Summoning all short ladies - summer footwear

I know it's a bit premature but I want to start getting some ideas. What do you petite ladies wear when you put your boots awayas the weather gets better? I cannot wear flats because they make me feel frumpy. I mean, I don't even like wearing slippers at home! Heals however, I find uncomfortable plus I want some casual looks mainly. So that leaves me with wedges. 'Plungey' wedges are no good because they're not comfortable to walk in. Best ones are the ones with a bit of platform, but just a bit too much platform and feet look clunky. I want to look chic. How can I???? To make matters worse I have wide feet. I mean, is there any hope?Confused

I too have very wide feet, and am short. I live in my boots in the winter - long ones with skirts, and ankle boots with trousers.

It's taken me years to reach this conclusion, but now I just live with looking good from the ankles up, and frumpy from the ankes down.

They are very comfortable and not at all heavy - do take a little breaking in though.

I wear them with skinnies, skirts, dresses and do think they look reasonably chic.

They do look OK, but I couldn't afford £145 for a pair of sandals Sad. I am resigned to frumpy feet.
It wasn't me that asked the question though...

I just wear really lovely (normally bold in colour or pattern) ballet flats/sandals and console myself with the fact I have lovely shoes on.

MrsCampbell that last one you've linked to is not Hasbeens is it? I remember having gold clogs a few years ago of that Swedish brand. I'm sorry but they made my feet stink so bad it was just embarrassing and I had to stop wearing them altogether. They are SO NICE though!

I just wear flats and have done with it. I'm resigned to my height, nothing I can do about it and I refuse to stagger about in heels being uncomfortable and not able to run after my children when they decide to scarper (they are very little).

Last summer I had a lovely pair of tan loafers from Dune. They were made of lovely soft leather and they were so comfy - I wore them with skinnies, casual trousers, dresses.
I also bought a pair of Merrell sandals for days when I was going to be on my feet a lot.

I'm a SAHM so I don't need anything especially smart. I do have a couple of pairs of sandals with heels, but I wouldn't wear them on a day when I was doing a lot of walking.

I like Fly wedges yoda sandals. I don't think my feet look clumpy in them and they are very comfortable but I do have narrow feet.

Walnut I would wear those flip flops to the beach but not around town. They're not really designed to walk a lot in them are they? Plus feet get really dirty and flip flops don't offer any support when walking. My ankles would be going all over theplace in those.

kerstina I like the heels in those shoes very much. Not massively keen on the peep toe but still, could be a possibility. Do you think they will work for my EE feet?

New Look has some fairly nice shoes in a wide fit. They don't have all their styles in wide fit but they usually have a decent amount to choose from. Might be worth having a look anyway Smile

I mainly wear flats but have some fake birki type sandals from next which have a wedge heel.

Hmm .. I am not sure . I have other fly sandals that are a bit looser on me but I can't remember I will try and find out which they are . I suggest you type in fly wedge sandals on amazon and read reviews . Lots of comfortable similar styled wedges . You can get a good idea what width they suit from the feedback.

I just ordered these they don't look too high, although not a wedge, I don't think wedges ever really look chic. I thought they would be a good way to introduce this seasons neon without looking like a teenager!

Can't link as I'm on my phone, but clarks usually do very comfy low wedges. I've got some fab ones from a couple of years ago in fuschia suede with cork wedges. Also camper often do suitable things though more expensive.

Interesting thread.
I'm short and have stupid size 2.5 feet (can get away with a 3 sometimes) that are very wide ie EE+. They are the most ridiculous feet and bear a horrid resemblance to pigs trotters. Sad I can't walk in high shoes but hate flats.
Anyway, I've got some inspiration from the replies.

High heels with a strap around the ankle or t-bar or lace up are among my favourite footwear as a shortie.
