This dress to get married in?

I am getting married on 30th June. The ceremony is quite informal so I don't want a really weddingy wedding dress, but I do want something gorgeous. What do you think about this dress? It's from America so I'd have to order it, but I've emailed them and that doesn't seem to be a problem.

I'm 48 btw so not a 20 yr old bride! My picture is on my profile so let me know if you think it suits me. Cheers!

Very elegant.
the lightbox dress doesn't have the beautiful drapey cowl though which is so special.
But I would be nervous about the US too. can you get a dress in the UK? You won't feel secure till it is hanging on the back of the door!

I do think it's a lovely dress and will look stunning on the OP. The only worry I would have is it's a bit bridesmaid-y. So I'm curious as to what the bridesmaids, if any, would be wearing.

Someone said to me when I was choosing a dress to bear in mind that when it comes to the photos, you want to look like the bride, and stand out from anyone else there!

I didn't wear a conventional bridal dress either, but it was long, and my only bridesmaid was my sister and she wore a lovely suit. I was the only one there in a long dress and it did make a difference.

Badtasteyoni - my hair is long and very straight so I thought I'd curl it like in a couple of my pics and just have a ring of flowers in it. I want to look a bit hippyish and floaty if you get what I mean. No veil or anything.

Olgaga, the bridesmaids won't be in long dresses. They both want skater type dresses. I've said they can have whatever they like as long as the colour goes with me!

I would be slightly nervous about ordering from the US in case the sizing is funny or whatever but I guess if you order asap then you have time to rethink?

Well I got married yesterday!! Had the most amazing day, completely perfect. I didn't get that dress in the end, I wore a completely different one.

I loved it and ended up looking exactly the way I wanted. I loved the flowers and dress. The sun shone and we all had a fab day. I've put some pics on my profile.
