Nephew's birthday coming up. He is v label conscious (lives in Monte Carlo!) and into surfy brands (he does also actually surf and snowboard) -

so, which of these T shirts would you (as a 12 yo boy) like best?

Superdry 1

Superdry 2

Hollister long sleeves

Volcom

Ignore last two links, all merges up, should be

Hollister short sleeves

Volcom

my ds would prefer the last one with the owls or the short sleeve hollister.

his fave shop atm is river island, not sure how that would go down with a label lover though.

EdithWeston · 02/11/2012 21:38

Not Superdry. Probably the Volcom (because I loathe Hollister and it's too ubiquitous, possibly not in Monte Carlo, though).

Disclaimer: my DS would much prefer a Minecraft t-shirt!

FrightRunScream · 02/11/2012 21:45

What's wrong with Superdry? (not that I care, it was just on the list of acceptable labels dictated to me by my sister).

OP posts:
AgentProvocateur · 02/11/2012 21:45

Not superdry

AgentProvocateur · 02/11/2012 21:46

Cross post - "it's what neds wear now".

VivaLeBeaver · 02/11/2012 21:47

Great. Have just spent £100 on a super dry coat for dd.

AgentProvocateur · 02/11/2012 21:49

It was my 15yr old DS - I wouldn't take his word as gospel. I see loads if people wearing Superdry, and it looks to me like it's still fashionable.

almapudden · 02/11/2012 22:10

The very cool 12 year old boys I teach would like the first Superdry one or the short-sleeved Hollister one best.

HecatePhosphorus · 02/11/2012 22:12

Mine wouldn't go for any.

If it doesn't have a hood, it's just not good enough Hmm

lljkk · 02/11/2012 22:13

Superdry in small letters on back of a nice jacket is fine, but in great big letters across the chest it still screams NAPPY WEARER in quite a few minds.

lljkk · 02/11/2012 22:16

I think FatFace is cooler than SD.

TheFallenMadonna · 02/11/2012 22:19

DS would like the last one. What is wrong with the others is the brand is scrawled across them. That is not OK.

TheBuskersDog · 02/11/2012 23:14

My 15 year old son who also surfs and snowboards would only wear Volcom of those brands.

TheBuskersDog · 02/11/2012 23:18

"I think FatFace is cooler than SD."

Fatface is not cool. I say this as someone who really likes and has a lot of their stuff.
My teenager would not touch it with a barge pole.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/11/2012 00:03

My very uncool nearly 13 yo DS would go for the Volcom skull T-Shirt.
He wouldn't recognise Hollister or Superdry if it shook his hand.
He thinks a Bart Simpson T-Shirt is the height of chic Confused

He wouldn't go for the maroon/blue one 'cos that's West Ham colours and he supports The Arsenal.

lia66 · 03/11/2012 00:10

Another vote for river island here too. Hop lister and super dry still popular with my fashion conscious 15 yr ds, also top man, hoodies with the ties in the hood too.

seeker · 03/11/2012 00:12

My 11 year old would kill for the first Superdry one. (but I would be killed rather than spend 22 quid on a t shirt for him) Hollister is for girls inn his circle.

BackforGood · 03/11/2012 00:19

My teens think SuperDry is naff - it's all over the place like a rash where we live, so therefore, everyone has it = not cool.

seeker · 03/11/2012 00:24

Ah- but there is also the everyone has it-therefore it is cool!

AgnesBligg · 03/11/2012 00:32

the mums on my school run wear superdry. That can't be cool can it?

the skull one is the nicest of the lot.

FrightRunScream · 03/11/2012 08:51

Looks like the skull one then.
Apparently DNeph "only wears labels and doesn't do high street, really TBH Fright he is "street", so you wouldn't really understand" . This from his mother who wouldn't be seen dead in even M&S knickers. Mine and her attitudes to designer brands are hugely different! I am not sure River Island are in France /MC.

It was so much easier when it was Lego.

lostinindia · 03/11/2012 08:55

What's a Ned?

TheFallenMadonna · 03/11/2012 08:58

Superdry and hollister are on the high st. Although admittedly so gloomy inside you might miss them...

You need bonsoir for the sartorial choices of well heeled french teenagers I think.

seeker · 03/11/2012 08:59

Don't ask, lostinindia- you'll let the worms out!

fright- I have to say after your last post, if he was my nephew, he'd get a selection box. If he was lucky.
