I am thinking of getting some for my holiday. Going to be doing a lot of walking and need to go for comfort more than anything else. I get blisters so bad - need something that might stop them. Hope they are as comfortable as I have been told they are.

cod · 24/04/2006 08:42

harpsichordcarrier · 24/04/2006 08:44

I have two pairs and love them. vv comfortable. Not sure about the flowery pattern though!! Wink

Hulababy - if you do get some for your holiday, make sure you get them well in advance and break them in first - they take a little while to get used to and get much more comfortable after a few weeks of regular wear and the footbed has moulded to the shape of your foot.

woo hoo get you!

:)

hulababy · 24/04/2006 08:50

Okay, I need to start looking then. Holiday is in 7 weeks. Off to Florida so I really do mean lots of walking. Last time my feet were so badly coered in blisters that got infected :( It's the humidity mixed with my really dodgy feet!

SwimmingWithHarpsichords · 24/04/2006 08:50

yes, and I have very sexy feet
men have been known to become overcome with desire at a flash of toe

be aware, if you order online, that you may need to get a size smaller than you usually wear - I am normally 39 or 40, but my Birkies are size 38.

If you are in London, you can go to the Birkenstock shop in Neal St, Covent Garden, and they have a board thing on the floor with all the different size footbeds on it and you can try them all out until you find your size.

Northerner · 24/04/2006 08:56

You can get them on ebay for under £20

lahdeedah · 24/04/2006 08:56

my feet are very sexy too Grin

as long as I remember to wax my toes

hulababy · 24/04/2006 09:07

Was going to go and look in shop somewhere in town, and then see where best place to buy is once I know style and size :)

fullmoonfiend · 24/04/2006 09:17

If the rest of you is drop-dead gorgeous, like moi, Wink I think you can not worry about sexy shoes and go for cool and comfy. It makes a good contrast. (I'm a walker too, and have too many itsy bitsy shoes languishing in my wardrobe which just haven't passed the trudge to school test :( )

Anchovy · 24/04/2006 09:24

I have got small wide feet and the Birkenstocks's in my size are almost exactly square. Bugger comfort - it is so not a good look.
