Genuine long lasting foundation that's quick and easy to apply?

Can anyone recommend a really good foundation that does last at least 12 hours? I've seen lots of mentions of Revlon's Colourstay but I'd prefer something I can just slap on very quickly, and all the reviews of Colourstay I've seen suggest you have to be quite careful how you apply it as it dries quickly.

Bare Minerals.

Primer is key to getting it to stay on ime.

I read somewhere that while you buff, sing Happy Birthday twice. That gives you the time you need to buff for.
But I look/sound like a pillock when I'm singing

The best primer to use with BM is Lanacane anti chaff gel - it's the same as expensive Smashbox stuff. You can snigger but it's £6 and amazing

I find that if I use a primer, my foundation always stays on very well.

I use YSL Touche Eclat foundation, which I really like a lot, a Chantecaille one which is ££ and Chanel Aqualumiere which I also very much like. All are very easy to apply and lightweight.

estee lauder doublewear. I discovered it after a thread in here and am now a convert.

Mineral foundation isn't quick and easy to apply!

Yy Doublewear. I don't use it anymore as it's very high coverage, but you can apply with fingers or brush v quickly. Maybe Doublewear Light is worth a try? Always highly recommended on here.

It's quicker than liquid/cream imo.

Bare minerals isn't easy or quick to apply. And it is messy. And not a good idea for sensitive skin (it made my skin go red with the buffing, then orange (when the foundation changed colour) and then red again with the itch.

Doublewear is like pva glue and goes patchy if you have dry skin.

Personally, god knows . I think you have easy slappable onnable dewy finish foundation which you need to reapply halfway through the day or stuff which sticks like shit to a blanket but which takes a long time to apply. I don't think there is a happy medium tbh.

Mind you I was very impressed at a girl who put false eyelashes on on the central line at rush hour one morning.

another vote for ester lauder doublewear light. I used to wear it when I worked overseas in a v.hot climate, it didn't budge. def wouldn't get the regular version although it gives good coverage, its far too thick, gloopy and messy to apply unless you've got loads of time and are good with a brush.

there's a good max factor long-lasting one too, can't remember the name.

I have a special BM travel brush for buses and trains.

I've just started using Maxfactors all day flawless 3in1 foundation and am really happy with it.

I use a Clarins one.

I think its called everlasting foundation, or something like that.

I smear it on with fingers which takes a minute, tops, and it lasts all day, unless I have to blow my nose a lot for some reason.

It gives a lovely dewy finish.

I was going to rave about Bare Minerals too but was beaten to it! Fantastic for sweaty commutes, takes a few minutes, great if you suffer from (hormonal) breakouts or acne. I have much better skin and don't even carry it with me as it lasts so well. The "radiance" powder is lovely for a special occasion or to brighten up tired/hung over eyes. (used on my wedding day).

DoubleWear is very good but quite expensive (although very worth it!).

For a cheaper alternative Revlon Colourstay is very good, it has two varieties dry/normal oily/normal so you can taylor it to you skin type, although like Doublewear it is quite high coverage.

Wow, more replies than I expected! I currently use Benefit, primer and powder, which just takes a little more time than I want - ridiculously rushed mornings at the moment, but then haven't we all! - so I suspect the Bare Minerals one might take a bit longer than I was thinking of, I was imagining something to slap on quickly, like GetOrf says. I might go get some testing with the Estee Lauder and Clarins ones (thanks for the tip about the light version, dontyou). If they don't seem to last long enough then I'll try Bare Minerals.

Can i be really nosey and ask the age of the MNers using BM ? I had a make over at their counter before xmas and not only did the girl give me ginger bloody side burns with the bronzer, but she also made me look about 105 yrs old.....with a bad tan. Never thought i had lots of wrinklres but that stuff showed up every single line on my face !

I must be a voice of dissent here. Whilst Double Wear (so orangy, ugh)and ColourStay are both long lasting, they are old tech foundations that are a bit drying and yet don't have good oil breakthrough control. Both foundations highlight fine lines and pores in a most unflattering way after 8 hrs of wear, and can be very, very aging.

Better, long lasting foundations: Budget choice is Maybelline 25hr wear which is much more flattering than the abovementioned ones, and has better oil control than either Revlon or Double Wear. Higher budget? Go for Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish. Vastly more flattering that the others and much better oil control, shades to suit human beings too, unlike the clementine-hued offerings from EL.

Forgot to say, thanks to S&B I bought the Real Techniques brushes and they are FAB and cut the foundation application time down and help with long wearing properties of the foundation. Really worth the modest cost, those brushes!

Rimmels 25hr foundation is fantastic for staying power, and I say this as a complete makeup snob!

I also rate "mineral" foundation but wasn't that impressed with bare escentuals (or any of the"high street" versions that came out.

I use Lily Lolo which is easy to apply and long lasting (plus easy to do a quick fix on). It comes in lots of different shades and you can get tester pots to check the colour is right before "investing" and it's more reasonably priced that the bare escentuals stuff.

Plus their brushes are great - I couldn't believe how soft they are in comparison to the other ones I've tried.
