Any recommendations for hold up stockings that don't cut into your legs?

Have recently got back in the saddle after 5 years of no sex, with a much younger man as a one off. He wanted me to dress up for him in stockings, which I did, and we both enjoyed it. But, it was a faff with the suspender belt. I watched Burlesque a couple of days ago, and the girls looked fab in hold ups, but, the last time I tried hold ups (years ago) they cut into my thighs and made them look fat (they are a bit muscly rather than fat, certainly not slim). Has anyone got recommendations for ones which will stay up without making my legs look like I am wearing elastic bands?

I can't help you OP but I'm awaiting responses with interest. I've never had any that didn't make my thighs look awful.

I don't like hold-ups - they either circle your thighs with a might grip orfall down! I recommend persevering with the suspender belt. (Tip: If you wear knickers, put them on outside the suspenders).

Wow, they're not cheap are they? However, as you said, my sex life deserves them so I am going to treat myself to the Wolford ones, they do look lovely, very sexy.

I also need to stock up on underwear that matches, instead of washed out cotton knickers! I had forgotten how much fun an active sex life can be...

sausagetown I do think suspender belts can also look v sexy, but they are a bit of a faff. Think I'll probably have both hold ups and a belt in my lingerie drawer, keeping my options open Wink

M&S ones. You can get brilliant hold up roll on glue that I use for work in the summer.

Persevere with the suspender belt, it frames the target area for him, looks sexier and I love having the straps twanged gives you a much wider range of stocking options. If you are a troll that should be plenty of wank fodder.

fallenangle lol at framing target area! Didn't realise belts were still popular, thought they might be a bit old fashioned now?
And I'm definitely not a troll, just trying to remember how to be sexy after 5 years of no sex life....

I second the Wolford. I have pairs of the opaque hold ups that I have worn to work (I cant bear tights) at least once a week all winter for three years that still look in great condition.

Mum wasn't meaning to be accusatory. You say that this was a one off, (i'd love to hear the story of how the request for stockings came up). That you are asking about stockings suggests it might be developing further or you may be back on the dating trail.
I think you may find that if a gentleman's attention, say over dinner, seems to be waning, an 'excuse me I just need to pop to the loo one of my suspender clips has come loose', will reenergise his interest.

fallenangle I didn't think you were accusing me, and I completely understand we need to be careful of trolls/weirdos. To cut a long story short, as you were interested, it was someone I vaguely knew of, we danced, he was turned on and chased me with the intention of one hot night together. I wanted to, as he was hot and frankly I needed to get back in the saddle...Lots of sexting in the days running up to it (completely new to me Shock ) in which he mentioned he liked stockings. I thought 'why not'. And then found out after it was his first time with a lady in stockings...he enjoyed it, so did I. I've remembered it's nice to make an effort to look good, something I had forgotten in my unhappy marriage and in the 2 years since we separated. I feel somewhat rejuvenated!

well, cheap as chips but I find ASDA the best, pretty lace tops and they stay put and I am a big girl!

Ordered a pair of the m & s ones (small, I am 5'3) and they arrived today. Was disappointed at first as they were halfway up my thigh with flesh hanging over the top. I then pulled them right up so they were at the top of my thigh and just beneath my bum and that solved the problem, they looked great. Not sure how well they will stay up but not planning to wear them for hours at a a time so shouldn't be an issue Wink

I had the same problem too but ifound some really good thigh highs at viennemilano.com. they were sexy and also had some that were good for other stuff like work. Im sure theres a lot of more thigh high out there too!

I wear either Falke or Tranparenze. I wear them all the time as I don't wear tights. Longevity really depends upon the denier. I've had blue opaques that I've worn for a few years. Unlike tights of course if you get a ladder you only lose one leg not both.

I love love love the ones from VienneMilano - only thigh highs I've found that actually stay up. Plus most of them are only about $20 + shipping and they're made in Italy, like the VS ones before the quality became terrible. Aristoc are the only ones I have found that stay up PERMANENTLY. And the tops are so deep they don't 'cut in'. I even wear them for work....!

A very late reply by 6yrs but as a past lingerie photographer the models I worked with used to always swear by wearing a size bigger than they actually are and to apply baby oil to the thigh prior to putting on for guaranteed staying up.
