Got my chinos today and tried them on. Haven't taken them off since! Lovely soft material, with a bit of elastic give in them for extra comfort. A bit heavy for proper warm weather, but with spring again offering wind and sleet, just right!

Unfortunately the tops I ordered with it weren't so great. And with it still not that warm, I'm looking for a sweater to wear with them that can double out as outside wear. I'm pretty busty on top, so high necks can be a bit matronly on me. Any suggestions for a spring-like sweater?

I'm losing patience with the mumsy thread. The arguments start out quite amusing but quickly turn bitchy.

Haven't had chance to have a proper look at all the links although I do love that gap sweater that was linked to (maybe one for you andi)?

My new bras arrived today and I am now the proud owner of 30f rather than 32e norks! Although I was started on the pill last week (by gynae for endometriosis) and I feel like I've got pregnant boobs that are swollen and painful so hoping that I don't grow out of them. At least dh is happy with these even if he does hate the red lippy Wink Grin.

MrsRadicchio · 29/04/2013 21:47

Hi all,

Lots going on here!

Shop I hear you on the toddler tantrums (I think our DS's are a similar age, mine is 2.9) Yesterday DS surpassed himself and spat in MIL's eye Shock though she is now acting as though he is some kind of feral child!

Like the look of the Me&em dresses, had never heard of them before coming onto MN.

I like the trainers hopefully - can you link once you have them, and alternatives you looked at? Like your bertie flats too, I was looking at a Sam edelman pair a while ago but they sold out after I linked them on here...retailers should pay us comission!

Am also in the "red lips look chic" camp, though am only starting to experiment with lipstick. I like those revlon lip butters, just bought a redish one that I think looks good. QueenC I think Liberty speaks a lot of sense about why your DH might be being negative about the red lipstick.

Carrie I like your purchases, especially the bright ones.

QueenCadbury · 29/04/2013 21:49

Meant to add that if washing cashmere/delicates use these. I've had too many items fall out of pillow cases in the machine but these keep them securely zipped in.

QueenCadbury · 29/04/2013 21:52

I agree, I think liberty was definately talking sense (thanks liberty) Didn't have a chance to say that last night as dc3 woke up screaming the place down. Ended up having to sleep with her so have been in a sleep deprived coma all day. And yet, I'm still up and on MN...

AndiMac · 29/04/2013 22:02

Travelin good idea to check eBay, that hadn't crossed my mind.

Will look back for the Gap sweater, thanks QueenC

Ohhh love the idea of neon trainers Hopefully and find it hilarious that you have made the leap from ?will I be able to rock daytime trainers?? to going for a neon version in a matter of days!

Carrie I love your Gap purchases ? the trousers especially. Dare you to wear them together even if just around the house Grin

I wash cashmere and silk on the silk cycle on my machine with woolite and some fabric softener and then I do a very short, lowest setting spin and dry flat on a towel (or with silk, hang it over the bath on a hanger). So far no disasters. Might be daft but I always pop things on me when wet to make sure it hasn?t shrunk?I do look like a mad women though pulling wet jumpers on and off in the kitchen.

Andimac This is the Gap sweater to save going back and there is a V-neck version too. Quick question on the chinos ? for people between sizes would you recommend going up or down?

MrsSheepiness · 30/04/2013 00:50

Hello all, I forgot just how fast this thread moves, the sheep household has been struck down with a lovely bug so no time for MN or fashion....or even really getting out of our pj's....

To celebrate a return to fighting fitness I have ordered the Zarita in both navy and nude plus this scarf as I had a discount code from matches for spend £300 save £100 on DVF so I thought rude not to take advantage!! Also got free next day delivery so even more exciting....I can feel more matches orders coming on to take advantage of this!!!

Drywhiteplease · 30/04/2013 06:38

Nice MrsSheep....glad all better now

Hopefully · 30/04/2013 06:49

I know Liberty! My style needs a bit of edge to work, and it became apparent that plain old trainers weren't going to work, they needed to be 'more'. And I am deeply in love with the neon trend.

Thanks for all nail varnish links! Exactly what I was hoping for. Will check in town later for any of those, and order online otherwise.

Pants, DS2 is up. Laters...

shopafrolic · 30/04/2013 07:56

lots of Acne on Brand Alley this morning!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 30/04/2013 09:50

Love the DVF dress MrsS. Especially the nude one.

I am only fantasy shopping here but what do you think nice or naff?

Hopefully · 30/04/2013 10:16

Some nice Sam Edelman sandals on The Outnet this morning but they don't go up to my huge size. I have however just jumped onto the Havaiana bandwagon - lots of colours in the slimmer fit here, and various prices - the ones I've gone for were £13.99.

MrsRadicchio · 30/04/2013 10:21

I like it Paris. I love these trousers in the same range. I really have a soft spot for leather harem trousers Hmm

Doing some mindless browsing while DS2 naps...

These shoes look nice, well made, good option for the workers amongst us? I love the pink loafers but don't think I'd get any wear out of them.

MrsRadicchio · 30/04/2013 10:22

Markus Lupfer stuff on secret sales too. A lot sold out, mind.

AmberNectarine · 30/04/2013 11:28

Those loafers are frigging awesome MrsR - I want the monochrome!

shopafrolic · 30/04/2013 11:46

Remind me ladies - if I'm a 40 in Ash and a UK 7 / 7.5 will I fit a US10 in Sam Edelman?

OP posts:
Annianni · 30/04/2013 11:55

I'm a 6 in ash shop and a us9 in SE

Decameron · 30/04/2013 12:10

I'm a EU40 and a US9.5, Shop.

Lovely dresses, Sheep. I have that scarf in another colourway, love DVF scarves. Matches didn't send me that code, the rats!

Hope DD is better now, QueenC.

BrandyAlexander · 30/04/2013 12:37

Afternoon all! Lying by pool on shady bit as its 32 deg. I had my first bit of proper me time in years with a half day spa session. Boy the masseuse worked those knots!Shock glad I didn't go for this massage when we first arrived else my body would be a wreck.

Today's dress is a halter neck geometric sun dress from Oasis. It's got green, blue black and white bits so I am matching that with accessories. A shell that's been painted turquoise and strung on necklace, Accessorize turquoise and white bracelet and then green dangly earrings. Steel watch, ankle bracelet and havianas too. Overall very high street today.Smile

Decameron, glad to hear your dd is better.

foxysocks · 30/04/2013 12:59

i'm a 5/38 and a US8 in SE

QueenCadbury · 30/04/2013 13:59

dec she's fine thanks. A few spots on her face developed yesterday so I thought she may be getting chickenpox but no more so obviously not. Glad to hear your dc is better now too.

Popped to the shops today as dd needed new shoes. She's very happy with her new shiny trainers with flashing lights. Tried on the fatface top that you all hated and god, you were all right, it was hideous. The epitome of mumsiness Wink. Glad I bought the jaegar even if I'm still feeling guilty at the price! Nothing else really caught my eye which is good as I have dm, dh and dd's birthday coming up. I've set myself the challenge of buying dm 60 presents (she'll be 60). I bought dh 40 last year which was hard enough so not sure I'll manage it. Hope they both put this much effort into my big one later in the year Grin.

pickledsiblings · 30/04/2013 14:07

Ha ha Queen about the Fatface top. Bet you feel better now about your Jaeger one. I went for a mooch around Liberty on Sunday and could quite happily shop in there for all my needs. OMG the shoes, the clothes . Sadly I am not a rich Russian.

Hopefully · 30/04/2013 14:09

QueenC maybe just one for every decade...

Right, need to go to town. Will remember my wallet this time...
