OK, I know some people don't bother but, for those that do, what pants do you wear under gym wear?

What do you wear under tight capri length leggings type gym wear.

I just can't go commando, doesn't seem (or feel) right but on the other hand VPL bothers me. I don't do thongs either.

Is there such a thing as cotton, non-VPL big pants that don't end up in the wrong place IYSWIM?

I can't go commando either! I wear black pants. Not especially big ones, but they dont give me too much of a VPL - not that I really bother about that too much!

EleanorFarjeon · 21/04/2013 21:01

All of my running tights/capris have a proper gusset, it wouldn't occur to me to wear pants as well.

Abzs · 21/04/2013 21:02

Wicking pants, not cotton.

I like Lowe Alpine dryflo.

dexter73 · 21/04/2013 21:07

I just wear whatever pants I have on at the time. VPL doesn't bother me.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2013 21:07

Abzs - I just google to see what they are. Do you mean this sort of thing? They seem a bit...er, big! (even by my standards Grin)

A thong, they don't get rucked up.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2013 21:11

Noooooo! Not a thong!

The chafing!

OP posts:
ilovepowerhoop · 21/04/2013 21:12

I wear big light control M&S pants

ifancyashandy · 21/04/2013 21:16

Cotton thong here too. No chaffing ever been experienced.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2013 21:20

ilovepowerhoop - are they high waisted and/or shorts in style?

I'm thinking that because I wear bog standard M&S bikini brief style pants then maybe I'm not doing myself any favours as you see the VPL on both the leg and top IYSWIM.

If they were high waisted and shorts length then I guess I'd avoid the VPL on bum cheeks and top of briefs??

I am not ever, ever, going to go commando underneath my gym shorts/leggings. Imagine if the seams split?!

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2013 21:28

Shock - its just not worth the risk is it BIWI?!

OP posts:
BIWI · 21/04/2013 21:32

Absolutely not. Especially as my trainer is a 24 yo young man!

ilovepowerhoop · 21/04/2013 21:39

I have some like this. I need the high waist as powerhooping makes pants fall down a bit and I hate when they end up under my overhang!!

daisydoodoo · 21/04/2013 21:41

Seam free m&s pants. Cant go commando when running or exercising just feels yuck.

ilovepowerhoop · 21/04/2013 21:42

what about something like these?

daisydoodoo · 21/04/2013 21:44

No vpl they are called if you search m&s they do a range of different ones.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2013 21:45

I think the problem with a lot of those big pants though is the fact they seem to be largely man-made fibres and scream 'sweaty' and 'thrush inducing' !

Sloggi do perfect non vpl cotton ones, they last for years, do not lose their shape and do not give you a wedgie.

Chandon · 21/04/2013 21:48

The one and only:

I have some plain black boyshorts that I wear under my running capris. They are comfy, and no VPL.

MirandaWest · 21/04/2013 21:52

I wear whatever pair I get out of the drawer first

Zoomania · 21/04/2013 21:54

I have some great seam-free Sloggi ones. They have never seen a gym though! Great for no VPL.

PastaBeeandCheese · 21/04/2013 21:56

Plain cotton M&S thong. Ugliest thing you've ever seen but perfect for under running trousers.

LadyMountbatten · 21/04/2013 21:57

Have you ever seen seams spilt ? I haven't in 10 years at the gym
