Zatchels are having a 24 hour 50% off sale tomorrow. It's advertised on their Facebook page. I'm tempted but don't know whether to go for a classic colour (probably the navy) or one of the metallics. Has anyone ordered from them and could you recommend a colour? Thanks!

Firstly apologies it has taken us so long to send out an email updating you on our sale. We have been giving updates on Facebook and twitter but, as a few of you have flagged up to us, not everyone sees those.

As I am sure you are aware the number of orders we received during our Birthday Flash Sale far exceeded even our most optimistic predictions. We had prepared to handle a lot more orders than a usual weekend but hadn't anticipated quite how many of you would leap at the chance to get bags for half price!

We want to reassure everybody who ordered during the sale that you will get your bags; there is no question about that. It is just taking longer than expected due to the large number of orders. While we normally make and dispatch bags within 10 days some of the sale orders are taking a lot longer than that. All of our bags are handmade to order so getting so many through the factory is taking some time, that said we are sending out hundreds of orders every day!

We are struggling to respond to all of the customer service enquiries we are getting at the moment both on the phone, email and on Facebook and twitter. We are only a small team so if the phone is busy or it takes a few days to reply to your emails then please bear with us, we will get back to you eventually.

Once your bag has been dispatched you will receive an email to let you know it is on it?s way. In the meantime thank you for your patience.

It's a bit worrying that I've not had that email, or a bag, or a dispatch note (not in spam either). Don't they like me??!

I tried emailing and got no reply, but it just arrived - it's stiffer than I expected and not lined but a lovely colour

I ordered in the flash sale and have got both my bags and love them. Get lots of compliments, especially the cobalt saddle. Actually think the customer service was great, I emailed and had replies within a coupe of days. So - not all bad!

Hazel I ordered on the first day. Had no emails. Tracked the order through my credit card. Bag arrived Tuesday.

I've given up on my pewter saddle bag and given it to teen DD . It's just too small internally for my needs and too big externally, it was bugging me the disparity in the dimensions.

I thought customer services were great too - friendly and helpful and surprisingly quick to reply! I guess they're just bogged down with emails and calls and so some will get quicker responses than others

Ps hazel whilst I did get a reply to my email, I haven't had a despatch note or anything either. They just said my bag was currently being made in the factory

Customer service got back to me quickly each time I contacted them and one of my orders will be here on Monday Grin.
No word on the other one yet but I have enough bags to be using so I don't mind when it arrives.

Jazz The leather does soften up but it takes a long time.

It's taken them 10 days to reply to my email and let me know my bag is still in the factory! Seems they won't even be keeping to their 30 day delivery promise now - especially disappointing given it was for an anniversary on Sunday... Not a lot you can do other than wait though!

I made three orders. The first one for free satchels then I made two separate orders, one for a barrel bag and one for another satchel.

Zatchels customer service has been fantastic. I was refunded two lots of postage for the two separate orders and each of those bags arrived separately.

I have now received the order for the cream, pink and blue satchels.

My only niggle is with me as two of the satchels were 13" and I wish I had got them in a 14.5" as that is much more practical size.

The pastel ones I received today are all lovely.

I'm a bit pissed off that they kept saying 30 days until last week, when they're now admitting they won't even have some of the leathers until next week. If they had said that I might have changed some of my order, none of which has been delivered. Their customer service is totally random, which means it is essentially faulty. James was posting on Facebook saying the would check order statuses when they're back in the office on Monday. If you're 10 days behind answering customer emails, you work weekends to fix the problem. They need to get John Seddon in.

I actually received my bags on Monday but wasn't particularly bothered about waiting for them, I'm not sure why some people have got so het up about it. It was obviously going to take longer than usual to fulfil orders because of the huge volume of orders.
Most people who ordered that weekend probably weren't planning to do so in advance, but took advantage of the sale. I can understand being irritated at being caught up in the frenzy if you had been planning to buy that day anyway, but then getting your bag for half price should ease the stress.

I haven't had mine. Wasn't sure if my order had gone through but they replied to my email to say it had and that it would be 30 days. I understand that they were overwhelmed with orders but would have appreciated an email to let me know kf the delay - I shouldn't have to find out about it on mumsnet!! Think I will be chasing up in the morning.

Did anyone notice that Zatchels are on Brandalley at the moment? 40% off. I've ordered one (they're available for immediate despatch, which isn't always the case with Brandalley) and I'm going to cancel my order with Zatchels.

Call me cynical but I looked at my account today and noticed it said the status was printed - whatever that means. So I emailed them to ask and lo and behold I have just got an email saying it has been dispatched. However the tracking number is not being recognised by parcelforce as it should have go letters and 7 digits but they have only given 6 digits.

This thread caused a massive run on a small company who.make their products to order. It's only to be expected that delivery may take a while and understandable that customer service is struggling.
