They are great,if a little gangly tanned German exchange student with rucksack.
Everyone does 'em know don't they?
Haven't been shopping since 1965 so I am no help however.

spacedonkey · 22/04/2006 20:28

I got floral ones from office - £20 - but this was the summer before last so probably not very helpful ... :-S

OOOh I love my birkenstocks in fact I bought my daughter a pair on Thursday!! I nearly bought myself a pair too but they didn't have my size - going back next week!

Posey · 22/04/2006 20:29

Do it. I wear them every year.
Last year though got a pair of really funky Red or Dead Birkenstock style sandals in a floral design, £9.99 from TKMaxx. I get most of my shoes in TKMaxx.

harpsichordcarrier · 22/04/2006 20:31

they're not horribly over then?
slightly weary at the idea of Tkmaxx as always, but you're probably right

Don't think they could ever be over.
Timeless style like Scholls.

roosmum · 22/04/2006 20:34

fatface might have them too?

Posey · 22/04/2006 20:34

What age children do you have Harpsichordcarrier? I can spend ages in TKMaxx shoe dept as my kids (8 and 3) love playing "who can find the most outrageous shoes". Keeps them happy while I rummageSmile

I once bought something very similar from La Redoute and I have scarcely worn anything in the summer since. I don't know if their current catalogue has them, but I have had pairs in blue and pink and they are wonderfully comfortable. Mind you, I have wide feet and can't wear normal sandals.

myalias · 22/04/2006 20:36

I bought some kurt geiger ones in white approx £25 from John Lewis last year. Fit like a glove and much more comfortable than birkies.

harpsichordcarrier · 22/04/2006 20:37

splendid DG
my children are 3 and 5 months
the three year old would look at shoes all day (don't know where she gets it from)

DumbledoresGirl · 22/04/2006 20:46

Bum that doesn't work. Go to femme, click on shoes, click on mules and espadrilles and click on the top middle shoe (£16) and that is what I meant.

expatinscotland · 22/04/2006 20:53

I bought some nice stripy scholls yesterday from TKmaxx. They had an RRP of £45 & were reduced to £7! They had loads of different styles.
