whats the most you have ever spent on a hair CUT?

And was it worth it?
I got an appointment with Julie and she was $54!! I have never spent that much in my LIFE!

Its a good cut but its an average hairdressers chosen for a trim rather than a new look.
It serves me right for not checking but I never THOUGHT that anywhere in these parts charges that much.

£49 really pissed me off as I'd been to the same stylist about a 6 months earlier and paid £29 but apparently she'd graduated to senior stylist in that time Angryshe was a trainee the year before!

And it wasn't worth it, I was in and out t in less than 30 mins! No head massage that I normally get!

lol at graduated. Do you think they do an exam?
In Germany I believe they do have proper national qualifications, not an NVQ then made up titles

Totally worth it - I freaking love my hairdresser and am afraid to see anyone else (apart from original hairdresser who has been featured in VOGUE and who I share with Erin O'Connor) in case they bugger my hair up.

I believe in France they have to train for at least 7 years or something.

I have a style director i think he calls himself, and he is good. I tried to save 20 euro and go cheaper last cut but i regret it now. even before the cheapER (not cheap) cut was finished i was thinking, shit ten weeks before I can go back to the style time lord.

No comment on amount but I spent a fortune in Toni&Guy once and hated what I left with. Have never been back and now just go to a local hairdressers where they do exactly what I want for less than half the Toni&Guy price

Once ended up paying £60 for an average haircut which apparently had 20percent off! I swiftly changed salon and now go too a place where they charge a set price for all stylists and they are great!

15-20 years ago I used to spend £45 on haircuts, which felt ridiculously extravagant. Not sure if it was worth it but I suspect not!

I now pay £15 for a wet cut from a fab hairdresser who was trained by Vidal Sassoon in the 60s. He's more than worth it and I'm absolutely dreading him retiring. Sad

£39 just for a cut. I have paid more than that for a cut and colour. Most expensive ever was a cut and colour in Vidal Sassoon but it was 17 or 18 years ago and I can't remember how much. I left with what would have been a lovely haircut on someone else but didn't suit my personality or lifestyle at all.

about £59 i think, when working in central London.
it was ok - although i think better to go either really cheap, or really expensive. i just went there because I could be in and out in my lunch hour.

i now pay £22 for a similar finish

Probably about £50. I have no idea how much a cut costs as I always get a colour and some products too...which comes to over £100.

My hairdresser trims, but he knows what to do, as he's been cutting my hair since he was a teenager and I had a vast expendable income. Now he's some sort of god sylist in this town and I can barely afford him.

£55 years ago in toni & guy. Went with the artistic director and the cut was bloody amazing. It just got better and better over the following 6 months too.

£53 for artistic director (10 years ago) he told me off for not coming more often. It wasn't a great haircut and I've never been back.

I treated myself to a £250 cut with a celebrity hairdresser for my 30th. I wanted that 'i finally look like the chic adult me!' moment. He gave me a mullet. Think somewhere between Linda McCartney in the Mull of Kintyre video and Kevin Keegan, circa 1982.

I left the salon in shock, still reeling from his G-list name dropping, then burst into tears because i hated it so much. Friends made me go back the next day for a mulletectomy with some lowly minion. At that point I looked like Glenn Hoddle but frankly it was an improvement.

Now I get my hair cut for £35 by a stylist who's Aveda trained but works for a local salon. Best it's ever looked.

ha ha ha ha! i am gonna have to do my pelvic floor exercises again because I burst out laughing at £250 for a mullet and then having to crawl back the next day for a 'mulletectomy'. Grin omg, sorry to laugh but i hope you got £250 worth of a good story for your friends out of that one. i had a similar episode at a hairdresser who charged £30 and had english as her second language and there was a breakdown in communication. It was over ten years ago and I still remember the PTSD. Next time, I give up on trying to save a tenner. I'm going to the hairdresser I know can cut it well for 45.
