What shoes should I be wearing with a jersey dress?

I have a few jersey dresses that I would like to wear to work (teacher in primary school). When it is warm enough I wear them with sandals but at the moment it isn't warm enough for sandals.However, I am not sure which type of shoe would go.

Mostly they are either empire line type dresses, either knee length or a bit longer than knee length.

I have ballet pumps but they don't just feel right iyswim. I cannot do heels though (well not high ones). Most of all they have to be comfotable as well as stylish...

Any suggestions?

I wear mine with a knee length, close fitting boot or a mary-jane shoe and opaques.

Yes I wear them with boots sometimes in the winter but I need something for inbetween winter and summer. Ummm mary janes - are they the ones with a strap?

Forgot to mention some of them are wrap style dresses.

yes... the ones with straps - due to my skinny feet allowing shoes to get left behind when I walk if they don't have over the foot straps.

I wear mine with Mary Janes too.

Perhaps I should go and try some on. I have very wide feet though and always worry that they would look awful on.

You wide footed types have far more choice of shoe than us skinny footed beasts.

Where do you get the Mary Janes? I need to buy some today for a conference next week. They MUST be super comfortable, black and not frumpy! (Am in panic)

if you have wider feet try Evans, I got a pair of Mary Jane's from there a couple of years ago and they were honestly the comfiest heels I have ever worn, simple as well, black with a tan innar and a wooden look heel, all leather as well

I tried Evans yesterday and they had a pair where the 6 was way too big, the 5 was too big (am normally a 5.5) and the 4 was too small. Tsk!

I got some really comfortable black suede ish Mary Janes from clarkes. They were part of the Mary Portas range so I ordered them online but they are so soft and have an inner padded sole.

It was last winter though.

I bought these and I can tell you that they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on!

I'm also a teacher and will be wearing them when I return from ML

Just saw you can't do heels but do wedges count as heels?

here Wrap dress is a bit like this. But mine has a silver buckle at the waist and the skirt flaps open in the wind.

normally I would say heels but- teacher in a primary school oyu might feel a bit overly formal
I would say a wedge as well. If oyu got a nude it wouldnt feel too wintery either.

Ok well super comfy black and not frumpy was what I was looking for. I've actually got these in red and sort of teal blue to decide between......

Yup I know . But they HAVE to be comfy and this is the best I could do.

I would like to think I could wear those wedge ones all day but tbh I'd be a cripple!

I like those northern but not sure they would go with my dresses....

My 15 yr old hates them so much she won't give any opinion.

I'm thinking of this dress with black opaques. The blue sort of ties in with the grey or should I go red for some contrast?

White Stuff for wedges! I don't do heels either, but White Stuff wedges are some of the mist comfy shoes I have ever had. I have three pairs! Great for my wide feet, and good with jersey dresses!

I want a pair of these, but I have to try shoes on before buying.

What about these, OP? They come in patent too if you prefer.
