Okay. So this is what I want -

narrow legged black trousers, maybe 7 eights: not polyester / not designed for giants / not dry clean only

a cream, latte colour or v pale grey silk top with sleeves and some pretty detailing (could have a print providing it is tiny) but not cleavage revealing and not pussy bow

nice tights to wear with pencil skirts and heels

a deep burgundy scarf with a quirky black print but not leopard or skulls

a dress: waisted, mini-ish as in above the knee, cotton or cotton mix or silk, sleeves or no sleeves but loose enough to wear a t-shirt under. Don't care what colour but I want a nice print and I want to wear it either with biker boots or with tan heeled ankle boots and black or grey opaques

a black silk printed loose top to wear with skinnies

That'll do for now, thanks! :)

Christ. I'm not reserved in the nork department. In fact I'm quite portly overall. Hadn't considered matronliness although your hesitation is entirely justified. I'm quite newly A Larger Lady (not suggesting you are just bringing it aaaaallll back to Me) I've not learned how to dress for my bigness yet. Obvs hope I don't need to ad will soon be smaller again

Waffling. Wine. Sorry

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/01/2013 23:20

Thank you. Have already got seamed tights so looking for other ideas - polka dots etc maybe? Don't mind completely mad ones either.

LOVE the green jumper but don't think a small would fit. Will look in store. Don't like the blouses - too fussy for norkage, I think.

I'm only a 12 but a 32E so they seem to be v v noticeable!

Do you need high street for tights too? Spotty are great.

tethersend · 19/01/2013 23:24

Just had a look- it's nice, but too dark a green... the endless quest goes on!

Thanks though Smile

Jumper is also in grey, is showing me S & M for the green and S, M & L for the grey.

Blokes Zara jumper? Silk and cotton. Worth a try I'd say.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/01/2013 23:28

Okay. What kind of green are you after?

Marlene - yes to highstreet tights. It was showing me an M in grey and a S in green when I looked!

A jade green, but more yellowy IYSWIM...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/01/2013 23:38

Aaah, I'm not in the UK, could be that.

these are great
too much
spots
here
cheesy but nice f you're the valentines day type
spots again haven't seen any black on black but I've not looked properly.

A fine fishbone pattern is always good.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/01/2013 10:51

Thank you. :)

Don't like the red ones. Love the idea of script up the seam but not the cheesy Valentine's and not the white tights!

Would love some black ones with quotes on or something!

Have lots of spots and herringbone ones.

You're like a drug, I can't keep away Grin

Morning all. I love the Massimo grey silk top also, it's calling out to me. Did you get the Hobbs dress?

Tara Jarmon is also worth a browse, but I know you don't like online. Still, nice to browse. I see Amber (I think) has been recommending Gerard Darel on MN Vogue. I'm all a-flap! I feel I've scored fashion kudos points!!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/01/2013 12:21

I didn't know there was a whole website devoted to tights! Have you ordered from them before? I like the spotty ones in black and the striped grey ones.

The London ones are brilliant but I can't wear white tights now I'm not a skinny 18 year old. Ditto the last pair but I like their Alice in Wonderland vibe a lot.

Careful, Lurking. You won't be able to speak to the likes of mere mortals on here soon!

I am indeed a big advocate of GD, excellent quality, nearly all my work basics come from there!

lurkingaround · 21/01/2013 09:50

Oh would that I were in that league! I never will be.... 1. I'm a slow fashion adopter and 2. I can't get me head around those wedge trainer thingys.....

notMarlene · 21/01/2013 11:14

There are Plenty of websites just for tights
