After reading the list of shops we don't go to, I'm wondering where you do all shop?

Interesting mix!

I tend to stick to:
Shopbop/Donna Ida/Selfridges for jeans
Uniqlo/Outnet for cashmere
Trilogy for tops
Outnet/TK Maxx/Gerard Darel/LKB for workwear
Matches Spy for all things casual
Hush for PJs and loungewear.

I also go to sample sales quite regularly, Bicester Village a couple of times a year and get the odd item from eBay. We're lucky to have some great charity shops and a wonderful dress agency locally so I have occasional finds in those too!

Hardly anywhere lately, as I hate virtually everything I can afford. Have been having to watch the pennies a bit (a lot).

Hobbs sales - work jackets / bags / scarves / coat
Hobbs - three quarter sleeved t-shirts and scarves
Warehouse - the odd silk top (rare now) or fashion t-shirt
M&S Autograph - the odd jumper dress and pencil skirt / tights
M&S - skinnies
Topshop - jersey skirts and skinnies
White Company - jersey dresses / yoga pants for slobbing / nightdresses (sales mostly)
Dune or HoF sales for shoes
H&M - blazers and scarves only
Fantasie bras
M&S knickers
Vivienne Westwood sales (but not for a while, sadly) :)

Mostly in the sales, primarily John Lewis as I am so old now that I hate traipsing around multiple shops when I can find more than one brand in one. Brands I buy are:

  • Phase eight - but not the cruise wear stuff or anything overly polyestery
  • Hobbs for shoes and boots
  • Mint Velvet
  • Kew or whatever its called these days
  • Weekend by Max mara ( strictly sales only)
  • White Stuff

Outside of John Lewis
  • Next for cheapy iteams that aren't too glitzy
  • M&S for basics
  • Boden

I much prefer the outnet for lots of different brands than full price high st, so

The outnet
Matches, NaP
Liberty
Lots of discounts. Plus might walk along Marylebone high st etc but check now for refunds.

HN and Selfridges for odd specific item.

Hmm might have to give people tree a go! I seem to get all of my stuff from h&m but yes the sizing can be hit and miss, and quite often seems a bit too clingy for me.

Usual suspects
TKMaxx - everything
Gap - knitwear and t-shirts
H&M (scarves, t-shirts, vests. lately some skirts)
M&S (shoes, underwear, tights, occasional work dress)
Wallis (trousers - one of the few places they fit me)
Great plains
Mint velvet
Oasis (mostly tops and scarves)

Have a lot a Hobbs stuff but have decided to quit it and prompted the other thread - I think the quality is fine - I just have too much of it and so does everyone else I work with!

Recently discovered
Gerard Darel (in the sale for work wear)
My-wardrobe (sale again)
NAP - one sale purchase but think I'll be exploring it more often now
Aubin and Wills - love it - have discovered my preppy side

After reading this and previous thread want to try out
Uniglo
Cos
Donna Ida
Outnet
White Company
Biscester Village

I love Esprit for their free delivery & returns, and Javari for shoes. With two pre-schoolers I don't get out shopping much so mostly done online. Also Boden & John Lewis.

J Crew (Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE this company?)
Massimo Dutti
Uniqlo
Joseph
Maje

I tend to shop in boutiques rather than chains - prefer the atmosphere and the quirky selection. The ones I like are in Notting Hill, Little Venice, and Chishwick.

Other than that, at Bicester: DVF, Prada, Max Mara, Marni, and Rupert Sanderson.

Chiswick - one would think I did not live there!

M&S, Boden, Seasalt, Gap, Joules, Monsoon, eBay (for expensive brands - like Burberry and Aquascutum and Barbour coats, I buy second-hand), charity shops. The very occasional item from Hobbs.

Back in my earning/jet-setting days, I was head-to-toe Banana Republic.

J Crew (massive fan)
Hobbs (shoes mainly)
Whistles
Jigsaw- their less floaty stuff
7 for all Mankind
Cotton-On for vests and long sleeve plain tops- don't think this exists in the Uk though.
GAP occasionally but find their trousers the wrong proportions
Fenwright Manson occasionally- find the odd gem
Monsoon- again, don't like most of their stuff but then they have some things which are just great
I like Top Shop but I find i really need to try the stuff on, so dont use it much now as I have to order by internet and overseas returns are a PITA

In order of where I've bought most over the past few years (although trying to buy nothing this year):

Jigsaw (work suits, coats, dresses, skinny cords, shoes, boots)
Whistles (dresses, scarves, jersey tops, bag)
Anthropologie ( casual jackets, blazer, tops, jewellery, scarves, cotton trousers)
Brora (coat, jumpers, scarf, hat, gloves)
Reiss (coat, two leather jackets)
NYD jeans, Nike and Puma sportswear and trainers from Next Directory (only ever buy non-Next branded). Next day delivery very convenient.
Hobbs (tops for work)
Dorothy Perkins (got some attractive, cheap Summer dresses for hols)
White Stuff (plain tops, Summer trousers, Summer skirts which are probably frumpy but are fine for lazy days on holiday)
Fat face (some Summer casual stuff)

Tkmaxx, but tbh it's hard work going through the racks of hideous stuff so I only rarely get something there, usually from clearance rail.
Topshop, but normally only in their online sale and half of it goes back.
H&M a bit
Toast sales - very limited in terms of prices though!
same with hobbs, just very occasionally in sale
that's about it. Oh and maybe Joules or similar again in sale online. Scats sometimes too, for coats/waterproof kecks Smile
