I have tried getting it waxed, and the (young) beautician just does what she calls a lip and chin, but tbh I need it over most of my chin, and all down my throat to get the odd ones. I have been using cream, which is good for the soft ones, but still end up pulling the stiff ones out (TMI). Anyone tried threading?

I have same problem (PCOS). I use the little Veet facial strips but by bathroom light is not much cop so when I catch sight of myself in daylight I always notice a few I've missed

Haha! Well I'd tell her then if she's just not getting it, try someone else. Threadings similar results if you find someone good. Still makes you quite red after.

I have my eyebrows threaded, and often see women in there having their whole faces/necks done, so it must be popular.

It's not a permanent solution though. Have you thought about electrolysis? I have started to get loads one our two on my chin and my mum told me to get straight on it as it gets rid of them fire good.

I just tend to put veet cream for sensitive skin over my face ( not all over, just so it looks like I have a white beard and moustache) for a couple of minutes. Do NOT leave on for any longer than this!

I find it painful enough getting my brows threaded - would imagine face, lip and neck would be fecking agony

I have PCOS too and I get my face threaded (eyebrows, sideburns, lip, jaw, chin and neck), I do find it incredibly painful but in my experience the results are better than waxing and last longer. If you do go for threading make sure you go somewhere that specialises in threading (so they know what they're doing!) and take painkillers beforehand. I've always wondered about having electrolysis/ IPL/ laser hair removal in the future.

It's an absolute shitbitch isn't it I've only this morning plucked a vests worth of hair from my nipples, chin and eyebrows.

I get my eyebrows threaded which is painful enough; I once rashly agreed to have my upper lip threaded too, and bloody hell it was agony, and went all red and inflamed afterwards. So I just use Veet and tweezers. Epilating is also a possibility - still painful but not as bad as threading.

Electrolysis is more effective on thicker darker hairs and will take AGES on wispy hair and unless you get someone who seriously knows what they're doing you can scar badly too. I'd vote epilating at home. Painful but you and your pink beard and tash can sit at home and not have to bump into friends on the way home trying to hide behind your handbag/hand/magazine

Me too. The clear autumn sunlight this morning showed lots of chin hairs and neck hairs. PCOS too.

I found electrolysis expensive and not very effective when I had it ages ago. Threading I find unbelievably painful for the upper lip and it so depends on the person concerned. They appear to be more used to eyebrows.

Another hairy chinny chin chin here, and throat and neck....but how do they sometimes just appear overnight, all long&thick&annoying?

Me too. I try to pluck the dark stubbly ones but am often quite lazy and run a razor over it.

I don't mind the light whispy stuff, can live with that, it;s the hard wirey ones that get me. I am pale skinned and dark haired so is quite noticeable.

Ooh, I saw this thread and had to post.... I suffer from PCOS and facial hair got so bad that I was shaving it every other day.... The cycle is 6 weeks and I only have to shave once before the laser session otherwise there is no need. Most clinics like these nowadays have deals on groupon etc so you only pay a fraction of the advertised cost.

Whichever clinic you choose, make sure the machines are the same as the ones in the link mentioned. Others might be good but I have no experience of them.

Another chin hair sufferer here. What a nightmare. I'm seriously considering having them zapped. I always thought it was age rather than pcos. I'm 39. If I stopped plucking them I swear I'd have a goatee:)

I've got pcos too and the dreaded monkey face (sucks at any age but this has really bothered me since I was 23)

I use an epilator on it. Upper lip stings but rest is tolerable. I like it because I can take it on holiday and not worry about having to faff around with wax strips.

randon thanks for the linky. Can you clarify that it gets rid of white ones as well as dark ones?

I find that up until 3/4 weeks after the treatment, the skin stays as smooth as a baby's bottom. I get very fine hair after that period which are virtually impossible to the naked eye. As part of the process, I have to remove all hair before I have the treatment so thats the only reason I shave now. I have only had about 4 courses so far and have about 4 treatments left so hopefully won't need to do any of that for longer periods.

offcourse I am aware that it will never cure the problem forever so will need some maintenance treatments in the coming years but I was so pissed off with shaving every other day. Because of excessive shaving, I had stubble like men do, so I am over the moon with the results.

Does it get rid of the white ones though?
