant scented, I think it's the comforter or something! It's delicious! Smells so good I want to eat it!!

bigbuttons · 04/06/2013 22:03

right I shall make a trip in and get some samples! I was going to buy online! Oh dear money is going to be spent here!
Thank you so much for all your ideas!
