Zatchels are having a 24 hour 50% off sale tomorrow. It's advertised on their Facebook page. I'm tempted but don't know whether to go for a classic colour (probably the navy) or one of the metallics. Has anyone ordered from them and could you recommend a colour? Thanks!

I got mine today Smile got the dispatch email on the 22nd. The certificate that comes with it said it was made on the 22nd so i think they may be shipping out as soon as they are made. I love mine anyone know how long they take to soften up? The leather is rock solid and rigid lots of room though. I got a 14 and a half pink pastel satchel. The pink is lovely, much nicer than i thought.

So - I've finally had a response to my email asking what might be the ETA of the bag I've ordered, and why I've not received any updates. Below is reply, in case it helps anyone else:

Your saddle bag is currently in the factory waiting to be cut. It will be being cut at the start of next week and then go to be stitched. There are a lot of saddle bags working their away through the factory at the moment so it will likely take a while to be dispatched but should be with you by the end of the month.

What this does mean, however, is that I won't now get the 1 bag I managed to keep in my basket before my discount code (to order those that wouldn't stay in!), runs out. Bugger. So please share more honest feedback, those who have actually received their bags!

Hi Hazel, right i have just filled stuffed my bag and its fitting my essentials which is phone, pens, lip balms, cotton shopping bag rolled up, purse and an A5 stuffed to the brim filofax and sunglasses Smile

Hello all.
I have been looking at the Junkyard satchel - the distressed brown leather.
I just wondered if any of you ordered that style and, if so, is the leather softer or still very hard as the other coloured sachels appear??

I'm sick of waiting have lost interest. They don't reply to emails and can't be arsed to find out where it is in the factory. They have been sat on the money for some time now.

I don't care how nice the bag is I will never order from them again.

My order says 'printed'when I check on my account. Whatever that may mean. I wouldn't buy from them again either.

"Printed" means it's in the factory being stitched AFAIK.

I'm cool with waiting - the discount was significant. I know I'll get them eventually :)

I'm fed up of waiting too, they should not take money until it is despatched. If they are happy to take my money then they should respond to e-mails! I ordered two bags, one for DD who has forgotten all about it, the other is for me for holiday. If it doesn't arrive by then it will be going back!

It's such a shame that some people haven't received replies. Every time I emailed them during the sale and after I received a swift reply, often in a few minutes.

They have been so friendly and helpful to me, I can't praise them enough.

I use gmail, do you think it's anything to do with email addresses? A friend of mine has fsmail.net and its rubbish as emails can take ages to come through and some not at all.

vjg13/JennySense - mine has said printing for over a week, and they emailed today and said it's still waiting to be cut.

So, tbh - I don't think 'printing' mean much in Zatchels-speak. Confused

I'm quite fed up now. I can't even get through to them by phone. I have no idea what will happen if my bag is sent for delivery while I am away and it can't be delivered.

Honestly, if they were going to have a big sale then they should have limited how many orders they tool e.g. first fifty orders gets 50% discount, instead of taking limitless orders then being unable to fulfil them.

I wonder if they have even seen this thread.

Firstly, apologies for the long wait and slow communication. We are working hard to try and keep everyone up to date on their orders but we acknowledge that some of you have had to wait a long time for responses. We also appreciate that it can be very frustrating to not know what is happening with your order and are trying to make sure that we provide better updates moving forward.

We have been working hard to make and send out as many bags as we can each day. The factory has been working as much overtime as possible to achieve this while maintaining the high standard of quality that we demand for all of our bags. Our customer service team have also been working tirelessly, including evenings and weekends in a lot of cases, to try and keep up with your enquiries. We have also brought in extra office staff to help out.

Thousands of bags have already been dispatched and we are completing and sending out hundreds more every day. So we can clear the backlog of bags as quickly as possible bags are being put into production in batches of the same size and colour to allow them to be cut and stitched in the most efficient way. The vast majority of orders should be delivered over the next two to three weeks.

In most cases orders that haven't yet been delivered are either in our factory being worked on or are waiting to go into production. It is just a matter of time before all of these bags are completed.

Some styles of bag proved to be very popular during the sale and as a result of this we have struggled to get leather in quickly enough to keep up with all of the bags that need to be made. We are currently waiting for a number of deliveries of leather needed before bags that use those leathers can be put into production. We are working with our suppliers to get the leather in as quickly as possible.

We are currently waiting for the following styles of leather:

Red Polka Dots, Red Hearts, Pink Hearts, Classic Purple, Pastel Cream, Metallic Purple, Classic Pink, Classic Yellow, Belts, Metallic Pewter

We receive deliveries of leather each week and all of these styles will be back in stock within the next 3 weeks.

I understand that you have already waited a long time for your order and that this is an additional delay. If there are multiple bags on an order we are trying to send them out as they are completed to prevent entire orders being held up. We are of course covering any additional delivery cost involved.

I didn't get that email either, despite them assuring me that from now on I'd receive all the communications...

Also, my bag is a plain old brown saddle bag, not one of the whizzy leathers that's mentioned here.

The emails seem to be diverted to my junk mail folder. Maybe the same is happening to you?

My bag isn't one of those fancy pants leathers either, I'm just waiting for my common or garden red leather saddle bag.

I can't get too annoyed at them though, I just don't think they had a clue how enthusiastic the uptake would be.

I got that email this evening. I think it's really poor that the payment went through with the order and yet the goods won't be dispatched for 7 to 8 weeks for some orders.

Also lots on Brand Alley. Hmm Not totally convinced they aren't about to go tits up.

My order is a straight forward classic brown saddlebag. I didn't get that email either.

I can't get a refund as they haven't replied to my email. Sick of hearing how busy they are and overwhelmed.

I'm beginning to think the same way as you vjg13. I paid with PayPal. Would I be covered if things do go tits up.

I must have been on elf the lucky ones to get all five of the bags I ordered within the 28 days and to get prompt responses to all my emails.

But, seeing how many have not received their bags or had their communications answered I do think they've taken on more than they can handle.

They must realise that people don't want to wait, especially when it's women and bags!

I think they should have stockpiled a bigger amount before the sale in anticipation of the huge response.

They could have done some research beforehand by asking on facebook what people's favourite bags are etc, just to get an idea if people did go on a buying frenzy which bags are the most popular.

They seem genuinely overwhelmed that so many ordered and perhaps buoyed by the amazing amount of orders coming in they didn't think to start putting 'sold out' on their website on bags that were the most popular.
