This one

I am maid of honour at a wedding in April, am very fussy and have spent hours browsing dresses everywhere.
40 y/o, size 14, 5'7'', decent legs, big belly (3 C-S!), dark hair.
Has anyone seen anything remotely similar? I am desperate...

Do you know anyone in the US? It looks like its in stock on their site?

Edma · 24/02/2013 21:26

Ohhhh. I do. I missed that!

Its gorgeous!

ceebeegeebies · 24/02/2013 21:30

this one is not exactly the same but similarish.

I sound almost identical to you (same height, decent legs but a big belly due to C/s, dark hair etc) and I bought this dress and it is seriously the most flattering dress I have ever had. No idea why but it clings in the right places, is a good length and extremely comfortable. I wish it came in different colours as I am not really a monochrome person but I wore it out last weekend with opaque tights and black court shoes and felt good Smile

Edma · 24/02/2013 21:31

Thank you. A bit worried I will look like a big pink thing or something but I always go for black, grey so it will be a nice change...

Thank you Moose. This is really helpful!

better link this time....

Edma · 24/02/2013 21:34

I quite like the Very one ceebeegeebies (And the price!) but not sure about the black as you said.

Doris, it's very similar. Just worried that the hip area is not very fitted, and it tends to make my middle look huge!

Glad you like it - it really is flattering. I bought a red handbag/accessories to add some colour Smile

noddyholder · 24/02/2013 21:40

this jigsaw dress is very nice in the flesh iykwim

nipersvest · 24/02/2013 21:51

the reviews of the dress are all american, copied over from the usa website. it might be showing as out of stock because it's not actually been in stock yet iykwim. i'd click the 'email me when it's available' button, you might find it comes in time.

Edma · 25/02/2013 07:15

Noddy, I really like the Jigsaw one. Maybe the Anthropologie is "too much". Aaargh. So hard when you can't try stuff on.

Is this too white to wear at a wedding? here

BlatantLies · 25/02/2013 07:45

The first pink dress is absolutely lovely.

Sorry, not helpful. Smile

Edma · 25/02/2013 07:55

I am starting to wonder if it's not over the top now. I love it but I don't want to be ridiculous. It's so hard!!
I love the Jigsaw one which is a bit more subtle but it's sold out!

this

noddyholder · 25/02/2013 08:59

love this

pinkpaperpiggy · 25/02/2013 09:01

I can add the first dress to checkout in a 14 from your link.

OhMyNoReally · 25/02/2013 09:08

It's seems to be in stock now, from the link you added.

pinkpaperpiggy · 25/02/2013 09:08

Sorry - last post was unclear - I can add the Anthropologie dress from the OP'S link in size 14. Maybe it is back in stock.

AnonymousBird · 25/02/2013 09:15

So can I, it doesn't seem sold out.
And the link to the Amazon dress is the same designer, so presumably the same dress???

Edma · 25/02/2013 09:21

It's just back in stock! I got an email.
So shall I?
I can return it within 90 days apparently, if I decide it makes me look like a big pink thing,

Have you looked at Phase Eight? Lots of very similar lovely fit and flare burnout dresses and some more muted colours if you're worried about the pink (which is lovely!)
Sorry, bit rubbish at links but have a look at Carina, Dalelah and Jardin

BlatantLies · 25/02/2013 09:23

You have to try it on to know...... I think it looks lovely but you won't know too you try. Good luck.
