I have fine brown shoulder length brown hair, I want a fringe, I do not want to look like Sam Cam

It has been a long time since I have had a hairstyle I really liked. When I dress up to go out (not often enough!) my hair really let's me down. On a day to day basis it is pulled back into a ponytail/bun.
I had short hair, I've grown it to just beyond my shoulders and it looks OK, but I am now thinking I would like a fringe. Due to my fine, flat hair I think it needs to be reasonably rather than a few slighter shorter strands (previous efforts have been a bit like this).
Can anyone think of anyone with fine hair and a fringe that actually looks good?

Funny someone should criticise Sam Cam's hair on grounds of colour - I agree, but, ironically, she goes to Daniel Galvin who are supposed to be colour specialists. I've tried them myself and on three separate occasions in the last few years they've given me a colour (highlights, etc) that wasn't what I wanted and didn't suit my colouring. Have given up going there now, but Sam (and Dave) stay faithful it seems.
