Botox is really so amazing. If you have some angry lines Wink or some wrinkles around your eyes I cannot say enough how effective it is! It makes all that faffing around trying to find a miracle cream pointless.

You look younger, fresher and less tired, you CAN still emote.Grin Make up goes on better. You feel younger and more confident. Most of all, however, you dont catch a glimpse of yourself looking like your mother!

Yes. Definitely in the "if it makes you feel good, go for it" camp.

Catandthecream · 02/09/2012 22:22

My husband has never known I've had it done, he would just not get it!

I have an appt at 2.30 this week and will be doing the school run at 3.15 (that is how quickly any sign disappears from my face)

cybbo · 02/09/2012 22:32

Sweetfanny this thread is for potential Botox users. Away with you with your natural beauty and line free face Grin

MrsBovary · 02/09/2012 22:37

I intend to have it done, when the temporary frown lines no longer disappear. If that makes sense.

Am hoping the sizzling (glycolic acid) will stave off the inevitable a while longer.

NumptyMum · 02/09/2012 22:50

I'm beginning to be tempted - never thought I would - but am still bf a very determined feeder who won't give up... so I guess I'm stuck with my horrid number 11s. Anything else (other than alcohol) that can ease the wrinkles?

NumptyMum · 02/09/2012 22:53

Hmm - OK, so this is from the Daily Mail but it does make me very wary of these treatments...

cybbo · 03/09/2012 07:12

So don't have those treatment!

googlenut · 03/09/2012 07:35

Still not sure how you find someone to do it - googling at random seems a bit risky.

cybbo · 03/09/2012 10:05

Dentists do it, tbh I don't think you can go really wrong if you go to an established beauty clinic and have a chat with them

SweetFannyCraddock · 03/09/2012 10:34

I honestly don't see the problem. I wouldn't do it, but understand why some would.

Chuchygirl · 03/09/2012 15:31

No, I don't think I'll bother, I don't want to look odd or shiny, which all the people who I know who use botox, seem to look. Mind you, I don't have many lines yet, so we shall see!

noddyholder · 03/09/2012 16:38

The shiny thing with all the celebs foxes me as I have never seen it in real life friends

0lympia · 03/09/2012 18:04

Re: the lack of confidence quote... Hmm In the last ten years have been through an awful lot and to be honest it's etched on my face. I don't lack confidence because I KNOW now how strong I am, but the shit I went trhough discovering that.... I don't mind ageing, but I don't want to advertise to the world that I have felt anxious and stressed for the last ten years.

Catandthecream · 03/09/2012 20:52

Olympia, you don't need to explain yourself to anyone! It's your face and anyone commenting on what you want to do with it can buggar off!

Charliefox · 03/09/2012 21:41

Isn't the shiney face look from peels, rather than Botox.

FoxPass · 03/09/2012 21:56

I am so tempted, I have a vertical line between my eyebrows which varies in intensity depending on how grumpy stressed I've felt that day.

My dentist does it. Are dentists generally a good bet for botox? Read up a bit and he knows his stuff re. facial muscles and is qualified so it seems a good choice.

DameEnidSpink · 03/09/2012 22:49

Good botox doesn't look odd or shiny. Less is definitely more.

I'm currently saving up as my stress is showing on my face daily

Devasmum · 12/11/2012 22:54

I'd recommend fillers and botox. Ive had "11"s between eyebrows done with botox and Juvederm (filler) in the lines between nose and angle of mouth. Its smoothed my face and I think I look great. Am 40 in 2 weeks time and people always comment I don't look my age, Id like to keep it that way as long as possible. The technology is there, why not use it? I go to a dental clinic between chester and wrexham and see a Dr Kenningham. Google her name as she has a website. Been twice and would recommend, she's safe, careful and reasonably priced. A friend travels from Manchester to go to her too.
