Silver ballet flats ...are they chav?

Sorry I know I keep going on about them, but I bought some and now I cant decide whether they might be a bit chavvy (charlotte church wearing them in heat this week)
Shall I take them back for another pair I have seen?
Promise this is the last time I will mention them

what colour are the other pair?

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:13

hmm a sort of sparkly material, maybe a bit goldy but no so as you'd notice, but they are different style but flat

i see the oyoung glas wearign them wiht black opaque tights
now hat is odd

jampots · 21/04/2006 10:15

hmmm anything of sparkly origin is chav imo

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:19

the other ones I like are on the top shop website but only in white, they have lots of holes in them, no solid shoes like the silver ones
So is it a resounding NO from the fashionistas of mn

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:21

I like silver ballet pumps, was planning on buying some soon.

cod · 21/04/2006 10:21

links

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:24

it wont let me do a link to either, the web address is the same when I go on the site to when I look at the shoes so I dont know how to get the actual picture

OP posts:
cod · 21/04/2006 10:25

so save pics and post in mmber profiles

Pinotmum · 21/04/2006 10:27

I bought black glittery ones and they could look chavtastic if I wore them with footless tights and a big metallic coloured belt but I won't. I himmed and hawed over buying these but then I thougt I WANT THEM! So I bought them.

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:29

it says the file is too big, will try the silver ones

I've got a pair of silver glitter ones from Zara and they got a resounding yes from my trendy young friends at college. I even wore them to a 'gig' in Shoreditch, so they must be okay...

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 10:33

ok the silver ones are in member profiles, still no luck with the others

I think it depends what you wear them with - black footless tights and silver ballet shoes may look a bit chav but jeans, white shirt and silver ballet shoes I feel not. Mind you it depends on your age - if you are young and gorgeous then most things look wonderful !

flobbleflobble · 21/04/2006 15:31

I just bought some too Smile

expatinscotland · 21/04/2006 15:35

If you have to ask, it probably is.

Kelly1978 · 21/04/2006 15:36

NOT chav at all. I've posted on the other thread, I have some too!

CountessDracula · 21/04/2006 16:40

I hadn't noticed anyone much wearing these until today when I was looking because of this thread.

I have to say that I saw them on several women with croydon facelifts and burberry thongs

MillionDollarBaby · 21/04/2006 16:43

Not chav imho

Prufrock · 21/04/2006 16:45

I agree it completely depends what you wear them with. My sister wears them with short skirst and looks chav-like. I have a pair and wear them only with long jeans and fitted white or black T-shirts and don't think I look at all chavvy

snafu · 21/04/2006 16:45

Balenciaga would look chav with a Croydon facelift, though.

I like 'em.

CountessDracula · 21/04/2006 16:46

yes snafu but what I am saying is that I didn't see anyone without said facelift wearing them, ergo...

snafu · 21/04/2006 16:48

I know, I just wanted to see if I knew how to spell Balenciaga Grin
