What do you wear on Christmas Day?

Just that really - our Christmas is generally casual but I like to dress up a little more than usual whilst leaving enough room for a giant dinner

Please can I steal your ideas?

Usually a tunic and leggings type ensemble to allow for the meal.
I wore a silk dress once and splashed gravy down it, never again

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 11:05

This year I'm wearing my favourite jumpsuit that the top part is Lprint and bottom is creped black. I am loving the new patterns about though so might treat myself to something new.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/11/2012 11:26

I've got a black/gold Christmas jumper (with gold bead reindeer) and some black/gold leggings. for this year.

Just got to think what to put on my feet now ?

dottyaboutstripes · 21/11/2012 11:30

We don't leave the house and it's just us and the kids, but I either wear a nice dress or something like a sparkly top with my jeans or whatever. Dh has always cooked Christmas dinner so I don't have to worry about kitchen disasters on my outfitGrin

BunnyLebowski · 21/11/2012 11:33

I will be wearing a dark red velvet <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=red+velvet+pin+up+dress&um=1&hl=en&tbo=d&biw=1586&bih=1047&tbm=isch&tbnid=qhv2aH0E3gn-fM:&imgrefurl=www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D130748025255&docid=C5TTghDklLJdQM&itg=1&imgurl=i.ebayimg.com/t/NEW-EX-M-S-VINTAGE-40S-50S-ROCKABILLY-PIN-UP-RED-VELVET-PARTY-DRESS-6-22-/00/s/MTYwMFg4MTE%253D/%2524T2eC16V,!ykE9s7tw3lTBQLlzssrnw~~60_35.JPG&w=152&h=300&ei=U7usUJPsNuXL0AWAhIGIBA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=332&sig=110579325638702042409&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=80&start=0&ndsp=67&ved=1t:429,r:35,s:0,i:190&tx=46&ty=29" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">40's style dress with <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=seamed+tights&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1586&bih=1047&tbm=isch&tbnid=FumpiIpak0yndM:&imgrefurl=www.collectif.co.uk/hoisery-seamed-tights-p-pm03-c-black.html&docid=eiqrCW9bihc1bM&imgurl=www.collectif.co.uk/store/stock_1500/pam%252520seam%252520tights%252520black.jpg&w=1500&h=1500&ei=L7usUOeQKMix0QWSwYDYCA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=1092&sig=110579325638702042409&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=143&start=0&ndsp=80&ved=1t:429,r:39,s:0,i:206&tx=74&ty=53" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">seamed tights, heels and my new leopard print fur coat when we go visiting!

starfishmummy · 21/11/2012 11:48

Pjs for as long as i can get away with it......

QueefLatina · 21/11/2012 12:23

Trackie bottoms and a fair isle cardigan probably! Blush

Featherything · 21/11/2012 12:27

Loving the sound of the black/gold reindeer jumper 70isa!

sweetheart · 21/11/2012 14:02

This year I'll be wearing one of the fabulously tacky Primark Christmas jumpers. mine is bright red with a giant Christmas pudding on it. I got one for each of the kids too with Reindeer on them - dh was being grumpy and refused but he might find one in his stocking Wink

I'll probably dress it up a bit with some coated black skinny jeans

imnotmymum · 21/11/2012 14:05

Not thought about ityet. God I am so disorganised this year. Usually a lovely dress, shift type thing so not to show the bloat!

Gnomi · 21/11/2012 14:13

Did you get the jumpers this year sweetheart? I need a Christmas jumper for a wedding on 22nd December - the tackier the better.

sweetheart · 21/11/2012 14:49

Yes Primark is bursting with them this year. They seem to have childrens and mens but no womens - I brought an age 12-13 childs jumper for myself but I'm guessing a small mans would have fit too. They are all really bright colours.

Gnomi · 22/11/2012 10:09

Brilliant, thank you!

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 22/11/2012 10:13

Tesco have a christmas pudding jumper here

wordfactory · 22/11/2012 10:13

Smart casual as I'm the cook.

CointreauVersial · 22/11/2012 12:57

I'm not sure yet, but it will involve a bit of sparkle, and probably some festive earrings too.

DH is totally bemused by the whole dressing-up-at-Christmas thing. His family just slob out in trackies.

oopsiforgot · 22/11/2012 17:49

bunny your outfit is gooorgis!!! I want to steal it! Also liking Christmas jumpers for a laughGrin but would really love to spend the day in posh leisure wear (AKA jammies) and nit leave the house. Not gonna happen though as I've lots of visiting to do then workingSad

SantyClaws · 22/11/2012 18:08

i'll be wearing my ski suit {glam}

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2012 18:09

Summer dress as it will be sunny and warm (it better be).

ENormaSnob · 22/11/2012 19:41

Bunny, your outfit sounds amazing.

I will be in maternity clothes this year.

mirpuppet · 22/11/2012 20:56

BunnyLebowski I want to be you when I grow up.

Meggles76 · 23/11/2012 06:50

We are away for xmas this year. I think I will take lace LBD with opaques and heels and some statement earrings.

TellMeLater · 23/11/2012 07:17

Usually a knitted dress - comfortable and a little more dressy than normal - I am partial to an apron though, may request a poncy Toast version this Christmas - normally wear a bar tender style butchers style.

GlitKnit · 23/11/2012 07:31

GLITTERY KNITWEAR KLAXON

LookAtAllTheseFucksIGive · 23/11/2012 09:04

I always treat myself to a new outfit in december that gets worn on christmas do's, christmas day and boxing day if clean enough. Then I wear it on new year if going out then my birthday and our wedding anniversary in January. I'm a big girl but I got myself a knee length black lacy dress for this year. New knee high boots and footless tights.
