like I need a hole in my head, but my mum sent me these b/c she didn't like 'em (she got 'em in the US, but I found 'em here on the Kay's website):

They're the lime green ones.

They're quirky, but I don't think they look right w/skinny jeans.

Ideas on what to wear w/em - trouser/bottoms-wise that is, I've got tops and accessories sussed.

no you're right, too clumpy for skinnies

not sure what you'd wear them with tbh....

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:33

i'm stumped, FG. My mum says they're for skirts, long ones. And she's not partial to them b/c she says they make her look short and dumpy.

Thanks for sending them along then, Mum.

you sound too delicate for clogs expat

give them away, the boho look is dead!

ShaysMummy · 31/03/2006 21:35

flared jeans.
the shoes are lurrrvely! x

if u cant find anything, i'll ave em!

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:35

She told me to get rid of them if I didn't like them.

I think I may keep thing for taking the rubbish out, tho. As slippers, but for outside.

Or I could take them to their apartment they have here and leave them in her cupboard for her next visit. W/a bow on them :o.

do you have neighbours you don't like under you? then they could be handy Grin

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:37

They've got a nice heel. She likes heels.

Of course, she got them for about 20 (USD).

She's always doing that - buying clothes on sale and then deciding she doesn't fancy them anymore.

or to hit pegs if you go camping

or to hit burglers over the head

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:37

I think they're fab for roach-killing myself. I told her that, especially as they are in Mexico just now.

She wasn't amused.

Frenchgirl · 31/03/2006 21:38

you need to explain to her about planning before you buy clothes (what does it go with, etc....)

Grin
expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:39

she always looks elegant and age-appropriate. of course she does, her mother was a French war bride her dad met whilst he was in Britain during the war. Wink

but she has LOADS of clothes and shoes.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:40

she can do that disdainful look that only a French woman can do when she finds something distasteful.

Frenchgirl · 31/03/2006 21:41

I love clogs!
Try 'em with sort of Capri pants and a little shirt with a nipped in waist..

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:45

hmmm. there is an idea! :)

OP posts:
moondog · 31/03/2006 21:48

Also a long linen sleeveless dress or pair of loose trousers and a tunic/kaftan jobby with some big sunglasses and dramatic jewellery (although dunno how suitable that would be for E'burgh.......Was thinking about your walk to work the other day after you mentioned it btw. It's a bit of a hike eh??)

expatinscotland · 31/03/2006 21:51

i wear trainers for the walk in, moon. that's a deffo idea! cheers!
