This dress to get married in?

I am getting married on 30th June. The ceremony is quite informal so I don't want a really weddingy wedding dress, but I do want something gorgeous. What do you think about this dress? It's from America so I'd have to order it, but I've emailed them and that doesn't seem to be a problem.

I'm 48 btw so not a 20 yr old bride! My picture is on my profile so let me know if you think it suits me. Cheers!

I can see the appeal of the dress aND the colour will certainly be beautiful on you. What do you like best about it? I'm afraid, to me, it doesn't quite work looks a bit like a Lipsy dress designed by a middle aged American.

Just concerned if it's coming from America, could it be held up by customs?

I know of people having gifts held up for six weeks in customs.

Thanks for the responses! Mrs Lettuce, yes that's a good point. I suppose the only way of knowing is to get it and try it on.

Kelda, I emailed the company and they said the average time it takes to ship to the UK is 7 days, so I should be OK.

Anyway, thanks for the positive replies!

I think the dress is absolutely appropriate. It's not something I would choose but it would look like a sack on me (plus of course it's not my wedding...)

Lovely dress but would be worried about delivery just in case something went wrong. Qhat about Ghost? They have dye to order dresses and also wedding dresses - I'm too short and stumpy to wear them but you would carry them off beautifully without a doubt

Oh no!! I like all of the dresses you have suggested! I might go to Debenhams and try a few styles on to see which would best suit me.

The bridesmaids are my daughter (22) and my niece (13). they can wear whatever they like. I've said they can choose their dresses so as long as they pick something reasonably neutral, it should be fine. I really don't want it to be a formal day, I want everyone to wear whatever they like, jeans or smart. It's at a very old building and then back to my house for a hog roast and barbecue in the garden. And loads of booze!!
