Oriental, warm, sweet, spicy perfume recommendations please.

The love of my perfume life is the original Bulgari Omnia (the one with the brown packaging). However, it has been discontinued and I'm wondering how long I'll be able to buy it online for. Also, it doesn't last too well and I'm looking for a change.

To give you an idea of what I also like:

Prada Amber (am wearing it at the moment).
Guerlain Samsara (wore it all through my teens).
Guerlain Shalimar (I quite like it, although I prefer a deeper, headier base).

Not keen on anything too floral or girly. I like my perfumes to smell a little bit filthy

Warm and spicy-esque I highly recommend Jo Malone's Dark Amber & Ginger Lily. Lasts long too.

Opium? V old-fashioned

Elexir de Merveilles by Hermes. Chergui by Serge Lutens.

Dior Addict. The EDP in the navy bottle, not the pink one.

Agree with tapdancingpimp too, try Jo Malone.

One of the Poison perfumes is very nice and musky, I think it might be Pure Poison.

My mother wears Cinnabar by Estée Lauder . I have observed her receiving and preening over many complements.

I was going to say Opium too - classic and heavy.

Diesel Loverdose is more sweet/fruity I think - reminds me of Flowerbomb.

I reallllllllly want to smell Alien, Buppers - you lucky thang.

Loverdose has got a base note of licorice and star anise IIRC so it's definitely not floral! It's a tiny bit vanilla-y but I LOVE it and I am definitely not a fan of girly/floral perfumes! It's not as heady as say Alien so I do wear it as a daytime perfume but it's on the right side of musky!

Try Tom Ford's Black Orchid, It is VEEERYYYY heady and sweet and spicy, I am too scared to wear it!

You have already discovered some of the best mainstream orientals - also try Coco by Chanel and Bottega Veneta EdP and perhaps even Voyage by Hermes and Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf. Opium has been reformulated (just in case you love the original).

The best orientals these days are made by niche companies. Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens is one of the very best (very many other good orientals in the Lutens range as well - Arabie is heady and heavy with spices). Ambre Precieux by Maitre Parfumier et Gantier is also very good and Ambre Narguile by Hermes (their boutique line) is a foody, edible amber.

Personally I love opulent, classic oriental florals -
Bal a Versailles by Jean Desprez (lots of civet in the base, very filthy, the extrait the parfum is the best concentration)
Dana by Tabu (a less-known drugstore classic - try to find a vintage version from eBay)
Shem-el-Nessim and Hasu-no-Hana by Grossmith (order samples from Les Senteurs)
Narcisse Noir by Caron (ditto)
Oud Ispahan by Dior (Dior boutiques)

You might also love L'Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer Perfumes. It's a woody/incensey oriental, completely wonderful. Puredistance M is a great spicy-leathery oriental as well, sensual and seductive.

It's a good idea to order some samples to try on the more exotic ones. Pick a few samples from Les Senteurs or here or here.

If you fall in love with something expensive, perfume lovers smell decants on the website Crystal Flacon. Prices are very reasonable, and you will get something very unique and distinctive.

I'm not a fan of Opium for some reason, although I realise that on paper it ticks all my boxes and I 'should' like it.

I do like Coco by Chanel but sadly it's not the one for me. There's one specific 'high' note in it that jars for some reason.

The Tom Ford Black Orchid is lovely, I agree. Ever so slightly too sweet for me though. I'm looking for something a little spicier.

I've not ever smelt Cinnabar so will definitely give that a try. Will try the Hermes too - I tend to like their perfumes. Their Kelly Caleche was particularly lovely I thought, although not generally my type of perfume.

I think I'm most intrigued by the more niche perfumes though. I've seen the Serge Lutens ones mentioned on perfume threads here before and would definitely like to try the orientals in that range. Can you buy them in the shops?

Most big department stores carry Serge Lutens.

Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf (mens but pffft to that) is like sticking your head in the spice aisle at Sainsbos.

You know what also very nice - Annick Goutal - Musk Nomade and Ambre Fetiche.

Hypnotic Poison by Dior is also a mainstream perfume worth trying - might be too sweet for you though.

Order a few samples from Les Senteurs as a treat to yourself. You can pick almost anything from them and it will be quite good. I really recommend L'Air du Desert Marocain and perhaps Incense Rose or Une Rose Chypree.

I haven't ever smelt the Hypnotic Poison. No doubt I've been put off by the original which I actually think is quite horrid despite its classic status. It reminds me of tacky, big shouldered, eighties power suits. The sort of perfume that always manages to enter the room before the woman wearing it. Tacky.

There was another perfume I saw mentioned on here on another thread - a niche one - that I thought I might like to try. I can't remember the name now...

Found them. Has anyone tried Muscs Koublai Khan or Fumerie Turque? I got the impression these were niche Orientals?

I was going to suggest Tabu, it's super cheap and has to be applied with a very light hand. Rochas Absolu is another good one, it's discontinued but should still be on ebay.

Not niche I'm afraid but another vote for Hypnotic Poison! It's heavenly! Promise not anything at all like the yucky original - soo much better.

Has anyone suggested Classique for Woman by Jean Paul Gaultier? Again - not niche - an oldy but a goody though!
