I want a blush evening gown/wedding dress - you lot are my only hope!

Hi all. Mostly lurk on these boards and post occasionally. Really need help finding a dress to wear for my wedding in a few months' time.

I've decided I'd love to wear a blush/nude/palest pink dress and I want it to be long and vaguely bohemian, if that doesn't sound too wanky. The problem is size (sort of) and budget. I am very teeny and petite and am finding that many Gown (capital G) type dresses come up quite large in sizes. The length doesn't bother me, I'll just wear giant heels, but the size is trickier. I ordered this dressBand of Outsiders in a size 1 and although it's stunning, the fit wasn't quite right.

Have ANY of you seen a similiar type dress anywhere? Or can you recommend sites that do small sizes? (I'm a 6-8 UK size.) My budget would be about 450 pounds, 500 absolute max, but ideally much much MUCH cheaper. I don't want a meringue, and I don't want to have to pay fuckloads in import tax from the US.

Flowers in advance

What about flesh, a very light apricot.

It depends on your skin tone and hair colour. If you are very blonde with light skin tone a pinky toned light colour would look good.

Lucky are those dark skinned gals who can wear almost anthing and look ravishing.

The ghost one

Is really lovely.

Especially on a size 8 frame. Unfortunately I'm an 18 and could only dream...!

Have you looked at TK Maxx? I noticed today that they have wedding dresses at greatly reduced prices. There might be something there that tickled your fancy for less than you might otherwise pay.

Argh just wrote a post and it disappeared.

So, where are we:

-the ghost dresses are lovely but I don't fancy long sleeves.

-the Matthew Williamson is loads of fun but perhaps a little too much.

-tethersend's velvet offering is tempting me, it's vv pretty, but I don't want to order from US - couldn't take another import tax disaster

-The Notte dress in sweetheart's link is also vaguely tempting me, but it's sold out, bastards!

  • I keep going back to this Ted Baker Ted Baker but something's holding me back - would the tie waist+that colour look dumpy from a distance - I am vertically challenged!

  • I also found this Theory dress Theory which again is lovely but see concerns re. Ted Baker above

So the search continues, thanks again to everyone for their input! Flowers

Not all the Ghost dresses have long sleeves.

Look at the Chelsea and the Novella

will reply to y'all properly asap but in the meantime...thoughts on this JCrew? It seems to have all sizes under the earth AND does a petite option... and they seem to have the international shipping stuff sorted out.

Am actually having a little wobble about the colour - the 'dusty shale' mint is also extreeeeeemly pretty.

That is a beautiful dress! With 'undone' hair (flowers) you'll look fabulous. I like the pale pink better but the green is also lovely. Pink seems more 'bride' than green somehow.

Google DVF Zarita dress in nude, some pics look taupe but it is a blush colour, it's totally not what you originally wanted but will look amazing on a petite frame. The small sizes are in stock and a batch are being made at the mo, I've been assured. I'm looking at this for my registry office ceremony in late August.

J Crew one is beautiful, I agree that pink is more bridal but green night be good if you want to avoid that.

Amazing link cremeeggsrock, I've never heard of Eliott Claire. Those are beautiful dresses! This is really lovely cowl and I see you can pick from lots of colours. Argh! That's thrown a spanner in the works now, I'd almost had my finger on the JCrew button!
