Hi can anyone find me an A-line skirt like the one in the middle picture in this link
I need to do a wardrobe overhaul - I'm a classic pear shape but have a collection of pencil skirts and straight/skinny trousers which are all conspiring to make me look like a dumpy carrot

can you sew? I have a vogue pattern for the middle skirts. it's them exactly and weirdly I made the pattern in that exact fabric!

notMarlene · 16/01/2013 19:30

It's a beautiful skirt and although I've had a damn good look I can't find anything like it. Well, I say that, I saw a couple that were vaugely similar for 1000 pounds + Hmm TBH it'd be well worth paying to have several one made.

notMarlene · 16/01/2013 19:32

theidsalright - meant to ask what the pattern nummer / name is, I need that skirt.

OrchidFlakes · 16/01/2013 19:33

I have one almost identical in grey leather (fake) from primark if leather is what you're after pop along you may be lucky

TameGaloot · 16/01/2013 19:35

Ooh marking place
I need one too

msrisotto · 16/01/2013 19:35

I also need it in several different colours. I could learn to sew, I would for that pattern!

JustAHolyFool · 16/01/2013 19:35

That is gorgeous. I reckon it'd be easy enough to knock up, even if you're not great at sewing.

msrisotto · 16/01/2013 19:36

Sorry, need (whiney voice)

Rather like that hobbs one, I wonder how the tree detailing would come up IRL, If we're doing similarish, this is good for summer.

notMarlene · 16/01/2013 20:01

eh, missed a bit:

wonder how the tree detailing would come up IRL, the texture contrast on the stems might be a bit much.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 16/01/2013 20:04

Like the skirt. Has to be said, the best A lines in my wardrobe were all bought in the US.

vogue v8328 (very easy)
I have to say I did not find it very easy at all and if you Google it you will see on various blogs that other women clearly didn't either (going by the finished articles)
:)

I have one very like that from fat face - 2 or 3 years old now though, which doesn't help you very much

LaTrucha · 16/01/2013 20:56

This? Although not helpful as I don't knw where you can buy it.

LaTrucha · 16/01/2013 21:55

This but is shorter

BanoffeeSplitz · 16/01/2013 22:28

I have one like that from Banana Republic (via Oxfam so prob a few years old), wool crepe with a lining & stands out quite stiffly.
Just looked on their website & it's full of pencil skirts now.
But there is this which is full and shorter but not pleated and this which is still short and only looks right from the front .

Floridagirl · 16/01/2013 22:36

How about this one?
La Redoute

Floridagirl · 16/01/2013 22:39

Or this one?
