Cotton nightwear for late pregnancy and post birth

Not the most exciting request I know but am struggling already to keep cool at night and ideally want some nightwear for now / in hospital / after birth that is cool and flattering enough to be seen in!
Anyone?

I got Matalan ones for this purpose. Did the job and were nice and cool for labour/afterwards.

Oh dear!

here

Can I recommend you get something stretchy & sleeveless/short sleeved, so if you end up needing a drip up, it can be fed through the sleeves.

Most of our ladies go for Primark nighties.

revolvenotevolve · 07/05/2013 10:20

Why are cotton nighties in light and pale colours?! Drives me mad - the last thing you want in hospital are obvious blood stains.
Op I suggest lounge type yoga pants and a night shirt or support camivest

Ooh mrs lettuce that looks promising. Thanks.
I remember the night sweats post birth were dire last time I need lots of cool nightwear.
Yes revolve it's very hard to find something that will fulfil all of the above. I am also struggling to find a cheap dark dressing gown. I seem to recall ending up wearing one of DHs fleeces in hospital last time for some reason!
Hopefully the hospital bit will be brief so am going to focus on cool, pretty and practical options for after.
I have been looking at the white company longingly but don't think they will be good enough on easy access for night feeds.

If it's any help I got a plain black thin jersey dressing gown from asda recently I think it was £7.99.

Liveinthepresent · 08/05/2013 09:12

Thanks hugo will definitely check that out.Smile

Some nice maternity nighties on la redoute

Liveinthepresent · 08/05/2013 23:09

That's very tempting hugo - especially a dark colour.
Any idea if la redoute customer service is as rubbish as Vertbaudet? I assume so - in which case I had better order it tomorrow!

I think it's all the same company, but I've not had any problem with them unless you count the endless offers of discounts and free gifts.

WillSingForCake · 09/05/2013 15:00

I had these and loved them. So comfy. One of the only pieces of maternity wear I had which I wasn't pleased to see the back of!

FrenchRivieraMum · 09/05/2013 16:16

I wore these tunics that are so soft + in 100% cotton and in bright colours! They really made me feel good, so good I'm still wearing them now years after my pregnancies!! Great for lounging about the house while staying feminine and I did sleep in them sometimes too: www.tortuedemer.com/lang-en/25-long-kaftans-3-4-length-sleeves

Primark do good button down cotton nighties.

Liveinthepresent · 09/05/2013 21:02

Ooh more suggestions - am loving the Melba ones WillSing might try the nightdress and robe as would kill two birds... And the tunics look lovely too FrenchRiviera - at this rate I might end up with quite a collection!
