Will this fit the bill. Dull but seasonal?

Check it, crepeys. I've put some pics of the kitchen on my profile. Prepare your best gushes (and not in the peri-menopausal sense).

herbaceous · 07/01/2013 19:13

The first one is 'as was', the second 'during' and the third and fourth 'finished'. Just in case anyone started saying how much they liked the first one.

Blackduck · 07/01/2013 19:34

I like two ;) I live like that most of the time.....

Love it Herbs - looking good...

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2013 19:35

It looks fab Herbs (but glad we haven't got smell-a-vision!) - am liking the peninsular - will it be a "breakfast bar"?

DD came back from the cinema very jaunty. Just friends thoughHmm

Stropperella · 07/01/2013 19:50

V swish, Herbs. :)

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/01/2013 19:56

Oh I liked it as it was before...

No, just joking. It looks lovely - seriously swish.

My Paris kitchen has a white floor. I cannot bear it.

Please name and shame because we will need a new kitchen if/when we move back to London.

wilbur · 07/01/2013 20:29

Ooh Herbs, lush! And good call on the iroko going down over the end of the peninsula. Hmm, trying to work out if I can nick that idea.

Kids back to school tomorrow, thank god. Have scraped them all clean, scrubbed scalps, trimmed nails, yelled at them about pencil cases and book bags and gym kits. Then back to work and the usual routine, which is fine by me. As it's ds1's birthday on Friday, I never start my New Year until 12th Jan (extended this year to 13th Jan as that's the day for me to take a pile of pre-adolescent boys bowling and then feed them pizza and plonk them in front of a dvd afterwards). So it will be next week for getting to grips with my flubber. And the following week, and many more weeks to come. Sigh.

Triffic, Herbicissima.

I contemplated my rotundity in the shower. I look...Micheliny.

v v nice herbs, particularly loving your peninsular thingymajig...
Dh keen on a new kitchen this year, I'm still getting over having builders here from Easter to September last year...
I am feeling extremely rotund to the point of being quite despondent. Ho hum.
Tomorrow is the day for us when life is truly back to normal; dss back to school and all my usual comitments kick in. Sigh.

Everyone back today...it has been a staggered start in this house.
I have h-t off too due to dp's work commitments (hence the idea of going away for a couple of days...)
Ruby are you still thinking of moving? I waiver between regret (I miss my old house and the ease of the commute) and wondering why we didn't do it earlier (whole different vibe). But I think my gloom is bound up in impending birthday, midlife crisis, general New Year slump and the fact a move hasn't dealt with some serious underlying issues (now there's a surprise).

Ho hum...

MI I try not to contemplate myself in the shower (or bath) too depressing - low carb/no alcohol (oh how joyless) here I come :)

Oh Doah Blush
I have a mere week..... :)
I think my ishooes are bigger than the house really.

CointreauVersial · 08/01/2013 13:44

Kitchen looks gorgeous, Herbs, very fresh and lovely. But that sink doesn't look sealed in properly. Wink

Ruby - I went for my first run today since early December (my beer-bottled black toe has faded to purple and doesn't hurt quite so much). I managed to get around my route without stopping, but almost passed out at the end - I honestly thought I was going to throw up, then keel over in the mud.

In mouse news, unfortunately it appears that Downstairs Mouse (captured earlier in the week and released into the wild) and Upstairs Mouse are two separate animals, as DH and I concluded while lying in bed listening to the scratching and scuttling coming from the bedroom ceiling last night. Or there are possibly three, or four, or a whole blooming family of fat, chocolate-fed furry bastards peeing all over my house and keeping me awake at night. Angry More trapping required.

BD - sorry to hear about ishoos. Sad

Lovely kitchen herbs. I have Drawer Envy. I'm fed up with cupboards, especially below waist level.

Didn't put on weight over holiday but now in exhausted post-viral slump, from which only food can revive me. Just came home and had two slices of dh's home-made bread Blush

herbaceous · 08/01/2013 19:18

My drawers are bloody lovely. The top wide one has all my spices in, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. The next one down has chopping boards, book-holder, scales, etc, and the bottom one has pans. Mmmmm... I even have a dedicated tupperware drawer. Sheer opulence.

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2013 19:25

I too have drawer envy, especially of the one with spices in alphabetical orderEnvy

herbaceous · 08/01/2013 19:28

And one with cling-film, foil, plastic bags, etc. And we have pull-out bins, with a drawer above that pulls out, WITH THE BIN BAGS IN.

Yeah, Herbie, but what sort of a state will it be in in a few months, eh eh eh?

O rubes and BD, I am so sorry

motherinferior · 08/01/2013 20:13

And yes to meetup! Feb?

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2013 20:38

Ruby, name your date ASAP as we are booking up rapidly!

My preference would be for a Friday. But maybe a Saturday? Weeknights are not good for me as I would have to be very sensible, not drink at all and go home early so that I could survive the next day at workBlush
